Nothing like a worthless threat to start off the evening. To somehow turn the farce that is SPL reconstruction into an attack on our Chairman takes a degree of negative thinking I can only aspire to. No doubt your strategic, well thought out threat will have George in turmoil as he wrestles with the rights and wrongs of the saga whilst, at the same time, having to deal with the devastating impact on his life caused by your post. if you had asked me a year ago if we would be where we are now i would have bitten your hand of, but what is frustrating me this season is our throw ins , how often we lose posssesion from them and why we take so long in taking them giving the other side to re group. is it just me??1 point

I'm not one to moan.... but..... I thought Shane Sutherland was wasted on the right wing.. more or less was a waste of space, he aint a right winger, not now, not ever. Why was Eric not introduced? he could have really made saints pay with some nice passes/pace from the right, every time i've seen shane play on the right he's been poor - but it's not his fault, just poor decisions from management. Some St Johnstone fans had been causing trouble on he way to the stadium yesterday and I saw a couple of arrests being made before the game. Proably why so many xtra police turned up at the match and also saw stewards coming round the corner at main stand near away end with quite a few bits of broken seats so looks like they were doing damage. So what they might be telling people was bad treatment was actually because they were behaving like neds.1 point

Good win for you. Being new to all this , didnt realise how long it was since you had won in the league. Will keep looking out for the results and reading this board. All the best from Blackpool.1 point

I can't make it. Why you ask? Of to Australia. I'm trying not to brag though.1 point

Think he is referring to the surname origin and not the player. Just like if someone played in Australia with the name McMinker you could assume his name could have links to Dingwall.1 point

As I understand it, the SFL and SPL both run under license to the SFA and if the SFA don't like how they are running the game or think they are bringing the game into disrepute then they have the power to take action by imposing sanctions or, ultimately, revoking their license. Yes, the SPL could continue without that affiliation, but it's teams would no longer be able to qualify for/play in things like domestic or European cups etc.1 point

Have to say didnt think Shane looked totally fit today but would have him over Odi anyday of the week. Shane is a young player who is still learning his trade but gives 100% every time.1 point

Because Odi has about as much tackling ability and strength on the ball as a wet sponge....Sutherland offered more of a physical presence in a game that had the potential to become a bit of a clogfest.1 point

Yer doing fine, son. I'd love to see a front four of Doran, Foran, Rooney & Hayes. Sublime, so get Hayes fit.1 point

Instead of increasing the amount of crossings why dont we reduce the number of bridges across the river. This will give more excitement, it will make the crossing more competitive and will of course encourage more people to use bridges. Mr Doncaster.1 point

Im probably going to get absolute pelters for this but here goes. In my opinion this subject is getting rather tiresome. I have travelled to the majority of away games this season and love nothing more than following my team all over the country. I enjoy everthing about it. The trip down and back on the train, pre match drinks and getting the craic with my mates. But primarily im there to watch the football and support my team. Thats what it is all about. We are all down there to watch the game of football. Now I totally agree with everyone else that some of the stewarding is ridiculous and heavy-handed but at some point everyone is going to have to stop all the nonense and abide by their rules. People got chucked out at the first away game of the season at tannadice and since then it has been happening on a weekly basis. There has been occasions where I too have argued with stewards over their dealings with some fans but there have been many instances where I have fully agreed with Stewards throwing certain fans out. A lot of our fans, particularly the young fans, seem to just be there to start something off with stewards. I've stood at a lot of games aswell but if your told to sit down a couple of times then your just going to have to do what they say. Its not like they are going to change their minds. We are all there to watch the game, not to get chucked out. But everyone cant seem to understand that. The youngsters seem to take great delight in arguing, goading and baiting the stewards. Its no wonder that they are getting chucked out and its embarassing that its happening every away game. Its even more embarassing that these people who have spent a fortune travelling to the game are only getting to see a part of the game when all they had to do was shut their mouths and just get on with the fact that the stewards are arseholes and not going to change their minds. You can slag off the stewards all you like but at some point fans are going to have to change the way they act. Yesterday was a prime example. Granted the steward was way out of line with what he did, but what is he supposed to do when he was constantly getting abuse from them all. Everyone has their breaking point and I would challenge everyone of you to put yourself in his shoes and not react the way he did. I think everyone knows that the boy that it happened to has a fair mouth on him and there has been many occassions where he has been out of order with some of the abuse he has given. He was told many times to sit down but never once did. Why not just shut up, sit down and watch the game like he came to do? Now I know that I'm now going to get dogs abuse for all this but this can't keep happening every week. Stewarding around the country needs changed and they do spoil an enjoyable day out but our fans are also going to have to change if they want this situation to get any better.1 point

If you decide to go along with the charade that is Donkey Doncasters restructuring of the league I personally will not return to TCS until you are no longer part of the set up in Inverness. I believe that a 10 team league will be to the detriment of football in this country and this club. I will not pay good money to watch the club I love die. Do the right thing George. I detest that man who hides one thing in the depths of his heart, and speaks for another. Homer0 points

OK folks .... friendly warning .... topic in danger of being closed down. The topic is about the behaviour of stewards at St Mirren Park last week and even a slightly wider debate about stewarding in general. It is not a terracing or safe-standing discussion and although that may be relevant to stewarding we are certainly not going to let it go down the Hillsborough-Heysel-Bradford City route and be dragged further off topic. to do so would only allow the venom and bile that will surely follow if the last 3 or 4 posts are anything to go by. As an aside: Terracing was not abolished as a result of Heysel, it was abolished as part of the Taylor Report into Hillsborough and even Taylor observed that the terracing was not intrinsically unsafe in and of itself, it was the policing that was the issue in that particular tragedy. EDIT: After a number of complaints submitted by site members using the 'report post' function, I have hidden the initial posts referring to Heysel/Liverpool and several follow up comments (that would now be out of context). Lets stay on topic please.0 points

Unbelievable - do you seriously think that Uncle George is a muppet ? Our board have shown great strides forward in the last 18 months and there is no way that they would sell our souls for such folly, even if they were enticed with any form of lucrative short term proposal.-1 points
