  1. Can’t complain about the penalty. 3-2 down. Frustrating as we’ve been better this half. Deas lucky not to get a second booking. Harper on for Deas.
  2. 2-2. Sutherland header! McAlear corner and difficult finish at back post. Possibly more than we deserve but we have been much better than Saturday. We need to gain confidence from this and push on in the second half and play to our strengths.
  3. Didn’t last long. 2-1 down. Both goals created by Tiffoney getting past Carson and setting Graham up for easy headers.
  4. 1-1. Mckay. Pearson teed Carson up for great cross and Mckay got free to score easily. Come on!!
  5. Same long ball tactics and just not working so far. We don’t have a target man so what’s the point of it! Every second ball seems to be being won by Partick. We need to play it on the ground and see what Pearson and Samuels can create. They seem to have lost all their confidence too.
  6. Wonder what the formation will be: 4 at the back, but width from Pearson and either Samuels or Sutherland and 2 up front? Just the livestream for me again. Hopefully we get a much better performance than Saturday and surprise all of us by getting a win.
  7. I am not sure if I will make the game tomorrow as still not totally fit, so it may be the livestream again (which I thought was a good product on Saturday). I’d not normally contemplate missing a game, but do I want to watch a repeat of recent performances whilst risking a relapse due to getting cold and, possibly, wet? I am sure many will be having thoughts about whether to bother attending tomorrow’s game, which should be a concern to the club. That said, if fit I know I will definitely be there to give my support, and hoping we suddenly show signs of being able to get our season back on track.

    Sam Pearson

I agree, I’ve been quite impressed with what I’ve seen of him in the two games he has played part of. It may be he is not fully match fit yet, but I’ve had given him 90 minutes based on his performances. A pacy wide player, who seems able to play on both wings and is prepared to have attempts at goal is just what we need.

  10. Agreed. I’d have taken off one of the front three, probably Sutherland.

    TV Games

Two of our only four wins since the end of September have been our TV games. If we keep winning them and failing to win our other games, what does that tell us about the motivation of our players?
  12. Coll Donaldson scored for Dunfermline today. In the Highland League, Ali Sutherland for Brora, Andy MacAskill for Buckie and Kevin McHattie for Brechin.
  13. Remember the end of September? We were top of the league, with 19 points out of 21. Admittedly, some of our performances did not reflect a top of the table team. Just over four months later, we are somehow still in a play off place. But we’ve only taken 19 points out of 51 in that time. Worse still, we’ve taken 4 out of our last 21. That is relegation form. On paper, we have a decent squad with a good mix of youth and experience. So what has gone wrong? Is our management team not capable of motivating and coaching the players right? Do they know what our best team actually is? Don’t they trust some of our players? In particular, Harper and MacGregor have had less game time, when fit, than we might have expected, whilst Jamieson was not given a chance. Is there discontent amongst the playing squad about the management team? Was Gardyne the reason for our early form? Are there lasting wounds off the pitch from the Gardyne debacle? Have Carson’s off field issues affected his performances and form? How badly have we missed players like Allardice and MacGregor, recognising MacGregor has not seemed to be a first pick this season when he has been fit? Are we playing players out of position needlessly? Do the players lack ambition? Is it bigger than that? The Board seem to have done a good job with stabilising our finances, but do they not want us to get promoted, as they know we can’t afford to strengthen the squad to be competitive in the top league? I am sure others will have other theories, but all the early promise of this season has gone, we are a struggling side, promotion looks a lost cause and we have a rebuilding job to do for next season.
  14. Not a lot to say about that game! We were very poor, but so were Morton. We didn’t deserve anything from the game as we didn’t create any good opportunities and never looked like scoring. Ridgers late save stopped it being even worse. Our formation didn’t work in the first half, but the second was no better, and some of the substitutions were strange, particularly taking Chalmers and Deas off. We seemed to lack confidence and belief throughout the game, and we created very little, resorting to hopeful balls and giving the front players little to work with. We have senior players in Ridgers, Welsh, Broadfoot, Sutherland and Mckay, who should give us leadership, but I’m not seeing it in games. I found myself relieved I wasn’t sitting in the stand and feeling sorry for those who were there. I was not surprised to hear boos at full time. 4 points out of 21 is a startling statistic. We are not title or promotion contenders as things stand. To end on a positive, Nicolson looks to have potential.
  15. Hardy on for Chalmers. We are huffing and puffing again and not looking like scoring.
  16. Carson on for Pearson so presumably 4 at the back. Important 45 ahead.
  17. I may be criticised for saying this, but I don’t have any sympathy with them. It’s been crazy as fans leave due to where cars are being parked this season.
  18. A very disappointing half. After a couple of hopeful attacks we lost a soft goal and have not threatened much since the goal. For me the formation is not working, and Pearson and Chalmers as wing backs are playing deeper than we need them which is limiting their effectiveness. Too many players seem unclear of their roles and who they should be picking up. I’d change it and bring Carson on at right back and go 4 4 2, sacrificing one of the front three. That would allowPearson and Chalmers to get forward more than they’ve managed so far and hopefully create decent chances. As things stand, Morton deserve the lead. Its the first home livestream I’ve watched this season. Much better quality and decent commentary. Ross Tokely is spot on with his comments.
  19. 0-1. Poor defending. It’s been a flat game so far but we need a positive reaction now.
  20. Three at the back? Good to see Mckay back but light on subs again. Presumably Walsh is another injury absentee.
