  1. Going to be a close call Liam 27 votes. Ciftci 25 so far.
  2. Thats it!! The man has to go. After all he obviously doesn't appreciate the craic over a smooth single malt.
  3. Mystified at what? That he's not been sentenced yet?
  4. I very much doubt he was punched twice in the face before defending himself , if that was the case don't you think the aggressor would have been charged and not Richie ? Do you know that nobody else was charged? Or did they all scarper and Ritchie was the only one stupid enough to get caught? There are breach of the peace charges dished out every day of the week but they dont all make the papers. Its just not a story if the person is not in the public eye. Sadly it happens all too often that folks in the public eye are abused when out in public.
  5. That doesn't make sense. I'm not a professional whisky taster but I do know what I like. Chivas is not a single malt so not one I would choose though Strathisla is one of my favourites.
  6. Think you may find this Craig Moore is a 19 year old striker. The other one manages in Ozz
  7. CJT, being the supporters club of ICT, has something to do with ICT and they are organising marshalls for this event.
  8. U20 Table.docx Top Scorers Jason Cummings Hibs 18 Chris Kane St J 16 Craig Moore Motherwell 13 Ryan Christie Inverness 12 Chris Duggan Partick 12 Andrew Ryan Hamilton 10 Adam Evans Inverness 10 Tony Dingwall Ross C 10
  9. As things stand Hibs could end up in Championship and stay there for a while. Would either of above players want that? Doubt it. I cant see Hibs spending much on players either. Petrie had got their debt down to around three million but in recent times its crept up again and is now seven million or so. They need to rebuild but I think Butcher's remit is along the lines of what he done with us over a period of a few seasons.
  10. What are the costs? Stage one home game and travel to somewhere. Get through the qualifying round and its 130k + euro's in the bank.
  11. As Alex says, 2nd or 3rd would do it, but that's almost certainly beyond us now. But your scenarios for 4th place are spot on. I can't think of any other possible circumstances barring some unlikely UEFA Fair Play allocation. Just checked the Fair Play situation and Scotland are 9th with only the top 3 associations getting a club in, so that's gone! Wouldn't write us of just yet. We need to play all the teams and can take points of any of them. All those above us will drop points to Celtic and to each other so I think things will be a lot closer than they look at the moment. Here's my theory: Celtic take15 pts. We take 12 pts out of fifteen. The rest can then only take nine. Lets say Aberdeen take the 9 that would mean only 6 available for DU and Motherwell and St Johnstone. St Johnston take 3 from DU and Motherwell takes 3 from St Johnstone but lose to DU. Final Standings Celtic...............103pts Aberdeen..........72pts Inverness..........64pts Motherwell........63pts Dundee U.........57pts St Johnstone....51pts Simples really........................................now how to get that 12 pts.
  12. Any idea what cost of hybrid system?
  13. Doing some research I note Hamilton's cost £400,000
  14. Posts about synthetic surface moved to new thread
  15. Yes......finish 3rd or 2nd
  16. Rather than hogging another thread on the subject I wonder what are the views of others regarding modern synthetic pitches. My understanding is that the 3 and 4G are very like grass and are not as hard on players as the older types. I know there are a few lower league teams playing on them and I also believe Cumbernauld Rugby Club use Broadwood at times. There are also a lot of advantages in that the surface can be played on more regularly and can be used for sports other than football so clubs can gain finance from letting the pitch. There is a vastly reduced maintenance cost as well. I've never walked, let alone played any sport, on a synthetic surface so haven't a clue about negative aspects of it but I'm sure many of you will enlighten me on this. Is synthetic the way forward? Did find an article here http://bleacherreport.com/articles/449490-artificial-pitches-and-football-a-history
  17. Broadwood is also synthetic and is licenced by SRU for rugby matches.
  18. Don't know if there have been changes to the rules but the old SPL didn't allow them. Dunfermline had to lift their pitch and lay grass when they were promoted. Apparantly the system laid at Falkirk is one of the top products on the market just now and is as close as you can get to natural grass. I'm sure I read a while back that the English league clubs are also lobbying their rulers to go to artificial surfaces. I believe the cost of such a surface is around £750,000, including ground preparation, but that can be recouped in no time by renting out. And maintenance costs are reduced dramatically.
  19. You're right Dougal. They're all wooses nowadays. Can't beat the old days of playing in mudbaths with a 50lb wet leather ball and boots that came up to your ankles. Interesting, did you actually play then Alex? Only as a kid. Shinty was my game
  20. So in Dougals eyes if somebody thinks something against his ideals or against tradition they are trying to cause unrest or they are fishing. Sorry to go against your beloved traditions Dougal but I believe summer football is the way forward. If we were all to stick to tradition this world would be a more fekked up place than it currently is.

  22. Not totally. They operate a mix of full and part-time at the moment.
  23. I dont think distance should be a problem for teams aspiring to join the EPL but the size of the 'electric city' couldn't cope with anything more than highland league. Well done to them anyway. I'm sure a few Clynelish were drunk over the last couple of days.
  24. A full time football team who train every day and pay 4k+ a week to their players yet they cant beat a group of brickies and plumbers. I'll bet they struggle next season. As for the game, thank christ Liverpool was on other channel.
  25. Summer footballs the answer. Warm weather. Everyone happy. Winter break. Christmas. Everyone happy.
