  1. There was ample proof this year that leaving the table for 'anyone' to update does not work. So, for me, Caleyrule's offer to commit to updating the table regularly next season is one I welcome, and if it happens I would be happy to compete again next season. Otherwise, if its going to be like this year, I'll give it a miss.
  2. The further south the better for me! Swindon would be great, only 40 miles away. Not a ground I've been to yet either.
  3. Whilst it is possible that the decline in interest this season was due to lack of motivation because CanadaBob withdrew his previous generous sponsorship, I feel that it is more likely that people lost interest because of the infrequency of table updates. Although c-h2 rightly states that 'anyone' could update the tables, for this to work accurately it would mean those doing the updates would each have to maintain a 'master' spreadsheet right from week 1. Not really practical in my opinion. No, for a comp like this to work, someone really needs to take responsibility. That's what was lacking this year.
  4. Yes, a final table would be nice, but I think you can safely say that you have won handsomely, CaleyRule, so congratulations from me. With table updates being so infrequent this year, I have found that most of the time I have been betting 'blind', with no knowledge of how I was doing in the league from week to week vis a vis anyone else. In previous years, betting tactically was much more possible, making it for me, more enjoyable. Still, it was the same for everyone, so once again, congratulations to the winners.
  5. Hayes has flourished since Imrie left. Also, his temperament is better. I wouldn't want to swap them now, no matter what awards Imrie has picked up.
  6. Great news, particularly re Hayes. Two years as well should mean a hefty transfer fee in the kitty when he is lured to a bigger club (as he surely will be one day). Congrats to all concerned.
  7. He would be a great acquisition if we could afford him. He is probably on at least 5K a week with Burnley.
  8. Elgin, away, @ 5.50, please. As I'm away for the final week, can I have Elgin again on 1st May please, at whatever odds they are? Thanks.

  11. Raith win, or draw for me. I don't see that diminishing the celebrations at the following two matches. In fact I'm quite amazed that some folks are hoping for a Dundee win!
  12. All over at Morton The league is ours - no way we can lose an 18 goal GD gap in 2 games. Well done to everyone

  14. Elgin v E Stirling, draw @3.60, please
  15. Clach have a great history in Inverness and to write them off in such a derisory way is, I think, way over the top. I hope a rescue package can be found and that they survive and indeed prosper.

  18. United blew it, big time, last night. As for Ferguson's post match interview, it must be a close run thing between him and Wenger as to who is the more ungracious after a defeat. Frankly, I'm glad all the English teams are out. They were beginning to see it as a God given right to reach the semi finals, at least. Nothing like seeing them taken down a peg or two. Having said that, I hope Fulham do well tonight in the Europa Cup.
  19. So do I. Two of our closest contenders each dropping 2 points is better than one of them dropping 3.

  21. I've finally got my breath back, and had a look at the 4 contenders remaining fixtures. I've ruled Dunfermline out now but not QOS, as they have 8 games left, and a good run could see them still a danger. However QOS have to play County twice in the run in. We could really do with both these fixtures being draws. Apart from meeting us in the final game, Dundee don't play any of the other contenders, so potentially they have the easiest run in, even with 4 away games. So the final day showdown is still a realistic possibility. However, I feel that 10 points from our final 5 games should be enough. Not easy but certainly possible.
  22. Not sure if my poor old ticker will last out for another 5 games of this!

  25. By my rekonning, using your rules, we will have won the league after beating Dunfermline on 17th April.
