  1. He's pretty much stating the obvious. It's so blatant it hurts as bad as my hangover. Clearly a team on the same street who are your big rivals and your local derby are going to bring much more of a support than a team a 100 miles up the road and from a smaller city. Im actually hoping that Ross County get promoted if we stay up instead of Dundee because it will be better for us. Local rivals and will bring out more home and away fans. It would be bad for everyone else but I don't care because it would be good for us financially and football wise.
  2. Esson would definitely be my number 1 choice. He's got the experience and is coming into what is normally prime for a keeper. He was exceptional for us this season and had he not been dropped for Fraser come the end of last season we might never have went down. If Esson were not to stay then Tuffey would certainly be a exceptional replacement with his whole career in front of him. I very much doubt we'd ever get both. Neither would accept being understudy.
  3. As long as the new rules state No grounds for appeal and that rules are rules and that everyone knows them before entering the competition then I think it's a step forward in the clarification stakes. People moan that "if it happened to the bigger teams" Well the thing is it hardly ever seems to be the bigger teams that are at fault. More often than not it's the lower league teams. I don't want to stick up for the bigger teams but thats just how it seems to me.
  4. So 2 down (tied up on new deals that is), 3 (Tokely, Esson and Proctor) to go. Hopefully all will get sorted out. I'd like to think that if Essons issue is not getting the extra year on his deal it wouldn't be too difficult to sort that out surely. And I thought Proctor was keen for a new deal?
  5. Well it's his money and he's got plenty of it to squander. I'd be slightly worried about crazy debt like that if I was a chelsea fan though.
  6. Do you think we've somehow stirred the pot a little by taking the league from them?
  7. Yeah I'd take Cregg. Would give added impetous in the middle I reckon. Benji would want too much and has an attitude and the less said about the Calamity the better.
  8. from BBC, Dire warning over Dundee future
  9. He still managed to get half a dozen goals in his 1st season in the league as a bit part part player. As a regular, with quality players to support him, it seems logical to assume he'll get more.
  10. I think Parker would be a decent shout if he fancies coming back north. Think he used to have a little rep as a big time charlie before but surely years at the likes of Oldham and Blackpool will have brought him down a peg(if Im correct in the assumption)
  11. Said on other thread but quite frankly they let themselves down, their fans down. They let the WHOLE of the highlands down! HA HA HA! Who will be the first on the County site to tell them this. IHE i challenge thee!
  12. Oh dear... this weary old myth surfaces again!! B) I personally know plenty people who chose to move on and support Ross County after the merger than went on to support ICT. I was walking into Victoria Park at the last C*unty v ICT game....and bumped into a dozen or so EX Caley fans, with county scarfes, and that was just going along behind main stand! Also...my facebook is littered with similar minded Inverness folk. So Charles...you call it a myth...I know its a fact! But how many is "plenty"? It goes to show how any decent investment can propel a club forward. But it's not really all that big an achievement really I mean anyone can beat Hibs and Celtic! As it happens Ross County, barring Keddie in the 1st half, failed to turn up today. Quite frankly they let themselves down. They let their fans down In fact they let the whole of the Highlands down. Shame on them!
  13. Yeah I'd mirror that. Doubt we could afford their wages unless they take a sufficient drop in wages.
  14. Saint Johnstone have announced that eight players are to leave the Scottish Premier League club. Alan Main, Gary Irvine, Paul Sheerin, Euan McLean, Gavin Swankie and Josh Falkingham have been released by Saints manager Derek McInnes. I think that Alan Main would superb backup but not sure he'd like that role at his age. Gary Irvine was only released to free up money for transfers but was their player of the year last season in Promotion and would complement our squad nicely IMHO. He is 25 and plays both at right back or on the right wing. Gavin Swankie is another I think could do well for us He's coming up for 27 so again best years to come. Plays left side which I think could maybe allow Foran to play in a more central free role. Paul Sheerin is probably past it, Euan Mclean again a decent back up keeper perhaps outwith others and Josh Falkingham is probably a no.
  15. Well in that case...... deal off. greedy f....
  16. Don't think Morais is one of players let go by St Johnstone yesterday. And I dont think he'd pick us if he still has a chance of deal at St J. Not sure about Moutinho. Has talent and experience but doesn't score alot and we already have enough attacking mid types. He's similar to Sanchez except he is perhaps older and more of the finished article. But I guess I'd take him.
  17. I'd take him back but not too fussed if we don't. Decent enough.
  18. Roddy Mackenzie has been released by Livi, has been at SPL before and is 34 (experienced) and has his coaching badges (well some). Would be a good should for a back up I reckon and he could take the youth keepers perhaps? I'd actually take Malone (as good as we've if not better at Left Back) Malcolm (pants for Dundee but was good at Well at SPL level) Hart (decent enough for a squad player at least and has connection with club) and Klimp (thought he was good in SPL too) I reckon a cheeky bid for Curier wouldn't go amiss. Might feel cheated by Dundee and want to stay in SPL. Though reckon he'd choose Hamilton over us.
  19. Us and County got a highland 2 page spread the other day there. Celebrating our achievements of us winning the SFL1 and County getting to the Cup final. So a vast improvement i'd say.
  20. My thoughts exactly caleyboy and some seem to forget that Bob Malcolm played for Derby in the Premiership and Im pretty sure was in their promotion gaining team. He found himself at Dundee last season after leaving Motherwell where he did quite well. I imagine Dundee gave him higher wages. So it's not beyond feasibility. Both are Scottish (well sort of in big Jay's case) and if you don't try you never know. Who says top flight football would not win over salary?
  21. Allison - Decent young keeper but Terry probably reckons he can find someone better and more experienced for back up Lionel Djebi Zadi - Decent going forward but a complete bombscare. We need a solid depndable back line first and foremost and he is anything but. Duff - Looked fairly promising so gutted for the guy but a crutiate knee injury can be an awful thing to come back from and perhaps being released could be a blessing. He will get the support of ICT throughout his rehab for the time being and at least now can take his time getting back as to avoid rushing back and making sure his knee is ready. He only needs look at Wilkie and Kennedy. Both of them qualify for disabled badges their injuries got so bad. So the best thing for him to do would take his time, get some qualifications in his recovery time for insurance and start again at a lower level. The cream nearly aways rises to the top and he can set himself on doing that. Stratford - Looked good in flashes but of the pace at times in the 1st and would be found wanting most likely at SPL level. Good enough for SFL1 football. Bulvitus - Thought his promise and relatively young age would have been in his favour. He's versitile and good for the odd goal. Thought he would have been a decent back up to have for CB and RB. There may have been mitigating circumstances- Wage demands, A fee (still only 21 and is Latvia outside EU(?) therefore doesn't nessesarily count as Bosman) may be involved. Butcher has seen better elsewhere. Eagle - He is 23 now and due to the under 21 rule, the fact he is fairly average and couldn't get a game it's probably the correct decision. Hopefully we get the rest we need sorted out. Like Esson. Backup for defence and in goals is priority I'd say followed by a centre forward. A centre mid and wide left also.
  22. I may have said this before but in Europe the captaincy has no real importance and is usually bestowed uopn the oldest or most experienced player. Its only really in the UK that it seems to mean so much.
  23. Noticed the 2 have been allowed to go and find clubs. I reckon big Jay would be a decent fit for the Left back position. It's whether he'd want to come and take a probably hefty wage cut. Not so keen on Teale. Never seen him play well.
  24. Top Bananas! Wooooo! Esson, Tokely and Procotr next please. The news get s better and better.
  25. Would the club not owe the equivilant value at the time the case was lodged though. And not just the ?250k irregardless of current value to the pound?
