  1. Wouldn't a stadium in the middle of a road cause traffick chaos :001:
  2. Hear! Hear! Hear! :clapping01:
  3. DC and al Fayed's money could be a formidable combination.
  4. P&J CHRISTIE IS READY TO RECALL WYNESS 08:50 - 18 May 2007 Charlie Christie says Dennis Wyness's impressive training ground form could convince him into giving the forward a first-team place against St Mirren. Caley Thistle will end the season with a match at Paisley tomorrow and Christie is set to shuffle his playing pack for the game at Love Street. Wyness injured his shoulder in the 2-1 home defeat by Celtic on January 28 and has been making a gradual recovery. He resumed training at the start of the month and the Caley Jags manager is considering giving him a recall to the first team. The 30-year-old has been sorely missed, yet Christie's enthusiasm to bring the forward back is tempered by the fear he might suffer another injury. "It's a difficult one - he's certainly in my plans," said Christie. "He was absolutely fabulous in training yesterday and everyone was talking about him. I don't know if he was trying to make a point but he hasn't been pestering me to play at all. He's a pleasure to work with and gets on with his job. "He's probably between 80 and 90% fit and there's a slight risk he might get hurt if we play him. I'll have to give it some thought but he'll definitely be back in the first-team squad." Christie will be without Roy McBain, who has a groin injury, and may decide to hand starting berths to youngsters Zander Sutherland and Rory McAllister.
  5. After driving taxi's till 3am then surfing the site for a couple of hours would you want to try and get to Paisley by 12 :003:
  6. The club shop gives a 10% discount to Shareholders, Supporters Club and Trust members, Centenary Club members and of course Season Ticket holders. All this is only on merchandise, not tickets.
  7. That is the case, hence the reason we would have to pay out something if we took Buchanan.
  8. Your all wrong HERE HE IS HERE....or is he?
  9. Not quite true. Ike Fraser has also made the grade. Others have regular spots, just not with us. I also expect Zander to be more prominent next season. And Vigurs and MacDonald could also be in there. How many actually come through the OF systems and get regular slots in their first team?
  10. At Boro probably more than twice what we pay. As for Buchanan, as has been said in the report, at the time of his trial we didn't have a vacancy. Dargo may go. McSwegan is not in the future plans. We have signed Vigurs though. I'm well sure that if the lad is considered it would be more than his D2 ability that will be looked at. His attitude and committment, his ability as a team player, his ambition. All these will be looked at and acted upon accordingly.
  11. Hot of the official site news desk...... Zander has signed a new 1 yr deal and Vigurs, Wood and MacDonald have all signed professional contracts from the youths.
  12. Ross Tokely------11 years at ICT------Played 400 games---------29 career goals-------------won every award going 04/05 season----------got us out of the mire on a fair few occassions--------------heart and sole in ICT-----------and you have the audacity to say he's lucky to have a job--------get real man. CC believes Granty will make a good captain and so do I but not sure if he's quite ready yet. I'd go for Baz for one year with Grant as deputy then he can step in the following year.
  13. Not doubting the accuracy of your info LG - but how is this possible if, as you said in an earlier post "it is clearly stated in the SPL Ground Rules that standing in an all seated stadium is forbidden" ? Either it is allowed and anyone can establish a section like this or it is not allowed and Rangers are not only breaking but also flouting the rules. If they do allow a sizeable proportion of their fans to stand I would think they might be the first club to support the notion of adjusting this rule ... anything else would be hypocritical in the extreme. Scotty what Ibrox actually have is a small corner between two stands that is designated for supporters brass band. Haven't actually heard them for a while but they used to play during matches to get the crowds going. Because they were classed as a band they were allowed standing room.
  14. Before we went up we submitted our plans to the SPL, by the due date of 31st March, showing we would meet the criteria. That included groundshare plans for a season and council approved plans for the development of our own stadium. What Mr Gilmour is arguing is that Gretna have not submitted plans for their stadium development. They dont even know yet whether they'll be staying at Raydale or building on a completely new site so they cant possibly have planning permission in place yet. Falkirk were refused entry into SPL because, although they had an agreement to play at Murrayfield, or was it Tynie, they had no site nor planning permission to develop their own stadium. Personally I think the rules need to be sorted out to come into line with the present climate and that all SPL grounds should be required to have standing area's :003:
  15. Enjoying a game of football and meeting some mates perhaps.
  16. We're doing a pre-season in Italy. We cant afford to also tour down south. Its early days yet but I'm sure someone from the south will be coming up and maybe play us. The whole point of pre-season games is to get the players working together as a team and building towards the season start. Its always better to play easier teams to that end than risk very competitive 'friendlies' where injury could result.
  17. Agree with that Laura but perhaps its time all Trusts got together and lobbied the SPL to have this rule changed. Personally I believe that a dedicated standing/singing area, limited to about 300, at every ground would not present any significant safety/crowd control problems. The SPL made the rules and we've seen that these rules are changeable, i.e reducing ground capacity requirements from 10k to 6k, so lets see them give consideration to the customer and change this one.
  18. Must have had a bad experience lately His hairs gone whiter than mine :015: Clicky for Baz Just jesting Baz
  19. That last comment from Wyness is the only route to go. The club or Mr Smith cannot be held responsible for attempting to uphold the rules, even if there is incinsistencies, and it would be more effective if it were possible to get all fans from all clubs to petition the SPL. After some fatalities and crowd problems at football stadiums in the late seventies / early eighties a law was passed through parliament that all stadia throughout the country with a capacity in excess of 10,000 to be all seated in order to improve crowd control and safety. Sadly, the SPL, during its formation, took this law a bit further and decided that everyone must sit in the seats. The leaders of the original ten clubs made the ruling and nobody ever challenged it. The problem for individual clubs is the threat of hefty fines from the SPL so they have to be seen to be complying with the ruling. The SPL is the only governing body in the whole of europe who have adopted, and enforce, this stupid ruling. Its the SPL who need to be petitioned not ICT.
  20. Well done to Graham Bayne who was awarded the Players Player of the Year award and Grant Munro who got the Supporters award. Both well deserved in my opinion. Link to official site report.
  21. Count me and Mrs M in for next season. Guzz
  22. roscoe23 contrary to what you may think, RC do not have an academy to sell. The highland football academy, though based at Dingwall, is a joint operatin between Ross County ICT and Highland Council and is under the control of the Scottish Executive. Read about it here
