Fleetwood Town v ICT matchday thread
A 2-1 defeat to Fleetwood Town is nothing to get upset about. Fleetwood earned promotion to the fifth tier of English football for the first time and this league does produce some quality teams that will give any SPL opposition a decent game. As for us, we huffed and puffed at the start and were under the cosh early on. Our new signing between the sticks had a fine game and made one memorable save from a free-kick. After going behind we almost equalised straight away but, unfortunately, Roy hasn't got that 'in front of goal instinct' as his lame effort was easily saved. We also hit the bar towards HT as we tried to get back on level terms. We started brightly enough in the second half but we were weak in front of goal. There second was a defensive mix up which had Terry and Mo raging (as well as us) but, after that, we did try to make a game of it. TB answered our calls for Rooney and he got one back within 5 mins of coming on. We had chances late on to snatch a draw but our efforts were wayward or easily saved. Just a comment on some of the new faces: Tuffey was excellent between the sticks but there does seem to be a lack of communication with his defence at times which is understandable for a new guy. McCann looked ring rusty and uncertain, not sure if he was responsible for any of the goals mind but he didn't fill me with confidence. Early days of course. Gil whatshisname looking up for it when he came on and did a loy of running around. His first touch was woeful and distribution of the ball was also bellow par. Again. early days and I'm they'll all come good in the end. Fleetwood Town FC as a whole was a wonderful relaxed experience. There was no segregation for this match and the banter was superb. There was a bar underneath the stand behind the goal where both sets of supporters were able to drink and enjoy the occasion. You could also have a pint at half time! Big screen TV as well with action replays of goals and a full list of the teams, goals etc. For a team that attracts the same kind of crowds as we did in the SFL their facilities put ours SPL one's to shame. Despite the score it was a great day out.

6 goals in 20 minutes? Did Elgin City lie down after Eric scored? Many thanks to all for updates. Much appreciated down here in Coventry 0. :_thumbup:

I'll be up for joining you from Preston depending on which train you're getting. Save me some beer. Tell me the time and buy yer own feckin beer. 12:19 from Preston (that's the 12:01 from Chorley by the way). Reaches Blackpool at 12:50 so plenty of time for beer and to get to Fleetwood. Clach 0-6 Inverness CT (FT)
There was a 10-2 away at Deveronvale 20 July 2004. I think there was a 15-0 v Golspie in the North Cup too but not sure if that was in HL days.

Get him signed

Under - 16s
Absolutely brilliant lads well done. Looking at some of the scores maybe they should start against Celtic.

Could be a lot of Dubliners
That's the very reason why I shan't bother making the effort to attend a home OF game.

If you take one of them to Caley Park I'll shove it up yer 'ooter :( What a ruddy noise. How on earth the players and coaching staff communicate during the match goodness knows. I don't think I'll be watching too many games with the sound on that's for sure. Come on England :D

Tribute / Charity Walk
These are all great ideas and I too would echo the thoughts of others by contacting his family first. That is a must. The only concern of any 'organised' event would be getting into the same scenario as last year when we hit on the idea of a mini HM by walking en mass to Dingwall. This idea was scuppered by red tape and good old health and safety. Dedicating HM9 to Peter's memory would be a good idea if all else fails, but, as said, consult with the family first.

ICT fan dies on Everest
How very sad. RIP Peter, you died doing what you loved and climbed your biggest mountain and, to do it wearing ICT colours, you put yourself and the club on top of the world.

Dundee United chairman slagging us off
Spot on. There may also be many more fans through the turnstiles if the SPL wasn't so expensive. The is pish and doesn't exactly get the pulse racing enough to get anyone off their backsides and go. In fairness, I think the article is ok as it goes and can see where he's coming from....but is that our fault?
