  1. Another example of how well the club communicates with fans…… The club’s report: https://ictfc.com/match-report-ictfc-1-2-ayr-utd-19-02-2022
  2. Watching the “highlights”, Carson was lucky not to get a straight red rather than a second yellow for his challenge. Credit Cammy MacKay for his saves and there was nothing he could do about the goals. Like others, I’m finding our current performances soul destroying.
  3. Any of the statisticians on here know when we last went 9 league games without a win? Did it happen in our relegation seasons?
  4. Jamie McCart scored the winner for St Johnstone today. Brad Mckay was sent off for Falkirk. Dale Gillespie scored for Brora.
  5. I’m not one for calling for Managers’ heads, but if we are looking for a new Manager at some point in the near future, Tokely supported by Tremarco is worth considering. Whether we keep any of the current back room staff should be the Manager’s decision. Tokely is already with us as a youth coach.
  6. Well my hope was seriously misplaced! Another very disappointing performance and result. Ayr scored with their first attempt when we allowed a free header. Until then we’d had plenty possession and territory, but not troubled Ayr, who themselves looked abject. The game was over when we lost the second and thereafter it was desperate stuff and our formation went out of the window after Carson’s red card. For me, only MacKay, McAlear, Chalmers and Pearson get pass marks of the starting 11. Some of substitutions were strange. We should have gone three at the back with Duffy, Broadfoot and Deas after the red, but we subbed the two players who looked like they could create (Chalmers and Pearson) and at times McAlear seemed to be our only defender! We had some woeful passing, and too often just played a hopeful ball forward, forgetting we don’t have an obvious target man when the ball is in the air. I don’t like being critical of our home grown youngsters, but Harper had his poorest game and I think it highlighted the lack of confidence amongst him and many in the team. Yes we were missing a lot of players (presumably Ridgers and Welsh injured?), but that’s no excuse. That was a very poor Ayr side we were playing, and the Ayr fans summed up the afternoon for me when they were chanting “it’s so fxxxing easy”. Two TV games next. We normally do well in them. If we do, in my opinion it will be due to players trying to show other Managers what they can do in order to get a move, rather than the management team suddenly motivating them and coaching them right. 4 wins since the start of October, no wins in 9. It says it all.
  7. Sounds like Jim Goodwin going to Aberdeen.
  8. Can’t comment on your brain, Jack, but it is scheduled for Thursday: https://ictfc.com/scottish-youth-cup-semi-final
  9. HT 1-0 FT 2-1 ICT Mckay Ayr Ashford Crowd 1905
  10. An interesting comment given your political views!! Conservative victories!!
  11. Tomorrow is meant to be dry and bright (allegedly) so hopefully, given the snow is not lying at sea level, the pitch has not got too wet with today’s weather and there is no risk.
  12. Roddy MacGregor is mentioned in the club’s preview! https://ictfc.com/match-preview-ayr-united-h Any word on a pitch inspection? It’s not mentioned currently on the SPFL website but the Dunfermline - Partick game tonight is off: https://spfl.co.uk/news/pitch-inspection-48255
  13. I can’t explain why, but I’ve a good feeling about Saturday’s game and am looking forward to a home win.
  14. Scott Boden scored again for Borehamwood tonight.
  15. I hadn’t realised that Martin MacKinnon joined Clach when he left us last summer. He’s been getting rave reviews from his Manager and has signed a contract extension.
  16. In the Highland League yesterday, I noted Daniel Park for Formartine. Aiden Wilson for Rothes and Ali Sutherland for Brora. Andy Shinnie scored for Livingston in the penalty shoot out as they lost the Scottish Cup game to Hearts.
  17. He’s only human so it would not surprise me. But he delivered a cracker of a cross for Mckay’s goal. Like many of our team, I think low confidence is an issue. Hopefully Wednesday evening has helped in that regard. On communication, they have been giving updates on the progress of Devine and Doran, whilst we know Allardice is out for the season. It would be good if they gave some indication of how long MacGregor and Walsh will be out for. In MacGregor’s case in particular, he has been missing for some time with silence from the club.
  18. Particularly in the first half but we did seem to mix it up more after half time. We are at our best when we keep it down and move it quickly and with an outlet like Pearson we should now be able to punish teams. The club’s report: https://ictfc.com/match-report-ictfc-3-3-partick-thistle-09-02-2022
  19. Due to being under the weather, I’ve watched the last two livestreams, the only home games I’ve watched on livestream since fans were allowed back in. What a transformation from the pixellot fiasco. A good picture, very quick replays and two camera angles. I watch all our away games when I can’t get to the games and our offering is the best I’ve seen this season. The commentators enhance it too. Ross Tokely is excellent and compliments Iain Auld and Chris MacLennan very well. Credit where credit is due, but I am looking forward to being back in the ground next Saturday. It is just a pity that they didn’t switch to this last season as Davie (I think) advised us the technology was in place and working.
  20. Ryan Christie for Bournemouth and Ali Sutherland for Brora tonight.
  21. Yes, been very impressed when watching the stream on Saturday and today when confined to being at home. Very knowledgable and spot on comments. We should snap him up as a coach!
  22. I agree entirely. We seemed much more motivated and intent than in recent games, and I’m much more hopeful that we can turn this round. We created a lot of chances, particularly in the second half, and looked the more likely until we conceded the penalty. We stopped always playing long hopeful balls and it improved our play. Pearson was the pick for me, but I also feel Sutherland played much better than he is being given credit for. It’s only one game, and we didn’t win it, but this should give us some momentum which hopefully gets us a win against Ayr in 10 days. Everyone is dropping points, so we are still in contention despite our atrocious run. There is still hope that we can salvage something from the wreckage of the last two months.
