Pub for Dunfermline

Below is an e-mail I received from the East End Inn. Sounds good for parking (cars and buses)and the free food never goes wrong. I reckon it's got to be worth a shot for our first game in the SFL. Can you post on this thread nearer the time if you plan to use this facility. The pink fluffy one didn't have much good to say about the Elizabethan when she was up as it seems to have gone down hill quite a bit.

Hi Laura

Many thanks for taking time out to chat with me earlier.

As I mentioned we already have an excellent reputation with Away Supporters and have hosted many teams last year such as Q of South, Livingston, St Johnstone, and Clyde to name but a few. All feedback that they had a great time and enjoyed the hospitality food and would all be back!

As an overview, we are a family owned pub and pride ourselves in the standard we offer all our customers.

For our away supporters we have 2 bars.

The Lounge - has a 42 inch Plasma Flat Sreen TV with Sky Sports, a Pool Table and Quiz Machine. Families are welcome in the Lounge so its ideal for Dads and Lads or the Fanatical Family.

The Bar - has all the same facilities however it also has bandit machines, hence children are not allowed in this area, its strictly adults only.

Our pub manager Lorna will put on hospitality food, normally sandwiches, stovies, soup and rolls, for your supporters to enjoy before the short 10 min walk to the ground.

We can accommodate around 150 people in the 2 bars comfortably so if you do feel more than that are likely to turn up, please let Lorna know as she can also open up the Function room as an overflow area. Having an idea of how busy we might be will also ensure Lorna has enough staff behind the bar to serve customers. There is nothing worse than having to wait for a long time for a pint!

Lorna will proabably ring you a few days before to establish how many people you think may turn up on the day so she can ensure she prepares enough food and to find out what time you think people are likely to arrive.

All packed in together - free food - kids allowed - looks like the kind of establishment that wouldnt throw me out - we walk to the ground when we can enjoy a wee sing song - looking good to me - see you all there at 11.00 ;)

I have often found that the Supporter Trust followers drink more, swear more, sing more and embarass the club more than I could ever dream of - especially yon old Arbroath fecker.

will be there as well

first in pays for round

That'll be a cheap round if you are the only one there. :003:

I'm expecting great things after PB's tales of Hamilton last season! :P

Was wondering if anyone knows if there is any chance of getting on the supporters bus in Perth to Dunfermline game, if so how much is it likely to be?

Or has anyone got any other ideas for getting from Perth?

cheers

Graeme.

From Perth you can get a Citylink bus to Dunfermline.

Will the supporters bus be stopping in Dunfermiline early enough to get to the Pub?

The Supporters bus can pick you up in Perth for the Dunferlime game - cost will be ?12

Highly unlikely! Thought you were organising your own bus!

Doesn't matter how far The Lizzie has sunk it'll never be as skanky as the EEB - the EEB's dreadful place in a dreadful location.

Hey Graeme - am in the perth area too, feel free to email me at [email protected] - maybe be able to hook up for some matches...might be some right dodgy characters on that bus like!!! :025:

Yes most definitely. Looks like Connie might not want to meet up with us, but I have just spoken to the East End in and told them to expect 40-50 people as I'm really not sure how many there will be. I know CaleyD's bus is going and a few more have said they will be there. If there are any large groups planning on joining us at the East End Inn if you can post here or PM me I can up the numbers if necessary.

I think it's great to have 1 place to meet rather than everyone doing different things, it helps get an atmosphere going before the game and it's great to meet some more Internutters.

Looking forward to it

See you all on Saturday

Will Be there on Sat.

Hope fully be a good day!

bleedin hell .... "buffy's pub"

I'm gonna be needing commission for the Commercial Inn LOL

Aye typical of the EEI pinching the wannabe real ale drinkers eh? They DONT have real ale by the way but "my" pub does.

Meals start at 11am, walking distance from there to East End Park is 15 mins approximate (depending on how much diet coke you've had... that's for you Gringo lol) and aye we don't have a place for kids, unless you count the bollards in the high street to which you could attach them. Kidding! (the smokers would have to move then...) ;D

Anyhoo, I hope to see a few of you in my pub - I'm quite fine with that now lol - and also hopefully in Legends post-match also. It's available for all fans, approx 15 mins after the end of the game. Since I'm ever so hopeful of seeing a few of you dandering out 10 mins before the end of the game, after the inevitable loss of goals, one of which I'm very confident wil be scored by yer ex player Mr "sunshine" Bayne....teehee....then you will no doubt just want to head to yer bus pronto or hang aboot ootside looking shifty....

Goonna be a stonker of a game... and now I'm not sure what end to sit in!! Decisions decisions...

Enjoy folks - seeya soon!

Buffy xx

Great result today!!

What did everyone think of the EEI and did anyone go to The Lizzie afterall?

It was a fabby result today...

Where were you?

At the match! Drove down from Perth, straight to the match, no time for pubs today!

Would have loved to have met up with you at the pub L_G but didn't know til pretty much the last minute whether I was going to make it to the game.

East End Inn was great, just a shame the roadworks set us back far more than anticipated and we couldn't have spent longer there.

A much appreciated buffet, friendly staff and the locals I was speaking to outside were good craic.

Just goes to show that you should never judge a book by it's cover and if I go down for the next away game then I'd happily go back here again.

On the subject of pubs, I'd also add that we were made very welcome in Legends (at the stadium) after the game. Great setup Dunfermline have there.
