  1. Just had a glance through all the 'Nationality' stuff. I believe I'm right in saying that, if legalities are the arguement, Scottish is not recognised around the world as an official nationality. With that in mind all those who are worried about loss of nationality should consider that that can't happen. We are all British and no matter the outcome of referendum we will all remain British. That is the official nationality of our birth and Britian is the island we were born in.
  2. Second point first. You choose to live and pay taxes in another country. Why should you have the right to decide the destiny of those of us who choose to stay in the country of our birth? First point. It is not only the Scots who live in Scotland that get the vote. Its also the English, French, Italians, Irish, Welsh, Pakistanis, Indians, Polish, Romanians and every other nationality that have chosen to live in Scotland.
  3. It would be nice to think so Alex but THEY have decided not to renew. To get high value shirt sponsors you need a professional commercial / marketing department - something we just do NOT have. Think thats a tad unfair on the people who work bloody hard to market our club. I also cant see how Orion pulling out is the fault of our marketing. Savage still has a 12.5% shareholding. The fact is that any company will only sponsor so long as they benefit by it. Usually around three years is all a company will sponsor a particular product before they decide a new strategy is required. I dont think Orion are any different. As a company they are competing in a market where there are too few clients for too many companies so I'd imagine they need to look at a different tack for their advertising budget.
  4. My birthday too............and here's me stuck 200 miles of the coast of West Africa.
  5. Have a look at Celtic's results over the past few months http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/celtic/results What am I looking for. I see quite a few 3-0's, 4-0's and 5-0's. Over that I also see many clean sheets. And therein lies a problem. Yes there are games where teams, including ourselves, have scored against them but these are few and far between. 55 games and 31 clean sheets. They are hard to break down and frustrate opponents to the point where heads go down. I ask myself, had we gone in 1-0 at half time what would the outcome have been?m Had we not given away a penalty a few minutes into the second half what would the result have been.
  6. Oh Christ we've turned into the other Glasgow team. I am not a fan of Hughes but can he really be blamed for todays result. Today we faced the Scottish champions and couldn't even fill the bench. We played a team who are building for another Champions league qualification. A team with absolutely no pressure on them and playing for fun. I never expected to beat them but it is disappointing that we shipped so many. That bit is not down to the manager but the players on the field. Wasnt at the game but read two or three different reports that pretty much state we can play some good football. Trouble is we cant play against a team that is totally superior to us in every respect. And Lennon didn't hold back. He played the strongest side he had available to him. What matters in the run in is not todays result. What matters is the results against teams that are pretty much equal to us. We took a point against Aberdeen. If we dont take points from our next three games then maybe its time to say goodbye to Hughes. Take points and he should be given a pre-season to see if he can achieve what he's set out to do. Ok so who should we let go to make way for anyone coming in. I'm quite sure that if Hughes was given a budget to bring players in he would do. Our average home gates have dropped by quite a bit this season. They may well drop even further without Hearts next season. Where does the money come from to bring new players in?
  7. Agree Missus. I'd rather see a rumour along the lines of Arquin isn't really missing. While Deeks been out looking for him Arquin's been helping Mrs Deek realise the pleasures of a French union. Would that not make a better story than one where Hamill plays a game of skittles? Arquins in the attic. Or is he under the bed? Does Mrs Deek know? Has he gone to her head? She needs someone strong who can stand on his feet Not a seething wee wimp who falls down at a bleat.
  8. Going to be some Championship next season. Hearts with their current team are the ones I'd predict to come up. Sevco are really going to struggle. They need to make big cuts so I see quite a few of their high earners out of a job.
  9. Who would I want to win? No preference whatsoever. A team is a team. Who will win? One game to go and its still a difficult one to predict. Dundee have a home tie against Dumbarton that could be a difficult one. Hamilton should beat Morton but even thats not a given. Falkirk probably have the easiest game against Alloa. At the end of the day its Dundee's to lose. The more interesting one is the play-off. Assuming Dundee go up it's Falkirk Hamilton and Queens + any one of five from Premiership. On paper the Premiership team should stay up but I've a feeling it'll be an interesting outcome. A couple of weeks ago I'd have bet that Midden would have been the play-off team and Killie safe. Now I see Killie struggling.
  10. You predicted the possible positions. I just added the stats in support of that
  11. All those examples may be chic in their current guise but add names and numbers and sponsors logo and they'll likely look naff
  12. At the moment our U-20's are sixth with 43 pts from 30 games. Only Falkirk in seventh can overtake us. They are four below with two to play. We have a twelve goal difference over them.
  13. Roughi, I see you suggest sending a couple of players out on loan but is that not going to leave a shortage at U-20 level?
  14. Hayes way ahead with 55% Black on 15% Liam 3%
  15. If you watch U20 games you would be saying the complete opposite. When Conor started with us he was pretty much a winger/striker, scored a late equaliser vs Hearts and scored a peach vs Hibernian. Admittedly he hasn't really been given much of a chance since. I have taken a fair bit of time watching u20s home games and this season Conor has been playing at right back. The word for me that sums him up is 'versatility'. His performances at right back have been really good and he has the pace to go forward but also the pace to come back to defend. Right back was a position I was worried about due to the lack of cover but the reality is now we have Conor Pepper and Graeme Shinnie that can fill in at right back, so that in itself should hopefully warrant Conor Pepper a new Sorry, but he has taken too long to break through to FIRST team level so management must have doubts about him. If we are talking U20 football, he is probably far too expensive and the CLUB will get better value with younger prospects. When you have the likes of Marley Watkins and Aaron Doran performing really well, would you really fancy your chances getting a look in? As I have already stated he has not been given a decent enough chance in the first team and when he did under Terry Butcher he scored vs Hearts and Hibs. I don't think Conor will be expensive for the club. I personally would sign him up for a couple seasons and send him out on loan because I feel that he is good enough to play for ICT but we have too much competition for places. As I have said in another thread if anything he would be a decent back up for David Raven. Both those players have been out at some point yet Conor still didn't get the nod.
  16. Last season under Butcher, from mid December to end of season we won 6. In the same period this season, Yogi has won 5 already. Similar form to last season. Aye keep hearing this going backwards stuff but the stats really dont show this as youve said. From clear in second with games in hand to struggling to fend off St Johnstone for fifth. I'm confused. In what respect is that not going backwards ? Will your glass ever be half full. You say we're struggling to fend of St Johnston. I say we're fighting to overtake Dundee United. I'd also say that this going backwards, as you term it, is nothing to do with the current manager but more to do with the upset in rhythm by the previous one leaving. Some folk talk like we are Man U or some such. We are equal to ten other teams in this league and fighting for points just like the rest of them. At the end of the season I'll decide if we've gone backwards but as things stand I believe we'll pick up a few more points. Surviving a second season in top half and getting to a cup final, only losing on penalties, has to be seen as going forward a little.
  17. Some won't have seen it, but it really is pretty standard player toeing the party line sort of stuff. It has, of course, also been ignored by folk opposed to those with "certain views"! "Togetherness" has broken out again and it appears everyone sees the article for what it is and sees no point on commenting on it. Many of us are not in a position to pick up the courier so, like me, probably never seen the article till it was linked here hence the no comment
  18. Celtic win 5 games and we win 4. That means only a possible 9 points available to one of the other four teams. They will lose points to each other. Simples.
  19. I BELIEVE we'll take 12
  20. Shame he's also a bit of a tw@t
  21. Whats wrong with Foran?
  22. A fine coincidence that I noticed that as well.......................................................on BBC website.
  23. Alex MacLeod

    Luke James.

Yep and we're going to fight of Newcastle for his signature.
  24. Oh yeah of little faith. We have already beaten all the teams we need to play this season bar Celtic so there's no reason why we cant do it again.
  25. Having read a couple of reports on this I get the impression a couple of beat cops saw a fracas and moved in. Everyone ran and Richie tried to hide but was caught and subsequently charged with breach of the peace. Looks like that and cctv were the only evidence and no further investigating was carried out to trace the others involved. It seems there were no assault charges laid at anyone. Just breaking the peace. Cops added perverting the course of justice to make a case of it but that was thrown out. Probably none of it should have ever reached the courts. Thats my take on it anyway.
