Well in that case...... deal off. greedy f....
-
Don't think Morais is one of players let go by St Johnstone yesterday. And I dont think he'd pick us if he still has a chance of deal at St J. Not sure about Moutinho. Has talent and experience but doesn't score alot and we already have enough attacking mid types. He's similar to Sanchez except he is perhaps older and more of the finished article. But I guess I'd take him.
-
I'd take him back but not too fussed if we don't. Decent enough.
-
Roddy Mackenzie has been released by Livi, has been at SPL before and is 34 (experienced) and has his coaching badges (well some). Would be a good should for a back up I reckon and he could take the youth keepers perhaps? I'd actually take Malone (as good as we've if not better at Left Back) Malcolm (pants for Dundee but was good at Well at SPL level) Hart (decent enough for a squad player at least and has connection with club) and Klimp (thought he was good in SPL too) I reckon a cheeky bid for Curier wouldn't go amiss. Might feel cheated by Dundee and want to stay in SPL. Though reckon he'd choose Hamilton over us.

Us and County got a highland 2 page spread the other day there. Celebrating our achievements of us winning the SFL1 and County getting to the Cup final. So a vast improvement i'd say.

My thoughts exactly caleyboy and some seem to forget that Bob Malcolm played for Derby in the Premiership and Im pretty sure was in their promotion gaining team. He found himself at Dundee last season after leaving Motherwell where he did quite well. I imagine Dundee gave him higher wages. So it's not beyond feasibility. Both are Scottish (well sort of in big Jay's case) and if you don't try you never know. Who says top flight football would not win over salary?
-
Allison - Decent young keeper but Terry probably reckons he can find someone better and more experienced for back up Lionel Djebi Zadi - Decent going forward but a complete bombscare. We need a solid depndable back line first and foremost and he is anything but. Duff - Looked fairly promising so gutted for the guy but a crutiate knee injury can be an awful thing to come back from and perhaps being released could be a blessing. He will get the support of ICT throughout his rehab for the time being and at least now can take his time getting back as to avoid rushing back and making sure his knee is ready. He only needs look at Wilkie and Kennedy. Both of them qualify for disabled badges their injuries got so bad. So the best thing for him to do would take his time, get some qualifications in his recovery time for insurance and start again at a lower level. The cream nearly aways rises to the top and he can set himself on doing that. Stratford - Looked good in flashes but of the pace at times in the 1st and would be found wanting most likely at SPL level. Good enough for SFL1 football. Bulvitus - Thought his promise and relatively young age would have been in his favour. He's versitile and good for the odd goal. Thought he would have been a decent back up to have for CB and RB. There may have been mitigating circumstances- Wage demands, A fee (still only 21 and is Latvia outside EU(?) therefore doesn't nessesarily count as Bosman) may be involved. Butcher has seen better elsewhere. Eagle - He is 23 now and due to the under 21 rule, the fact he is fairly average and couldn't get a game it's probably the correct decision. Hopefully we get the rest we need sorted out. Like Esson. Backup for defence and in goals is priority I'd say followed by a centre forward. A centre mid and wide left also.

I may have said this before but in Europe the captaincy has no real importance and is usually bestowed uopn the oldest or most experienced player. Its only really in the UK that it seems to mean so much.
-
Noticed the 2 have been allowed to go and find clubs. I reckon big Jay would be a decent fit for the Left back position. It's whether he'd want to come and take a probably hefty wage cut. Not so keen on Teale. Never seen him play well.

Top Bananas! Wooooo! Esson, Tokely and Procotr next please. The news get s better and better.
-
Would the club not owe the equivilant value at the time the case was lodged though. And not just the ?250k irregardless of current value to the pound?
-
Bullock - ? Soutar - ? Eddie Malone - ? Darren Young - ? Bob Malcolm - Yes Ritchie Hart - Yes Klimpl - Yes I'd probably take Shinnie or Hutchison on loan too.
-
You not overvaluing County there. ?50 quid seems a little steep. Mind you 50p seems steep.
-
I'd go with 11 fans as trialists. Dundee will surely bottle the propositon of playing the IHE! I'd go with what is our usual 11 but bring on 3 subs early doors to get them in on the celebrations and allow some players standing ovations (ie Rooney, Tokely and lets say Foran or Hayes)
-
Just thought getting this to the top before the game tomorrow was morally the correct thing to do.
-
I'd go with the 16 team with the 8-8 split play each other once but it would throw up the we played them 3 times away debate again. Thats the main problem. I think it would be interesting to have bottom 2 down, Top 2 up. Next bottom 2 go to play offs with 3rd 4th teams in SFL1. Chance of 4 teams going down makes competition far greater. And you get a situation of 4 down 4 in Europe. No idea how a split would ever be implemented fairly while not being too many games. unless it was 14 teams but then bottom 7 complain about losing revenue to bigger teams for home and away.
-
If the bottom 2 were to go down automatically, surely the top two from the league below would come up? with 3rd bottom playing 3rd top?
-
Roddy Mackenzie, 34,From Livingston, Possible GK backup? Has coaching creditentials. Darren Smith, 22, Motherwell. Not been released but quoted as expecting to leave. Dundee Utd Greg Cameron, 21, made debut at 16 but hasn't really pushed on. I think there will be a fair few experienced players released in the SPL and alot of hungry young kids looking to prove themselves. Discuss and so forth....

Dundee's relentless march to the title.....
Council Juice replied to tm4tj's topic in General Football
HA HAH AHA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! Thats all I can think to say on this now. We are 9 points clear at mo. If we win this weekend that will be 12 points clear of 2nd. A 24 point swing people! NOW THATS TECKLE! -
Great news on the 3 deals! The only possible way I could see Rossco leaving is if a very good 3 year deal was put in front of him. The kind that would set him up nicely for retirement. Or if Im right in thinking this, he is a Jambo yeah? If they wanted a new defender he might be tempted. So I'd be right in thinking we have Odi, Foran, Cox, Rooney, Munro and, eh Duncan(?) for next season. We now need IMO Tokely, Hayes, Proctor, Esson, Bulvitis and Duff perhaps too (Dont know his status) and another year for Sanchez. Hopefully get promising youngsters like Sutherland/Shinnie/Morrison secured for the future. This would give around a 1st team squad of 16 to build upon. I've probably missed some really obvious names out. Ooops just in case As much as I like and respect Golly and Roy, Im not sure they've got it for the SPL anymore though Im sure more regular attenders of games than me would be better suited to judge that. They would offer invaluable experience of the SPL and are part of the club. They would at least offer excellent cover but we need to secure other players to compete in their positions I would think.

The only thing good to come out of this thread would be an apology from the OP. A totally unjustified person attack. Slanderous! Sometimes mud sticks. I've been on the wrong end of an unjustified racism claim for calling the England football team "crap" when I was 11 before we played them at Euro '96. Had to write a letter of apology for saying that. Despite 6 witnesses speaking up for me. Teacher was English though and anti Scottish "Never seen spitting till I came to Scotland." Had i not been so young and naive I'd have told her where to shove it. Thankfully the thread is so utterly laughable in context that surely no right minded person would construe the act of wearing a morph costume as racism. To the brother of ICTKev, please wear the costume to a game again. And continue to support with humour. I only see one person who seems to have lost their common sense. Whereas the rest are just baffled the thread was even started.

Well if Leicester have any more players like Cox and Hayes in their reserves it would be a good shout having a wee look. If we keep the nucleus of our current team (which must be viewed as key): I think our priority is a good solid left back. I dont think DZ is good enough defensively and we should let him go and I doubt Golly has the legs to be a 1st choice SPL left back(but might be worth keeping on). I wouldn't want to throw Shinnie in there as he hasn't really played at a high enough level. Might be worth seeing if anyone in the 1st would take him for a season. I dont think we really need to sign a keeper. We are only looking for a back up so getting someone on loan might be worth looking into perhaps. And even then we might only need to do that if something long term was to happen to Esson. I think a less advanced creative midfield player would be a good shout. Odi is certainly worth keeping on going be recent performances. Sanchez might also be worth another year. Another striker and Centre half (Pavels?) would also be good. I'd take Vigurs back in a heartbeat. But I'd reitterate keeping the team together.

Im pretty sure the trophy will already be on it's be on it's way to Inverness. The only the possibly winners (mathematically) are going to be playing there after all. Im just gutted I cant make it. Been really bad for me this season in terms of games... again. I was fully gonna do it but Im going to a engagement party that day- be pretty tight gettin back. Some people are sooo inconsiderate when it comes to a day to celebrate such things. Will somebody be a gem and take loads of photos. Oh and do you think it would be possible to ask the highlights man to take a video of the trophy of the trophy presentation? It would not be part of the match highlights as post game surely. And Im sure the club would love to flaunt it on the website. The league will have photograhers from papers there. possible TV crew anyway. News crews generally wont hold exclusive rights to such thinks I'd imagine as there is Sky, BBC ITV etc all vying for such thinks for a 10 seconds clip on the sports section. Be good to enquire. Maybe the club could even launch another DVD? Why am I not the commercial manager? It makes no sense.
