  1. Read article in Sunday broadsheet sports column pull out (cant remember which 1 like) that with his contract being up at end of season, he's not sure if he's gonna stay, not only as he's not been offered a contract but because he feels he is still young and wants to play at a higher level. Im getting a touch worried. Offer the lad a 5 year deal to get him to see out his career here. 1 year for every 100 games he's played for us.
  2. He should be one of the 1st to be offered a new deal, before bringing anyone else in as well. We need to keep a hold of great servants like Tokely and Munro or we'll lose all the team identity we have. They know what the club is about and that will be vital if we are to ever get out of this league.
  3. He's pretty much spot on by calling him a boot licking though. And in hindsight Neville was a bit moronic in coming out before the game as it did nought but rile Tevez up and make him desperate to gun Utd down. Tevez comes across in a very says what he's thinking type. I think he wanted to point out also he had nothing against United, just Neville for needlessly talking about him. I dont think Tevez is the brightest. He comes across a bit slow (properly, like medically, slow) He still can hardly speak a wod of English to his own admission - thats after 3 and a half years. On other points I dont see Tevez and Rooney as all that much alike other than their near identical goals to games ratio this season. Rooney plays with more tact and is as well as looking to score, tries to play others in (He has a fairly high assist rate). Tevez chases everything for 80 minutes. You'll often notice by this point he'll be knackered and gets subbed. He reminds me of the Tazmanian Devil cartoon- Very eager, but doesn't play with intelligence, however creates havoc in his wake. He looks quite similar to Taz too. As for his valuation, yeah ?25 million* is pretty steep and United had already paid ?6m* towards the loan. so ?31* million in total plus wages. Probably too much. However he will get 20 goals a season if given a run and the United fans wanted him to stay. ?34m for Berba. Bit of a rip off. Take 15 of that and you've got a much closer valuation. However sometimes I think alot of his play goes unnoticed. He may not score the hatfuls that would be expected but his all round game in hold up play and bringing others into the game is very good. I too think it will be more to do with Man U's defensive losses than attacking woes that will see them lose the league. But another 10-20 goals might have helped that. Who knows. Frankly I wonder if City do become the force they aim to be then I'm not sure Tevez would be 1st choice any longer. The likes of Kaka, Eto'o may be more willing to join if Man City are winning things. But it was still a pretty funny read irregardless on whether its correct or not. (*these are estimated sums based on tabloid valuations)
  4. What, like Dundee?
  5. As ever great help. Thankyou. I will do my upmost to let him know of his life failings.
  6. Read and applaud -Tevez bites back "He acted like a complete boot-licker when he said I wasn't worth ?25m, just to suck up to the manager," he added. :D
  7. Utterly farcical decision. Rules were broken and thepunishment was set. It seemed entirely fair that if you can't follow a simple rule then you get removed from the competition. Once again the SFA have shown themselves as toothless and incompetant. And Dunfermline will no doubt profit from this by playing the game again and getting through to face Celtic I believe. I think the least they can do is give all gate receipts from the 1st game to Stenny because they'll make a hatful from the Celtic game. Lets have set rules and set punishments - no appeal system. You make an error, your out (or whatever the punishment is set at) Make another error at a later date and banned for a year! No wonder Scottish football is sometimes viewed as Mickey Mouse.
  8. Cheers, keep 'em coming thick n fast.
  9. Pleasantly suprised he was only booked 85 times in his 499 appearances for the club. Thats less than Black used to get in a season!
  10. One of my friends has recently moved up North and has started frequenting Ross County games , so I was wondering if anyone has that picture of the caravan and plane. Or any other amusing wind ups used over the years that I can hit him with all at once to show him the error of his ways.

  12. Its not like it's never happened before though. Rangers were beating Hibs 1-0 at Easter Road and both team stopped trying as news had filtered through that Celtic had been beaten by Motherwell and if Rangers were to win they won the league so they just played keep ball and hibs too sat back. Its happened before in the Champions league. Can't remember exactly who but It may have been a Galatasaray game perhaps where both teams were to advantage to settle for the status quo. If draws are to be allowed then it should be of no harm to the teams playing to accept it if it benifits them. If 1 point is enough then the draw is enough. Just as a draw would have saved us last season.
  13. Not to worry, we could always get Phil Maguire back..... On second thoughts... GET IT SORTED!
  14. Whilst he might be able to play at right back more than adequately, I'd much rather just play him at right back and sign a decent left back. Wishful thinking perhaps I know
  15. See Mali are complain that Algeria and Angola played for their draw and therefore did not play in the spirit of Fifas fair play ethics or something. Sorry but am I wrong here. Is a draw not a perfectly fair result? Are you not allowed to use a tactical ploy to get a result which will see your team through. If neither team wants to risk conceding a goal then they have every right to not over exert themselves. If it had been arranged between the teams, fair enough, then thats basically match fixing. It just seems like sour grapes from Mali because their head to head record with Algeria saw them go out. Dont get me wrong, if MY team was knocked out of a tournament or relegated because two teams played for the draw that suited them both I'd probably feel a pretty hard done by. However I think I'd have to accept that draws are part and parcel of football and that unless there is blatant attempts. and evidence, to fix that result to the advantage of both teams then its not really right to complain and you just have to move on. Mali want the CAF to act and discredit the result (ie no point for either team meaning they would go through) without any proof other than it didn't suit them, which would to me, just show how farcical and amateur African football, in general, is.
  16. Thats the problem. We equaled them, at least, in all of our games thus far but couldn't beat them. They have a knack of getting a result out of nothing, whereas we can play well and get beaten witha fluke. More often than not we dont win unless we outplay the opposition. Dundee, however, manage to grind victories out, even if they play poorly. Its something we'll have to start doing to have a realistic go at winning the league.
  17. I think they might be a bit out of our wage barrier Aye just by a wee bit Well I was talkin to wee Messi and he said if there was any club he'd be willing to play for nothing for it would be Caley Thistle. No wait, thats just something I made up.
  18. Its certainly possible that we could go on a run of games. And we have players capable. I dont think though that even if Dundee do slip up it will not be big enough for them to be caught. And we have yet to see what they will do in the January window.
  19. I also thought that, it wasn't just us that thought that though, Billy stark had him down as one of the best younsters in scotland in the paper a couple of months back. it is clear that we only play players that are on a wage at this club. If he was that good then surely there would have been bigger teams in for him when we released him. Not that big a loss for me and cant see him going onto bigger and better things Really? But then again, you do seem to be one those posters that think Butcher is the greatest thing to happen to ICT ever... Whilst location is a big factor in why sides like Hamilton do so well, I have thought myself that perhaps at times ICT have cast the net too far to look for players. There must surely be one or two local guys, perhaps even in the Highland League, who have potential, and with perhaps a bit of training could make the step up to this level. Well it worked for Steve Paterson. Found a few gems in the highland league did he not?
  20. Liam Polworth, and to an extent Kyle Whyte? We've also got Nick Ross and Graeme Shinnie, but sadly we are stuck with a management team, who just don't rate them. Is it not rate.......or is it just that directors/management are still in the "get back up this season" mindset, and experience in ICT's U-19 youth squad pales into insignificance compared to those with even limited experience of games in the lower divisions elsewhere? Perhaps, if/when, we are sitting comfortably in the middle of the table, out of relegation or promotion danger, then the building for the future will begin and good younger players will get their chance to show what they can do. If not, why bother having a youth set-up at all? We neither appear to use it or make money out of it. That one thing I've always noticed at ICT. We rarely seem to bring on players of our own and instead either poach from county or in the past Aberdeen (Duncan, Wyness, Rory Mac) I'd like to see some kids get their chance of the bench. Blood them in. And not look for replicas elsewhere, who probably command higher wages anyway.
  21. First of all I'm not a caller, I'm a poster on a forum. Secondly my 'point' was to help you find an answer to your question, to do so I highlighted what the OP said which answered your question directly :D Anyway I reakon we'll go with: Edit: Took it out as it's the same as Iamthecaptain, and my attempt at putting the names in the correct positions was dreadful. And I only nicked mine from the renegade.
  22. :D Can you not remember Anelka's years in an ICT shirt Kev? Not suprised, he found it hellish trying to get in ahead of Wyness and Co
  23. The phrase "ya can't polish a turd" springs to mind,Jocky's no everybodies idea of a good manager but his teams will always be very hard to beat, was treated very badly at Dens last time round with the Marrs Bonnetti era seeing him out the door as we were in our highest SPL position, hopefully he can see the job through this time. He did sweet FA at Hibs, and next to nothing at Dundee in his first spell in charge... He's got lucky this time round by virtue of having a wee bit of money to spend. That might get him to the SPL but it's unlikely to keep him there. He was only the caretaker manager at Hibs, almost 15 years ago for 13 games and I'd hardly call winning promotion and then leading Dundee to their Highest ever SPL finish in the 1st season up as "next to nothing" And again he only managed Dunfermline over 17 years ago for 8 games so it can't exactly be held against him that he did "feck all" surely? He also had a good record as co-manager at Aberdeen. And what matters most is he is going to take Dundee up.
  24. Well Jermaine Beckford has withdrawn his transfer request. Its not like Leeds have performed well since they beat Man Utd though. a draw and defeat (only 3rd of season) Anyway as one of the teams rumoured to be interested in Griffiths it probably looks less likely for him to go there but you never know.
  25. What a tool he must now feel like. Who would bet with odds like that anyway. I'd rather bet on Mali pulling back to get a draw, knowing I'd probably lose my money. At least the odds would be good.
