  1. Love Meekings, would be over the moon if we could somehow keep him. He posted an instagram video from the physio room with Aaron Doran a few days ago so they are obv still hanging about the club, would that be the case if they had been released? Dunno...
  2. Get the feeling Foran might jack soon if things don't start improving but I hope he doesn't, as everyone keeps saying he has the spine of a good team it's just about getting them to perform. I am sticking behind the manager as it's lack of cash that's the real problem, something that's not going to be resolved unfortunately :/
  3. Would be gutted if Draper left, he has been immense last few seasons!
  4. Glad that Meekings is back in next to Warren, the team will be much stronger with both of them fit and up to speed. Apart from that it looks like it's going to be a tough season but I am right behind the team, let's go boys!
  5. Good job, I enjoyed reading it. Like others have said the visuals could be improved but good on you for starting something like this, really cool :)
  6. Both are really nice, will be buying them asap! :)
  7. That was my point, that the injuries this season have exposed an issue that has maybe always been there but in the last few seasons we have been pretty lucky with injuries and so have got away with it. I'm not suggesting we should be spending more cash we don't have but just pointing out that this season in particular the difficulties with remaining competitive in the league have become obvious and to me that is worrying. You want the team you've supported your whole life to be the best that it can be, there is scope for improvement and it's not all about investment in the football playing squads and the product you see on a Saturday afternoon.
  8. If I am honest I am quite worried about the future of the team as a few things have come to a head this season it seems, for instance how threadbare the squad is and how little budget we have to build and maintain a competitive squad. It seems we will be ok this year but we are relying on a loanee striker and it's only understandable that players would move team for longer contracts and a bit of stability, any of us would...as for the next few seasons to me there are worrying signs. I have a lot of other worries regarding the club off the field too, it just seems business wise there doesn't seem to be much forward thinking.
  9. Think a few folk need a reality check, since winning the cup is it not glaringly obvious how much financial strain there is on the club? We are lucky that the core of the team want to be here despite no long term assurances, just one year contracts etc. I'm afraid that is not the fault of the manager or chairman but rather a reflection on the state of modern football.
  10. Depressing game, hey I think there are plenty locals who could do a better job up top than Lopez and they would cost feck all! His anticipation is terrible, Mackay had great hold up play even when he wasn't scoring and we are desperately missing that. Lopez seems to be a few seconds too late for every ball. He nearly scored a great goal at the beggining though so fair play.
  11. Yeah it was just referencing Ultra group names with an Inverness slant, just an idea anyways. I thought it was a bit funny as well haha
  12. An idea for stickers, again the uploader completely skews the colours...they are not as eyewatering!
  13. It would be interesting to see the statistics on how many penalties he awards, it seems like a crazy amount anyway. Think a few players have him round their finger. But his refereeing is appalling, and these guys performances are scrutinised and OK'd every week. It's mad.
  14. I'm sure he knows that. With our budget, where do you suggest he gets them? To be fair he has signed Lopez. Whether Lopez is up to the job is another matter. I was surprised he didn't keep Hooper who at least could score (including one or two when he was trialling with us). Whether Mutombo can play as an out and out striker remains to be seen. I will be interested to hear what folks thought of him today. I think the euphoria of last season will soon wear off and that we will do well to retain top 6 this year. That, in fact, will be an achievement I feel. Sorry but i dont buy all this small budget crap anymore We finished third in the premiership. Won the Scottish cup and qualified for the Europa Leauge. Got loads of TV money and £150K for Billy Mckay We can afford more than just signing free trialists from the lower leagues. Dundee did this. They signged a proven goalscorer (Loy) He scores two on his debut. So what *are* we doing with all the money we have? I'm sure he knows that. With our budget, where do you suggest he gets them? Even a loan but I'd prefer it to be a permanent signing. Plus, there are/were good free agent strikers that were available (Fletcher went to Motherwell, Reilly to Hearts and Loy to Dundee). There are bound to be good players down in England or even Ireland that would be worth bidding for (loan or permanent) Yeah I agree here as well, the whole team seems incredibly threadbare and it's a big worry! On these forums there is constant reference to the lack of budget but is that the actual reality of the situation? We have after all just won the Scottish Cup. But the recent recruitment policy just seems pretty crazy, I was worried after Butcher left because it was obvious he had a great eye for spotting talent or players that would suit his style and maybe now that a few guys are leaving it's starting to show. County took Jackson Irvine on loan from Celtic last year and now he has signed and is one of the best in their team, if they can manage deals like that then surely we can. Lopez was playing 3rd tier in Spain - that is not a very high level of football we should be punching higher. So basically I'm worried haha.
  15. Here is some quick designs I made quickly yesterday after I posted that, dunno if it's the kind of thing people would be into but I just looked at other stickers and flags and had a bit of a mess around. You guys into it? p.s the uploader takes a bit of quality out of the picture, so the colours etc are a bit skewed!
  16. Seeing the fans on the news and social media all day before and after the match, absolute credit to the club and brought a big smile to my face!
  17. Hey guys I have a design background and I'm up for making flags/stickers/banners etc, really feel like creating a group like this would be great for the atmosphere and getting a few more people to attend and feel like they are a part of something!
  18. Yeah I have a few gripes with the whole marketing front around the club, it's just annoying and then you constantly hear Charlie Christie dissing the poor numbers showing up to games whenever he's on Off The Ball or National TV! They are shooting themselves in the foot, you don't need to invest significant amounts of money into marketing to make a difference even though you can, all you need is some creative thinking...look at Particks new mascot - worldwide exposure overnight right there! In the lead up to the cup final I passed through the city centre on Sunday when I was coming home from holiday (I stay in the Western Isles) and I was desperate to get my hands on a strip in the lead up but the Victorian Market shop and stadium shop were both shut, and nowhere in the city stocked the strip other than these two places(correct me if I'm wrong). This new deal at least addresses that, but in general there is absolutely no club presence in the city centre at all, if you were visiting Inverness there are no clues at all that a premiership football team play anywhere near the place! No posters or nothing, except a banner on the stadium roundabout, think about how many people up on business/travelling etc who like football and have a free Saturday could be enticed to a game. Anyway I left empty handed, I checked the online store and they weren't available and they are still unavailable although we know why now. So we won the cup, national exposure...yet you couldn't buy a strip in the online store, it's the biggest thing that's happened in the history of the club, it doesn't take much thought to realise that is the time to cash in. There are plenty examples of clubs all over the world they could nick ideas from, there are constant gripes about lack of attendance but get moving and do something about it. I'm not talking about spending loads of cash but any successful business has to have a marketing strategy to remain competitive, it seems like we have none at all. It is a bit embarrassing that Celtic have a bigger presence on Inverness high st than us I was coming back from my holiday in Bilbao, obviously there is an astronomical budget difference between us and Athletic but they are also a premiership team and the people there are MAD about the them, every garage door is painted in red and white stripes, every kid in the street is wearing their strip, they have an enormous presence in their city. It's like chalk and cheese but you aren't going to change anything if you don't even try. If anybody at the club is reading this google St Pauli, they have a big cult following and there's no reason a tiny football team in the Highlands achieving as the underdog couldn't make inroads in that area, all it takes is a bit of vision.
  19. Really well deserved, he has looked the part playing in the senior side and shone consistently helping us up to 2nd. Classy attacking midfielders with vision have really been lacking in the Scottish team of late, we have two gems in Christie and Gauld lining up to push the national team forward in the next few years, really can't wait to see it!
  20. Great video, shows how quality a player he really is! Also I thought his finish against Hamilton last week was excellent, we have one of the best finishers in the league no question.
  21. http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/27783337 Came on to read the reactions and nobody had posted! Looks like Malpas is on his hols so they haven't even let him know yet!
  22. I'm not having a go I am interested in what you both think. Is it the product on the park then? Is it the food? Can you be more specific? I think with her not being a football lover there would have to be other things there for her, you could say that maybe people that aren't that into football shouldn't really be catered for but if there is a constant complaint of lack of support and lack of money then they should look into how to make it more enjoyable for people like her...I am pretty sure she wouldnt come back with me and maybe she is not the only one, that is potential money and support the club isn't getting. I am not sure how you could do that but surely surveying peoples opinions would give a lot of insight into ways it could be done and I think a lot of the solutions could be very low cost, maybe just a bit of out of the box thinking needed! More positively I brought my brothers to a couple of other games and they really enjoyed it, I think it shows that it's not the quality on the pitch that's the problem but the overall experience.
  23. I've taken her to a lot of football/rugby games, in her opinion there was not much difference between watching my brothers amature team playing and watching Caley...his games cost £1.50 so the ref can get paid, and i have to agree other than the stadium there is not much difference, they should be worlds apart. I'm not trying to offend I am just putting forward a viewpoint that maybe those who care purely about the football may overlook
  24. I know we all have opinions on the reasons why but effective market research by the club could surely identify reasons why people aren't attending and ways that it could be changed, maybe they feel they do this already but the figures are suggesting otherwise. I would also maybe try sending a club rep out to other clubs to see how they attract fans, start with Norwich City, pretty much 90% of their stadium taken by season ticket holders...what are they doing to draw in these numbers, the negatives among us will say premier league football and higher marketing and playing budgets but surely there are things to be learned from clubs that are doing it the right way, if you shoot that down try a lower league English club who attract large numbers, there are plenty. It's that attitude I hate, a shop can't just open its doors and expect people to walk in...you are a business and it's your responsibility to make people want to be a part of your brand, a crap poster here or there isn't going to make that happen. I dragged my girlfriend along with me to the home game against Killie a few months ago and she did not enjoy the matchday experience at all, and it wasn't the football on show that offended her. If you are going to complain about low attendances surely raising the experience for people that come along with their other halves/kids/friends is the way to do it. Make attending a caley game a great day out for everyone, not just the pure football fans. That doesn't mean spending a tonne of cash on a half time show, but cant we do better than two kids walking around with a sign?! Take a look at the Glasgow Warriors match day experience, there are a lot of improvements that can be made.
  25. I think heavy policing at games has a lot more to do with the old firm and the offensive behavior at football act rushed through after Ally and Lenny squared up a few years ago than a couple of smoke bombs at the derbies. There is a ridiculous amount of stewarding as it is, you actually feel like a criminal at games these days. 1 smoke bomb, I don't seem to be as offended by this as most on here. I don't really see the danger, criminalizing fans though I find very worrying.
