Always good to get a friendly game against one of the lower league teams 😀

We are playing Nairn away at 1930 on Tuesday 23 June in a Testimonial Match for three Nairn players who came through our Academy, Calum Maclean, Dylan Maclean and Kenny McKenzie.

I always enjoy a trip through to Nairn and hope they will get a good crowd for that game.

Do you nnow the line up? Were there trialists or was it all the youngsters?

I'm not telling you.

However, I can spill this info

Our Development Squad played their first pre-season match today as they beat Lossiemouth 4-0

Shae Keogh scored a hat-trick and Archie Kerr got the other goal.

Work rate was brilliant and some very good football played. U17s players Rhylen Harkness, Mark Sutherland and Will MacGregor featured and did well

What is Shaes best position?

A lot of goals for a midfielder.

Noa is left back (looks pacy). Trialist 14 (on the other side and left my distance glasses in the car but he may be someone we know well) is right midfield, 15 is centre half and 20 is a tall striker who’s just opened the scoring.

Paul Allan has just fired in the second.

  • 18' | 0-1 GOAL! Trialist opens the scoring (No 20) Clearance blocked and he scored with a near-post shot.

  • 21' | 0-2 GOAL! Paul Allan scores after ball played through out wide which was cut back and slotted away.

  • 34 | 0-2 Good move from Nairn County as Calum MacKay's effort comes off the post.

  • 41’ | 1-2 Goal Nairn! Ball is won in the middle of the park by Kenny McKenzie and plays through Calum Mackay who puts it past the keeper.

  • 45+| 1-2 Shae Keogh sees his effort held right on the stroke of half time

HALF TIME: 1-2

ICTFC Subs at the break: Ross Munro, Luis Longstaff and Liam Sole on Logan Ross, Shae Keogh and Trialist (No 14) off

  • 47' | 1-2 Good ball from Adam Mackinnon finds Trialist (No 20) in the box and his effort is just over.

  • 53' | 1-2 ICTFC Sub: Morgan Bates on, Trialist (No 20) off

  • 63' | 1-3 GOAL! Luis Longstaff's free-kick finds the bottom corner from the edge of the box.

FULL TIME: 1-3

Looks like everybody got some game time.

The ref is letting most things go, and we got caught not playing to the whistle at the Nairn goal when Shinnie was fouled in the build up.

Bates is on now as Longstaff extends our lead from a direct free kick.

Only trialist 15 played the whole game, with him finishing at right back.

A useful work out but some rustiness.

Of the youngsters, Sam Thompson was controlling things in midfield, with Archie Kerr and Jake Rodgers looking promising.

Bates was lively and could well be an asset for us.

Not sure about the big no 20, but trialist 15 looked promising, while we all do know no 14!!
