    Team For Hibs

If Munro is unavailable, Duff must play, aside from the fact that his confidence will be ruined if someone else gets a game (basically telling him that he's been dropped), that was as good as we've been defensively recently, Hamilton (a team that put three past one of the leagues best defences last year) found us as hard to break down as we did them. He would however, have the unenviable task of containing Shiels and Fletcher, but I think he's up to it. Black must stop passing backwards and sideways, he is really the only player in our team capable of splitting a defence, but he usually prefers cuting back and passing sideways looking very pretty. Would like to see Proctor back, he's come along way since his last spell with us and IMO with Munro injured he is our best defender. Not that Frasers been doing anything wrong, much the contrary (spelling?) but I'd like to see Esson given a shot, just to keep Ike on his toes. Rooney must start, and Barrowman will start.
  5. That'll be the team that drew with St.Patricks then?
  6. Interesting to see at the end of the half, Ryan Esson run 25 yards across the pitch to tell the inconsolable Duff that everything was to fine and to pick himself up. Was very impressed, I remember Brewster mentioning he is an excellent player to have around the dressing room. With Barry Wilson the notable exception, we have previoulsy lacked anyone capable of lifting the others and being the type of player the othes can look to for support.
  7. And what a goal it was :o
  8. Duff impressed me no end yesterday, it was indeed an awful mistake, but theres quality there. Duff + Munro would have me extremely content.
  9. Still makes me laugh http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0fjxDKfaAXQ...feature=related
  10. Pooh pooh to those that say Black isn't good enough for Scotland. In recent months Blackie has made among others Scott Brown, Paul Hartley and Scott Severin look distinctly average. What Black is lacking that is generally key for international players is: A.Consitency B.Experience
  11. Not really. Last we heard talks were still ongoing (Friday's P&J if I remember correctly.) Things probably stopped over the weekend (Stoke had games on Friday and Monday, while we had a massive match on Saturday) with talks at best resuming today. As usual the club can do no right in the eyes of some.
  12. Calderwood, sign a player that hasn't previously played for Dunfermline or Dundee Utd? I wouldn't loose any sleep Blackieforce
  13. Well does he still play for us?
  14. Unlike some on here, having met Brewster, I am of the opinion that he is a genuinely good guy. But Callum Elliot
  15. Did some digging on the "We are Perth" forum, a large number of the posters on there feel that on his game Steven Milne is the best player in the division. Forget it was him that put rangers out of the cup with his double a few years ago. Was one of those goals not a spectacular overhead kick?
  16. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...een/7547330.stm Can anyone explain to me what any of the above is about? Have the Dons caved or something?
  17. Messi in Argentian starting 11.
  18. Out of interest Birdog, just wondering where you found that? Oops, just seen your link, not used to links not being highlighted in blue yet.
  19. BBC Predictions Billy Dodds and Chick Young have us as their pick to go down. If Brewster has any sense he'll print these predictions off and stick them round the dressing room, can't see the boys taking to kindly to being told they are the worst team in the league and could give them that bit of fighting spirit that was so evidently lacking last season. After reading the "experts" opinions, I beginning to develop a bit of a siege mentality similar to our first season in the SPL.
  20. Agreed, I just remember an interview on the official site I think it was where McDonald claimed he would have to be his own player and couldnt be like Dargo. Realistacally (sp?) though, I always thought it unfair to ask a player to replace Dargo. IMO Dargo was the best player to play for us in the SPL (Brewster aside) and for a striker to score 17 goals in a team that finishes in the bottom half of the league is something I can't see being done for a long time.
  21. I always thought that mantle fell to McDonald.
  22. Negativity? All we want is to get the best out of Grant. Some, like myself, feel that although he is both an excellent centre-back and leader, perhaps last season he struggled to do both, therefore got stuck somewhere in between.
  23. Black and Duncan.
  24. Really, I always thought Cowie had a bit of a tendacy to take the huff when things wern't going to plan.
