The crazy sums of money being bandied about on European transfer deadline day got me wondering.

Which player to have graced the TCS turf has commanded the highest transfer fee (at any point in his career)?

Wanyama was my first thought or maybe Flo at Rangers? Not sure if he played at TCS but Steven Fletcher now of Sunderland former Hibernian. All these players were £12m fees.

would be wanyama i think (12.5 million), followed by fletcher(12 million). who scored 4 goals in his time with hibs against us all of them at easter road in 12 attempts and he never won at tcs in 6 attempts, and only won 3 times out of 6 at easter road. proving once again money dont beat ict. (this all according to tranfermarkt.co.uk)

after those 2 there would be a few of those pocket change £9 million players like gordon, hutton, mcgeady (9.5).

Will be interesting to see if Everton actually move for James McCarthy this evening, with talk of a £10m-£15m deal.

Craig Bellamy - Celtic (West Ham to Man City £14 million)

I thought of Robbie Keane who would have been more expensive, however he missed out from the records I could find.

I suppose it would be s fletcher he played for hibs here

Keane was on loan to Celtic the season we were in Division One.

Bellamy must be the player who has cost most money during his career, my calculations are that he has cost the following

Norwich > Coventry - £6m

Coventry > Newcastle - £6.5m

Newcastle > Blackburn - £5m

Blackburn > Liverpool - £6m

Liverpool > West Ham - £7.5m

West Ham > Man City - £14m

Total - £44m

I suppose it would be s fletcher he played for hibs here

Bellamy cost more than Fletcher it seems.

Good shout, played here once in 2005 and scored.

I remember that well as Alan was a ball boy (aged 11 or 12)  Told him it wasn't a bad goal but he could have done better lol

Anelka has cost his clubs upwards of £90 million in transfer fees alone.

But Anelka never played at ICT for or against us.

If you mean globally, then Christian Vieri must be right up there for accumulated transfers?

My point is what was the point in mentioning Barry Ferguson going from Rangers to Blackburn ?

The subject of this thread asks who was the most valuable player to play at TCS. My contribution was Barry F who was valued at 7.5 million at one point in his career and he played at TCS. In fact he's even scored at TCS. Seems a sensible enough point to me.
