Getting lost in the maths
Its mathematically or for some, arithmetically possible, for every league in Scottish football from SPL to div 3 to be won on Saturday.
-
Missing the SPL?
I'm missing the coverage that the SPL brought, the 1st division isn't too bad but as pointed out the club needs to be in the SPL. The thing I would miss the most about not being in the SPL is the players, as we wouldn't have them next year.

Getting lost in the maths
To simplify. ICT------------COUNTY----------------DUNDEE 64---------------67-----------------------69 ICT is the current points total. For County and Dundee this is the potential maximum points that they can achieve. So add on the points for us accordingly and every time County or Dundee draw, take off 2 points and take 3 off for a defeat, if they win, their points stay the same, when our number is bigger than the others we win.

Alex Keddie
but Inverness is closer to the central belt than Dingwall !

Derek Adams
Would he or should he move on if he was offered a managers post with a larger club, or is he contented at County or perhaps not quite ready for a step up to a bigger club. Some clubs may come knocking on Countys door is the summer as he has guided County to the Scottish cup final. Thoughts. Ps when I say a bigger club it wont be ICT, we are happy with our UEFA cup winning manager. Pps back then, that was the equivalent of winning the Champions league today. Was starting to go off topic. Do you think he will move on in the summer ?

pub in ayr
Thanks a lot for the free soup and sandwiches. Do you have any outside seats? I was going to bring my own tins of special brew and I thought it might be rude of me to drink them in your pub with my free soup.

So which result is bigger?
Our 3-1 win was a bigger result, we were the trend setters and it didn't seem as important to the public when we beat them the second time whilst managed by the well respected Martin O'Neil. Supercountygoballistic? get your own head liners But it is a bigger achievement to reach the cup final.

Are County and QoS now out of the title push?
Pars are already out of it. The best they can do is win all games and reach 61 pts. They would also need to get +22 goals to go above us. I totally agree with you but on paper they're still in it until it is mathematically impossible for them to win.

Can the others catch us
Can they catch us, potentially or realistically, read the following and decide. A young boy went up to his father and asked him, 'Dad, what is the difference between potentially and realistically ?' The father thought for a moment, then answered, 'Go ask your mother if she would sleep with Brad Pitt for a million dollars. Then ask your sister if she would sleep with Brad Pitt for a Million dollars, and then ask your brother if he'd sleep with Brad Pitt for a million dollars. Come back and tell me what you learn from that.' So the boy went to his mother and asked, 'Would you sleep with Brad Pitt for a million dollars?' The mother replied, 'Of course I would! We could really use that money to fix up the house and send you kids to a great University!' The boy then went to his sister and asked, 'Would you sleep with Brad Pitt for a million dollars?' The girl replied, 'Oh my Gawd! I LOVE Brad Pitt I would sleep with him in a heartbeat, are you nuts?' The boy then went to his brother and asked, 'Would you sleep with Brad Pitt for a million dollars?' 'Of course,' the brother replied. 'Do you know what a million Bucks would buy?' The boy pondered the answers for a few days and then went back to his dad. His father asked him, 'Did you find out the difference between 'potentially' and 'realistically' ?' The boy replied, 'Yes, 'Potentially', you and I are sitting on Three million dollars . But 'realistically', we're just living with two hookers and a queer Potentially County have to win 7 games in a row to be in with a chance of lifting the cup. Realistically Brewster's got as much chance of pulling Brad Pitt than a champagne cork this season.

Are County and QoS now out of the title push?
After checking the table again a win on Saturday will knock out Qos and Pars.

An overlooked reason for ICT to be optimistic
I think theres a lot of things to be optimistic about. Highest goal scorers in the league, best defence in the league, best goalie, best away record, We have the points on the board which is better that saying IF we win all our games in hand we will be in contention. If you look at the potential of what the opposition might do, it is only that, so there is no need to feel any pressure. As pointed out. On recent form Dundee have collapsed and are even worse away from home, with probably the most disgruntled fans in the league. County seem to have lost their way since playing extra games each week and they still have to play 8 games in 22 days. I think our fans will play a big part in this too, with the never say die attitude, ICT V Raith is a good example. Regardless of the table I would like to see our undefeated record to continue for as long as possible and to beat Dundee on the last day of the season not through necessity but because we can.

Cappielow Smileymometer
B) B) :D Fans - excellent. I raise my hat to the noisy mental nut jobs that are called ICT fans, for the noise, the wit and the enthusiasm. I'm sure Billy Reid was at the game in our end, came in after KO and left about 10 mins in to the second half "shes better than you, shes better than you" seemed to raise a smile,

Relevant songs for final home games
Mahonio if you're really worried about getting lost, make your way to the river by walking in the same direction as you leave the railway station. When you get there turn right and keep walking along the bank following the water until you get to the stadium. Thats an indirect route, my tip would be to hang around the town untill you find a bus with a sign on it for Dingwall or Alness, Then run behind it as fast as you possibly can until it reaches the bridge then slow down and your at the stadium. A couple of tips, there will be a lot of fans going to the game, follow people wearing Ict colours. Its next to the Kessock bridge this is high use this as a guide. If arriving by train leave the station by the rear entrance, not the shopping centre side the other side passing a barbers in the station, leave the station keeping the railway lines to your right walk past Budget car hire, there is a tunnel dead ahead walk through it and turn right, follow the dual carriageway this will take you directly there. you will see on your left the police station, the college and B&Q only 10 mins away now, cross the A9 and follow the fans

Pressure what pressure
This topic wasnt really about who is deemed to be the underdogs, I'm reading more and more about its our turn to feel the pressure now that we are at the top. I'm merely pointing out that there is a lot of pressure on big spending Dundee to win the league and even more so now that they have been pushed in to second, although County are just behind us IF they win their games in hand, so theres not really any fear of them catching us up just yet, as theres a lot of pressure on them to win their games in hand too. Were not the ones under pressure the other teams are.
-
Pressure what pressure
Why do all the other teams try and turn this around and say the pressure is all on us now that we are at the top. Every one loves the underdog to win and we are that in a way, to sit behind the other teams for so long we are underdogs. We entered the 1st division arena to join the likes of high spending high paying Dundee, who were also the the bookies favourites before a ball was even kicked. If there is any pressure in this league I would most definitely say that it is and always be on Dundee and there is even more pressure on the high spending club now that they are sitting just behind us in the league. Regarding County its still a tall ask, seeing as they touted themselves as the fittest team in the league they haven't faired too well in the league whilst playing 2 games a week, so perhaps the fear of County winning all of their games in hand and closing the gap should really be ignored until a possibly becomes a reality. So heres to the underdogs and to ruining the Dundee players cup winning bonus. Best wishes in the final games, all us fans will be there to support you in numbers. Good luck.
