Peterhead away April2026

No Room for Error

It's almost last chance saloon at the last chance saloon club as we face Peterhead at Balmoor Stadium on Tuesday night with the game kicking off at 19:45. It will also be screened on BBC ALBA for those not able to attend, or BAR94 if you want to watch with a squad of fans at the stadium with a juice of your own choice... A cringeworthy penalty decision against Stenhousemuir on Sunday meant that we remain two points behind the Warriors after the 1-1 draw which saw the three points wrenched from our grasp by an incompetent referee, who up to that point, within reason, had been doing okish albeit a bit pernickety. We play this catch-up game and thereafter all teams will have three games left to decide where the title goes, and likewise relegation for those at the bottom end. As it stands it's still in our own hands but anything other than a win removes that option and puts Stenhousemuir in the driving seat.

Peterhead Preview Apr26.jpg

HFomkofaoAAx6QD?format=jpg&name=smallThat was our starting XI at Stenhousemuir which saw a few changes from the KDM Final against Raith Rovers. A tough game at Ochilview might have taken it's toll on some but Chanka Zimba was suspended so expect him to feature in this one. Three draws in our last three games is not the form of Champions.

  • Last Six League1:

  • D D D

We started this run with a 3-1 home win over Montrose. With Stenny drawing and Alloa losing in midweek, we had a smidgeon of breathing space going into the home game against Cove but that was taken away by a goalkeeper. Balint Demus headed in an equaliser because we failed to put the game to bed when on top. A common theme throughout the season and one which Stenhousemuir took full advantage of by snatching a last minute winner. We bounced back in midweek with a good 3-1 home win over Peterhead with as bizarre an 'offside' goal as you will see gifting the Head their consolation. Zimba x2 & Alonge were our scorers in that one, three going on six. Zimba was Hero to Zero at Alloa scoring the equaliser before being sent off ten minutes later with the game ending at 1-1 and our last League1 game was a poor 1-1 draw under the lights v QotS where Ross Millen followed up on his saved penalty to bundle home and earn us a point. Onto the the KDM final and the only bright spark for us was Alfie Stewart's superb free kick. Alas we gave our opponents too much respect and too many opportunities to take the ball from us and for that we suffered badly. We suffered even more at Ochilview having led for around 70mins when Calum MacLeod's goal was wiped out with one blow of the refs whistle in a 1-1 draw. Meh!

ImageHeads team that were maybe surprisingly beaten on Saturday by East Fife. They went down 2-1 at Methil with Craig McGuffie getting their goal. Kieran Shanks has been voted the League1 PotM for March having scored an impressive 5 times during March and a total of 17 for the season. That's a great return from the Peterhead front man!

  • Last Six League1:

  • L L L

First of the last six was a an excellent 3-1 win over Alloa, Shanks, McGuffie and an og sealing the points. A last minute goal for Stenny saw them leave Balmoor with a 1-0 win and that was followed by a 3-1 win for none other than the Caley Jags with Shanks getting their rather bizarre goal. Shanks again in a 1-1 draw at home to Montrose and his scoring run continued with a brace at Alloa before Saturdays defeat to the Fifers.

We hope everyone travelling to Peterhead for tonight's game has an enjoyable evening and safe travels.

If you are not going to the match, why not join other Caley Thistle fans and watch the game live together?

By popular demand, Bar 94 will be open and showing tonight's game.

The bar will open at 1730, with the normal range of refreshments.

If you wish to join us, we will be delighted!

Already said to MrCaleyjag this morning this is a HUGE game for us and he said we should all have a positive mental attitude - so with that let's go! We're heading up with our mini CaleyJag, am ever hopeful - see everyone there! Also @tm4tj the ticket prices are different on the website to what you've published above, screenshot included

If all fit, I would play the team that went in against Stenny. It’s as near as strong a team that I consider we have to play quickly and with precision.

This is a match tonight I expect a full three points. We have the better (higher paid) players with the advantage of full time training. There should be no issues with the weather or pitch to cause any concern. I’m hoping to be two or three goals up before substitutes get considered.

Thanks CJ

This was their social media post on X about an hour ago???

It’s going to be a beautiful night for a game of football...

Just a reminder that for our game v @ICTFC tonight, we have made the decision to lower the price to £10 per adult and £5 per concession (kids under 10 years old go free) so head down to Balmoor for a family night under the lights. This game is also on BBC ALBA so you can watch yourselves back on the telly when you get home!

Tickets can be purchased at the ground from our ticket office prior to the match or come prepared with an online ticket using this link:

Pretty sure Zimba is available after suspension, he might get the nod to freshen up some tired legs. I still have a preference for MacIntyre at left back. Horses for courses I suppose. Keep Chalmers on the bench and keep MacLeod involved and Luis and Sole. We need to be 100% committed to winning this one, not resting on our laurels after going one up.

Tonight won't decide the title either. The worst that can happen is we remain two points behind. The next worst is that we move one point behind which isn't what we want but it puts us within another draw should Stenny lose a game and our GD is superior. A win will be a good result for the battle tonight, but it won't win the war either as we will only move one point ahead but still within striking distance.

If only we never fouled that guy and gave away that penalty...

Fine margins between success and failure ohmy

Yes, that’s a fair call tm. Oscar has been as good (dependable) as any of our defence. He adds to his game however an attacking dimension at speed that offers a threat we don’t have elsewhere in the team.

Fingers crossed the ref’s performance tonight meets your high specification.

For me, the equation is straight forward: win all our games and we win the league, anything less, and we then rely on others.

Yes, that should be the outset all the time but it's even more imperative now.

With that in mind, it's a must win game even to show Stenny that we're still on top. They'll by far be the happier of the two from Saturday and feel the pressure is back on us, so we need to flip it round again.

Points in the bag by far outweigh what ifs and maybes so let's go, get the win and push on

Hope these guys aren’t knackered after 88 mins of game time on Saturday.

Not a fan of TV sport, get too distracted at home. Didn’t even watch back nine of masters on Sunday night.

So fast start and keep banging in the goals.

Or my attention will start to drift towards flicking through the WC qualifiers on offer tonight starting with Scotland v Belgium.

Come on ICT do me a favour please.

Zimba in for Wotherspoon, assuming Stewart and Bavidge out wide?

1 minute ago, KennySim93 said:

That is absolutely outrageous from Alfie!!!

I thought it had gone wide at first. Awesome strike.

Some free kick that was

Once again, the ref is trying his best to stop us, unsure how it wasn't a handball and minutes later a pass back to the keeper

A good half, only really lacking the creation of clear cut chances.

Stewart has been brilliant running the midfield.

Absolute wonder strike from AlfieS. Well on top but my goodness that strike would grace any game in the top division.

Don’t rest on the laurels of a one goal lead. Knock in a couple of early second half goals to avoid any pressure at the latter stages of the match.

You'll struggle to see a better free kick than than all season, take a bow Alfie Stewart.

Referee has been terrible, some baffling decisions but we'll take the soft free kick.

Need to be quicker down the wings, no point in setting up wide then passing in and back. Alonge needs to drop deeper and make himself available more but they are there for the taking. Little bit more intensity and killer balls and we'll open them up more.

Jeezuz... how the feck did Zimba miss that one??????

Lets hope we don't rue taking those two chances and the dodgy looking offside flag.

AlfieB did the work for the second goal. Looking at it Zimba is seemed almost mid kicked the ball into the goals.

Game over - in full control. Get a third to put a shine on the result.

Yep, a bit of a sclaff! all count though!!
