I cannot see the sense in pursuing this. As far as I can tell Niculai did nothing wrong and seems to be in the right over this. It was us who screwed the whole thing up, whether by incompetence or lack of experience in transfer deals, I cannot say. Throwing good money after bad if you ask me.

Looks to me as if the guy is a knowledgeable buyer. The only sure way he could tell if the guitar was actually a 1974 model was by examining it, given that you were unable to supply confirming serial nos. etc. I think I too would be seeking a refund in the circumstances. However, you can wait and let Ebay decide the outcome.

Theres only ONE Ted MacDougall
Caley Mad In Berks replied to IMMORTAL HOWDEN ENDER's topic in Caley Thistle
If I'm not mistaken, wasn't Ted McDougal's old man the famous Clach goalkeeper, 'Eck' Mcdougal, of the 40s and early 50s? George Ross was a contempory of mine in Inverness Royal Academy in the mid 50s. He was also a good cricketer btw. Unfortunately I don't think he ever got a full Scotland cap. He spent his full senior career with Preston where I believe he still acts as a hospitality host on matchdays. -
Have to agree with you there, Renegade. I wasn't there, so don't know first hand how bad (or otherwise) Lionel was yesterday. But most people are very quick to condemn him, indeed seem to get great delight in slagging him off at the least opportunity. I've seen Golabek live on at least four occasions this season and he has ranged from OK down to absolutely shocking (Cup final in Perth for example). He is not the answer. So, I'd agree in blooding Shinnie for the rest of the season, now that our promotion chances are nil minus.

Absolutely definitely it is wishful thinking. Face it, Denzil was well past his best before he left us last time.

Can't agree with you there. Governments have a right to expect that their sportsmen will be safe and protected when guests in another country. They wern't safe so they were called home. Quite right.

Whilst I agree with the proactive suggestions from both finmack and brian on this thread earlier to improve the official site, I fear it will for quite some time yet, compare unfavourably with this unofficial site. This is simply because we have been spoiled here, due largely to Scotty and Don's unstinting effort over many years. For the official site to 'catch up' is almost an impossible job. I'm not in the habit of looking at other Scottish clubs' official sites, but I'd venture a guess that ours is no worse than some of the others. I'm prepared to be shot down here by anyone who does compare other Scottish official sites. I do look at a couple of English clubs' official sites (not EPL) and I have to say that they are pretty much on the ball, and better than ours. I can see that for a club our size, with limited resources, expending time and money on a web site may not be seen as a high priority. But if they were to realise what a powerful tool it is for communication with their core supporters, I'm sure they would see things differently. So here's hoping that some of the powers that be within the club read some of the positive comments on this thread and act accordingly. I may be naieve, but I actually think that the individual board members (and I've met some of them) actually do try to act in the best interests of the club, but perhaps sometimes need an encouraging nudge in the right direction. Much of the 'muppet' talk we see frequently on this site is in my view, childish and unhelpful.

Maybe Robbo will have another go for it. Or, perhaps 'once bitten, twice shy'.

I was fearing the worst early on, but didn't he finish it off well? Bring on Federer, although he has no 'gimme' in his own semi final. Well done Andy. Roll on first of many grand slam victories!

I still can remember my old man driving us across the temporary bridge when we were about 7 or 8 years old. I used to have nightmares about him driving off the edge. It was all pretty rickety and unstable as I remember. Would not pass health and safety nowadays! I remember the 'temporary' bridge too. I certainly don't recall it being rickety and unstable. It lasted over 20 years apparently, and I drove, and walked, accross it umpteen times so I'd prefer to think that it was quite sound.

Wyness was past his best when we let him go before. Has he improved? I don't think so. Forget it. Also I think we can do better than Camara (or whatever his name is).

Have to disagree there. United would be a far better side if they still had him. If they end up not winning anything this season, as is possible, maybe their reluctance to pay the asking price will be seen as a false economy.

Funnily enough I had the 'QPR rant' sent to me by Email this morning, and was going to post it on here, but Heilandee beat me to it. Sad thing is I find myself in total agreement with most of what the guy is saying.

My thoughts as well. The word 'legend' is grossly overused these days, but if anyone qualifies, then Bill certainly did.

I was sent this recently, and it gave me a good laugh. There are a few sweary words in it, but I think removing them, or bleeping them out, would spoil the effect. Maybe the mods will disagree! THE DIARY OF AN ENGLISHMAN LIVING IN THE HIGHLANDS "Our First Winter" DEC 20th It's starting to snow. The first of the season and the first we've seen for years. The wife and I took out our hot toddies and sat on the porch watching the fluffy soft flakes drift gently down clinging to the trees and covering the ground. It's so beautiful and peaceful. DEC 24th We awoke to a lovely blanket of crystal white glistening snow covering as far as the eye could see. What a fantastic sight, every tree and bush covered with a beautiful white mantle. I shovelled snow for the first time ever and loved it. I did both our driveway and the pavement. Later that day a snowplough came along and accidentally covered up our driveway with compacted snow from the street. The driver smiled and waved. I waved back and shovelled it away again. The children next door built a snowman with coal for eyes and a carrot for a nose, and had a snowball fight, a couple just missed me and hit the car so I threw a couple back and joined in their fun. DEC 26th It snowed an additional 5 inches last night and the temperature dropped to around minus 8 degrees. Several branches on our trees and bushes snapped due to the weight of the snow. I shovelled the driveway again. Shortly afterwards the snowplough came by and did his trick again. Much of the snow is now a brownish - grey. JAN 1st Warmed up enough during the day to create some slush which soon became ice when the temperature dropped again. Bought snow tyres for both our cars. Fell on my arse in the driveway. Went to a physio but nothing was broken. JAN 5th Still bitterly cold. Sold the wife's car and bought her a 4x4 to get her to work. She slid into a wall and did considerable damage to the right wing. Had another 8 inches of white ***** last night. Both vehicles are covered in salt and iced up slush That ******* snowplough came by twice today.........Where's that bloody shovel? JAN 9th More ******* snow. Not a tree or bush on our property that hasn't been damaged. Power was off most of the night. Tried to keep from freezing to death with candles and a paraffin heater which tipped over and nearly torched the house. I managed to put the flames out but suffered 2nd degree burns on my hands. Lost all my eyebrows and eyelashes. Car hit a ******* deer on the way to casualty and was written off. JAN 13th ******* ******* white ***** just keeps on coming down. Have to put on every article of clothing just to go to the post box. The little **** next door ambushed me with snowballs on the way back - I'll shove that carrot so far up the little *******'s arse it'll take a good surgeon hours to find it. If I ever catch the ****** that drives the snowplough I'll chew open his chest and rip out his heart with my teeth. I think the ******* hides around the corner and waits for me to finish shovelling and then he accelerates down the street like Michael Schufuckingmacher and buries the ******* driveway again. JAN 17th Sixteen more ******* inches of ******* snow and ******* ice and ******* sleet and god knows what other white ***** fell last night. I am in court in 3 months time for assaulting the snowplough driver with an ice-pick. Can' t move my ******* toes. Haven't seen the sun for 5 weeks. Minus 20 and more ******* snow forecast. JAN 18th **** THIS, I'M MOVING BACK TO LONDON
