Dundee's relentless march to the title.....
Council Juice replied to tm4tj's topic in General Football
I can't even remember when he was at Dump Ferm Land, He was at Dundee took them to SPL Im sure then left. Think he finished the 1st SPL season they came up and finished 5th. I then think he took a job in Engerlundshire. Notts County maybe? -
I'd be happy to see Stratford and Eagle leave. Wouldn't be too bothered. Dont know how signing Eagle over keeping Vigurs has in any way benifited the club. At least Vigurs knew the club, set up and his team mates well. I think we should try and sell Barrowman. He doesn't play and he's on a good earner no doubt so we may as well try and get something for him. And if an offer we can't refuse for Imrie comes in....
-
I think thats pretty much what the team will be. Odiambho will probably be involved at some point I imagine. Same with Imrie. Im just suprised we might actually be playing a game of football. Been aaaaageeeeessss!

Hamilton are just taking advantage of having a very good setup geared towards youth and the fact they have a good reputation for it. Also given their location so close to Glasgow they can offer young players the location they crave. As most of their young kids are from that area.

Dundee's relentless march to the title.....

Pretty certain he was the one who took them up last time before leaving to allow the Bonetti's to come in. -
You could have got me a pie whilst you were missing the goal I hated being a student with no money. And Clyde pies are good.
-
He hasn't been getting a game and I think he may have been out of contract at the end of the season. Athletico wanted rid. Probably on good wages so were happy to let him go for nothing. And it was almost 4 years ago he scored that peach for Argentina.

County starting to plan for the SPL
Council Juice replied to tokelyisvictorious's topic in General Football
Maybe if we get there before them they could groundshare with us. We are a caring community club... plus the rent money would come in handy. -
Well there is only so much you can do with Brewster calling the shots. Some might say he worked miracles in that case.

that is a strange one :D He's decent Sorenson, dependable, but he aint all that great. Not one of the best in the EPL and not as good as James You would have thought stoke would have signed him if there losing there number one keeper  Wouldnt be surprised if Stoke go and try to sign Boruc seeing as Zaluska can probably hold his own for Celtic Better going for Zaluska, he may have only just signed a contract in the summer but I think he'd still be cheaper than Boruc.

I remember the name spider, but i can't remember much about the guy. I thought he had left by then but if he was on the bench i guess not. Clyde were always a tough unit. No real great players but real hard dirty sods at the back (Simon Mensing, John Potter etc) Going forward the one who always (not because he was all that great) gave us trouble was that wee McConalogue. We beat them when it mattered though and Im sure they remember that as well as us.
-
Its a bit shoddy on behalf of the club if its true. I can't see us getting away with paying any less that what we are due. Do you think, if we offered to pay in installments Mr Niculae would accept as long as he got the full amount due?
-
And I was one of them. It was freezin and I spent all my money trying get to the game. Train late and everything. Was also there for the 2nd last game of the season when we won 2-1. That was much warmer and better a game. Though I was so poor that day I couldn't afford a pie. :( Oh and sorry about my ignorance but which Stewart was it on the bench for both the Clyde defeat and who came on against Celtic. Really can't remember.

It seems crazy to have given a 35 year old a new contract and then barely use him over the course of the season (thus far) He is exactly the experienced cool head we need in midfield. Then when you had the likes of a promising player in Vigurs not being offered a deal it's even more baffling. Then we have the likes of previous long term servants such as Wyness, offered a contract then having it taken away. Wilson- completely ignored by a manager who had previously discredited him in his previous spell. Ian Black - given no encouragement by the manager that he was wanted and made to train with under 19s without any real explanation John Rankin- Told he could leave the when he pretty much secured Brewster his manager of the month begged to stay. Had aparrently just bought a house in Inverness so was wanting to stay. I'd hate to think how the club are going to treat Munro and Tokely.

You could always try online. Im sure subside sports used to do something like that. Though you may have had to send in badge and sponser and these would be incorperated into a plain strip and they could also be numbered up. Failing that, the main sports shops like Sports Division(JJB)/ Soccer Sport used to do that (plain numbers) down in Edinburgh. I cant even remember if there is one of these in Inverness, never mind if the companies still accomodate the service.

Given the score at the time it does kind of seem a bit of a harsh decision, but looking deeper, teams have to take responsibility for their actions. As do players. They can't continue to use the "we didn't mean it though" excuse. I don't think Dunfermline tried to gain an advantage but rules are rules and this has to be the case to run a credible competition. Though I think it should be a blanket rule- Play an ineligible player and the minimum punishment is a replay. More than 1 count of playing an ineligible player should result in being thrown out of the competition. Dunfirmline should now use this and learn from the mistake and ensure it doesnt happen again. One thing i do agree on though is I very much doubt the Old Firm would be kicked out for something similar, however I can't see something like this happening at one of the Old Firm. And I dont think it is the Journalists responsibility to inform the club, nor his moral obligation to do so. Clubs have emploees to check these things and if they make an error they have to take responsibility.

Celtic obviously. All the musos support 'the peoples club'. I thought Rangers were "the Peepell"
-
I dont see how Strachan didnt rate Robson. He would have played him far more no doubt had he not been injured for alot of last season. Also Caldwell was Strachans no1 defender. I cant remember him making anywhere near as many mistakes as he has this season under Strachan. Then again all Mowbray teams are a little hap hazard when it comes to defending.
-
Alan Maitland? as in the former Clyde manager? famed as the manager there who at 1 nil down would bring on a defender to secure defeat. Eh naw. Reckon we could do better than that.
-
Thought they got rid of the reserves league at the end of last season. They did but teams still have back up players or reserves. They just dont get to play anymore.
-
"Any chance your brother has a job going? Brewster cannae get nowt and nobody else likes me" Good luck to the guy, whatever reason he got the job for, whether it be connections or merits or both.
-
A scottish cup run would be great. Get to the semi's and draw old of the auld filth. Would be great financially for the club. Probably better than having us win the league this year and having to reinvest in the team again and place a further financial burden on the club.
-
Little chance of making any financial gains from any of our short term contracted players? Looks like unless we shed some dead wood that there is no budget to bring anyone in. I think your really reading between the lines if thats meant to suggest economic woe. It sounds like common sense - move on the players who wont play and perhaps look to enhance the squad. Trimming the squad is just to streamline things. There is no point having things(in this case playing staff) that are not being used. Even a rich club would accept that. If thats an ICT home program that may be down to Inverness listing their players in reserve whilst only listing the squad Dundee have brought with them to the game. Or something like that. Irregardless of our financial situation, we have too many players who are not competing for a first team place and it would benefit both them, and the club, if they were to move on to fresh pastures.

I think even if Willo Flood was suffering from a massive shortage in self confidence, he surely knows he is better than SFL level. Caldwell and Robson having medicals today at Boro' Roma say they and Fulham have agreed deal for Stefano Otaka to go to London on loan for the remainder of the season.
