  1. No, you're right CB. It is definitely Rodwill, according to his book, "In a different league". A very good book it is too!
  2. Not surprised he is leaving after all the speculation, but I am surprised he is not going south. I suppose we have to wish him well, except of course when he plays against us.
  3. Another great result. First half sounded a bit dull, even though we bossed possession. But we came good in second half, with plenty shots on target and of course, the two goals. It will be difficult to stop many of us start to dream of European football now! Five out of five wins in January, magnificent! One more to go next Saturday for total January clean sweep. Can't be anyone but Yogi for Manager of month.
  4. Excellent, well done Nick.
  5. Own goal apparently, but I'm not proud! Let's consolidate now lads with another.
  6. H/T 0-1 F/T 0-2 ICT Tansey Hamilton Imrie Time 17
  7. Sixpence?? She must have been a professional! You could get into a football match for sixpence in those days. Ninety minutes of pleasure (if it was a Caley match) instead of ninety seconds. A no brainer! I'd have gone back to class too.
  8. Yes CB, that is the only one I remember. I think its entrance would have been on Diriebught Rd, right at the end, just before where it is blocked off. Incidentally, I remember when it wasn't blocked off! You certainly couldn't access the curling rink from the golf course, nor, I think, from Culcabock Road.
  9. The only curling rink I remember was just to the left of the 11th hole (I think) of Culcabock golf course, just after you crossed the road from the clubhouse side to the other, very close to the old water mill.
  10. Looking forward to seeing a full match report from someone who was there. I see Nick Ross is collecting most of the votes in the MOM thread. Well done to him. Good to see him starting as opposed to his sub role of late. Just noticed that we got no yellow cards last night. Quite an achievement these days when they seem to be dished out often, even for minimal contact tackles. I'm too lazy to check back all our match reports, but I'd guess that is our first yellow card free outing for quite a long time.
  11. Yes, in Inglis Street. I bought my first football boots there.
  12. Great result, and a decent crowd for a cold Tuesday night in Jan. I imagine the directors will see the 'pay what you can' experiment as being successful. Well done to them for showing initiative. But the biggest plaudits are to Yogi and the team. A clear 3rd in the SPFL is no more than we deserve. What a great 2015 it has been so far. Roll on Saturday.
  13. I'm with ICTRoughi and Sneckboy on this. I didn't like Shinnie at right back in the few games he played there last season. So Meekings to right back with Devine replacing him alongside Warren, seems the best option for me. However, as long as Yogi fields a winning side, I'll be happy!

  15. Sat 17 Jan 2-015 Scottish League 1 Rory McAllister (Peterhead 2 Stirling 1) Brian Gilfilan (Dunfermline 2 Airdrieonians 2)
  16. Yes, I can't help feeling that, if the game goes ahead, the adverse weather will scupper any benefit that this bold venture might have produced. A great pity, as it would have been good to see if the initiative had a positive effect on attendance. However, ICT must have known when they announced the trial several weeks ago that the weather in third week of January could have a detrimental effect. Perhaps it should be tried again, but much earlier, next season.
  17. I believe this is the area between Drummond Road (on the left) and Culduthel Road (on the right), looking from the South (ie in the general direction of the town). Towards the top of the photo you can see where Culduthel Rd bends about 45 degrees to the left near the top of Hilton Avenue and then joins Drummond Rd at the crossroads after Drummond Road goes down the dip. The two linking thoroughfares will possibly be Burn and Lodge Roads. This is clearly a fairly old photo as well since there are several current features, such as much of the left side of Culduthel Road, which are not there yet. I think you have it spot on CB, but what is the large structure to the left of Drummond Rd as we look at the picture, roughly between Burn Rd and Lodge Rd? Is it a farm? Or a factory? I thought I knew that area well but can remember nothing of that size there.
  18. What a great result. I thought it was all over when I heard we went one down and Raven off. That win, showing real bottle, should give us a real boost. Well done to all concerned. Deservedly up to 3rd at the moment.
  19. Think he trained with us for a couple of weeks whilst staying with family up here. Don't think it was ever with intention of signing him. There was talk of Hughes trying to get him on a short term deal IIRC. Asking him to play for free for a bit was quoted as well I think. Doughnut get me wrong, but expecting him to play for free is pie in the sky!
  20. H/t 1-1 F/T 1-3 ICT Watkins Killie Magennis Time 17
  21. A bit of detection work by a school pal of mine indicates that the lad second from left in top row is Robert Cameron. I know he ended up back at the IRA as a teacher in the 60s. That would be more in your era as a pupil CB, wouldn't it? Does he look familiar?
  22. I started at the Academy in 1953 but I'm struggling to recognise any of these prefects. I suspect the photo is early 50s. I feel I should know the two lads on the left of the back row but their names escape me. The girl top right on the back row, I think is Beatrice McPherson. The lady teacher is Ethel Forbes, I think, and I assume that is the Rector beside her, Dr D J McDonald. Come on fellow oldies, help me out here!
  23. 4th Jan SPFL Two for Adam Rooney for Aberdeen at Motherwell. 3rd Jan SL1 One for Rory McAllister for Peterhead at Dunfermline EL2 One for Tom Aldred for Accrington at Exeter
  24. Just watched the highlights. Neat goal by Billy after great work by Tansey and, especially Raven. Hopefully that will help improve Billy's confidence to get him back to his best soon. He does seem to need a lot more chances per goal scored this season, as evidenced by the 'one on one sitter' he missed in the first half. However, a win is a win and another 3 points in the bag. That'll do for me.
