Butcher OUT!
Interesting point. Are you basing this on history, his media friendly persona or historical position as a playing legend? Never been convinced about one and accept two as correct. At this point I understand I am supposed to shout 'I BELIEVE' and I will be subjected to adulation, the world will be a happy place and we won't get relegated. There are none so blind as those that will not see. Or something like that. Who said fanatical fundamentalism was restricted to Islamic dictatorships? Some of the clearest examples post on CTO! The interesting point is that Sorted interpreted the quote from PIG as saying there is no manager out there who is better than Butcher. I interpret it more as 'this club, due to its geographical location and financial limitations, would be unable to attract a better manager.

All those free kids, cheap adults, giveaways like copies of the beano, at least four hundred ICT fans and they still report a gate of only 2109.

The Unthinkable
When we were promoted first time around our preferred choice for groundshare was McDairmid but SPL would not allow it because we were in different leagues. Falkirk tried to share with a lower league team but were also refused so I dont think County will be allowed to share with us.

Butcher OUT!
Sorry sonam but if you honestly think sacking Butcher is the answer to this clubs problems then maybe you should go support some other team. First off we've just extended his contract so the pay-off to get him out would be pretty much beyond our means. The problems of this club are way above Terry Butcher. The club is struggling to operate within available budgets as it is so how can we be expected to attract better management and players than we already have. Besides, once the team has been picked for a match, its the players who are letting us all down. These are supposed to be SPL standard professional footballers. They should be going out onto any pitch and giving it their all. Playing for the club that pays their wages. Playing for the fans who shell out to support them. They should even be playing as if their future depended on it. These players are the ones who's heads you should call for. Not the management.

St Johnstone -v- ICT : matchday thread
That was my second game of this season so far and, like the first (EEP), I came away thinking we were a lower league team unable to compete with the big boys. We have some good individual players in the squad but we still dont have a team. We lack direction on the park. We lack motivation on the park. For me we lack a captain. Richie Foran, in both games I've been to, has been pretty poor. He has hardly moved more than 20 paces all match. His effort and his touches have been pretty poor yet he has the audacity to chastise his team mates for the same. If he is going to continue to lead then he has to do it by example. He has to acknowledge good play and he has to motivate and encourage throughout the match. Foran has been excellent for us in the past but perhaps its time he was dropped for a game or two.

Jimmy Davidson testimonial
Know nothing about the match but Jimmy played for Partick for fifteen years before coming to Caledonian for three seasons in 1960. He then retired from playing and returned to Partick as groundsman. (All this courtesy of Wiki) I presume he was given his testimonial when he retired from football and that the match was between the two clubs he had spent his professional career with. Jimmy was also capped eight times for the national squad.

NEW INVESTMENT IN ICTFC
This is the part I cant quite understand. Every shareholder has one vote regardless of number of shares held. This consortium will put up a quarter of a million, will be given shares to the value and will have one vote. Does the single vote of DS really make a great deal of difference. If the consortium want changes they need the votes of all the other shareholders as well. Or is it a case that they are puting up cash but not taking a shareholding and instead are relieving DS of his vote?

Tade v Rooney
I dont see how anyone can make comparrisons between Tade and Rooney. They are two very different players with very different styles. I would liken Tade to Graham Bayne. A forward who can work, can hold up the ball and can lay it off for others. Rooney, on the other hand, was very much the poacher. he was the one in the right position when the ball was laid off. I believe Tade will score a few more goals for us but I dont think it will be many. He will provide killer balls for others though.

Away Day Travel - St Johnstone
Going to St Johnstone game next week. Is this pay at gate or do i need to get tickets in advance? St J will definitely be P.A.G. In fact they are looking to make some cash by demolishing a stand to make way for a road.

Our Defensive Woes
And what evidence is this based on!!. We are having a hard enough time scoring goals as it is and you want to put a centre back up front. Where is the darkened room as I need to lie down. We have a hard time scoring goals so putting our "number nine" and his amazing tally of ONE on the bench is long overdue. I would however rather see Mackay or Shane (or preferebly both) up front for a prolonged spell. Our "strikers" inability to create or hold the ball results in our defence being constantly under pressure. Sorry but dont you think you should change the record and give the guy a chance. Adam Rooney played 36 games in his first season with us and scored six goals. He took seventeen games to score his fourth goal yet now we wish we still had him. Gregory Tade has scored three in eleven games and will probably get a few more before the seasons end. As for our number nine, he may only have one so far this season but he also will give us more goals. He may not score them all but by christ he'll put his heart and soul into creating them.

Our 1st choice team
It startles me that no one has included Andrew Shinnie in their starting XI! Personally I just haven't seen enough of him yet.

Our Defensive Woes

ICT -V- St Mirren : Matchday Thread
I just find it very sad that, after our very poor performances, and even after we win, some folk have to find fault. We won. We've gone three straight games at home without defeat. Even if, after all that you feel some things aren't right at least try and let it by you and give praise. Positivity makes players feel good and helps them play better. Negativity makes them nervous.

Keep the faith
I believe that when the refs first whistle blows The crowd will roar I believe that we can get our system right And start to score I believe that Greg Tades gonna start to shine And show the way I believe, I believe I believe our darkest hours have passed us by And wins will come I believe that Fortress Longmans bolstered up And feared by some Every time I hear the Caley Thistle cries And feel the crowd support our guys Then I know why, I believe Every time I hear the Caley Thistle cries And feel the crowd support our guys Then I know why, I believe And if you want the tune Its here

Our 1st choice team
Dont really know what Butchers first choice team would be if all were fit but mine would be Esson Piermayr, Tokely, Hogg, G. Shinnie Hayes, Foran, Cox, Ross Tade, Sutherland
-
Our Defensive Woes
Bauhaus has the rights of it. Hogg, Cox and Hayes are the missing links in defensive problems.
-
Our 1st choice team
Dont think I'd be dropping Ross to the bench. I'd have that back four. Cox and Ross in the middle with Hayes and Doran on the wing. Tade as the holding striker and Sutherland running of him. Yes I've dropped Foran. He may be a great motivator and works hard but he is far too unfit just now. IMO Foran needs a long rest to recuperate.

Keep the faith
According to the BBC stats Celtic had 4 shots on goal and we had 2. They had 3 that missed the target and we had 2. The only difference is that they scored 2.
