Who will be the 3 candidates?

Caley Thistle have not approached anyone regarding the position and will draw up a list of the three most favourable candidates after today's meeting (22-Jan-09) at Caledonian Stadium.

Inverness director of football Graeme Bennett claims the Highland club will consider all applicants regardless of nationality or experience.

He said: ?The process for the replacement of the manager has started and that will be ongoing.

?There has already been a fair bit of interest in the position and we are not ruling anybody in or out.

?We have an open book, there is no set criteria, we are just seeing who is available and we will take it from there.

?We are going to sit down and decide who we would like to speak to.

?We have not spoken to anyone about the job yet ? it is up to the board to do that.

?We have gathered some information over the last 24 hours on prospective candidates and the sooner we can arrange interviews the better.?

So if today's board meeting is going to result in three names being put forward then I think they may be:

1) J Robertson

2) A Knox

3) A N Other

I don't think we will see Terry Butcher or Ossie Ardiles on that short-list of candidates being invited for an interview at the club....

Interestingly these are the latest odds and the bookies don't often get it wrong (but where do they get some of these names):

John Robertson 2

Terry Butcher 10/3

Barry Wilson 5

Archie Knox 6

Ossie Ardilles 9

Gordon Chisholm 9

Willie Donnachie 10

Kevin MacDonald 11

Derek McInnes 12

Steven Pressley 14

Eric Black 14

Neale Cooper 16

Colin Calderwood 16

Bruce Rioch 16

Chris Sutton 16

Charlie Christie 16

Stevie Frail 18

Maurice Malpas 20

Colin Hendry 20

Alex Rae 20

Jim Duffy 22

Derek Adams 25

Duncan Shearer 33

Craig Brown 33

Steve Paterson 33

Bobby Williamson 33

to be honest i don't care who our new manger will be!

some fan

if its butcher he can do as many other jobs as he wants. its a results driven business so as long as he is getting results he can work for Setanta, Scotland, be lollipop man, taxi driver or whatever.

the bottom line is if his results are bad he is out.

whoever it is gets my 100% from the moment the decision is announced.

a divided club will be a defeated club.

mate if his results are bad there is more on the line than his job I am afraid

i agree. next time we have to look upstairs but we have to gve the new man 100%.

Heard tonight it will be Butcher until end of season,

Yeah yeah....just you whip it out and urinate all over my parade.

I take back everything I said about giving the club the benefit of the doubt...will go and sulk for a little, and then come back and give Butcher my full support.

Butcher if he does in fact get it in my opinion would be a poor decision - but if it is so be it....we haven't had a decent derby for a few years now.... :rotflmao:

:018: :rotflmao: Up until about 20 mins ago I had the same feeling as you that it might be Robbo, then a text came in and changed my mind, hold fire I might come back in 20 mins and say it is Knox :thumb04:

Fair do's then Butcher it is................is it.

As said elsewhere, whoever gets the job needs the full backing of the supporters.

i'll be happy enough if its butcher, although it was robbo for me, but he'll command respect and is experienced.more important for me is that we get a quality striker in before the window shuts. if that doesn't happen then the board will look like total mugs

Beat me to it - i just got the same smoke signals. Thankfully I am informed that it still allows him to keep on the Scotland job as well.

Thats for sure, if he does get the job everyone needs to forget who their favourites were and get right behind him.

Nothing more to report from my man on the Gatwick flight. Poor Butcher was slumming it on sleazyjet and our roving reporter was too polite to quiz him - polite chit-chat being order of the day. Bit strange him heading home tonight if they're planning an announcement tomorrow.

Yes and if what I heard is correct can keep the tv work until the end of season, if he keeps us up he will stay and tv work will go

any word whose gonna be number 2.

He is not confirmed yet so doubt anyone will know his number 2, at moment it is just hearsay that he has the job

Assuming he gets to chose his guy it will almost certainly be Malpas.

Think I may have been on of the first to tout him on the old board so many moons ago but I can't agree with this decision. Full-time is needed. If doesn't have the confidence to keep us up, DON'T BECOME A MANAGER! No way should it be a case of "well, if all goes wrong, at least I've got something to fall back on".

IMO he was the best candidate along with Robbo, so he would get my full backing for sure. He is EXACTLY the right character to get us out of trouble.

I cant say Butcher was my first choice but i hope robbo is assistent and if so most fans would be happy

I cant see that if the club wanted Robbo back it would have been as manager

I'm coming round to your way of thinking now!!

:rotflmao:

FACTS

1. The new man will have sounded out some new signings or loans.

2. Hamilton will hit a bad run of form before the season is finished

3. Falkirk will hit a bad run of form before the season is finished

4. We have to be completely 100% united to capitalise on points 2 and 3

5. The crucial stage of the season will be after the split when 6 point swings can occur.

6. Next time we have a complete shambles and he slags off or patronises fans in the papers (daily mail article) then the DOF he must walk for good.

Lets get beind the new man and focus our attention on St Mirren, Falkirk and Hamilton.
