  1. George also did a good interview with Jim Spence at half time at Perth, effectively welcoming the DU development.

  2. Anyone else think that Foran and Doran would have been great names for a couple of Hobbits?

  3. Talk of getting rid of any team is just nonsense, IMO. I don't have any particular fondness to one or other, but basing any campaign to improve the game in Scotland on trying to oust other teams is nonsense and only serves to detract from finding and implementing solutions that can and will work.....for everyone. I'm not saying we need the OF, or any team for that matter, in order to have a viable and entertaining league. I'm also not of the opinion that without them the game would face financial Armageddon. The problem is not (primarily) the teams themselves, it's the system that allows them to bleed the game dry and leave everyone else fighting over scraps, it's the system that is geared around promoting and sustaining a duopoly to the detriment of all others and unless you change the system then you can remove all the teams you like but nothing will change and others will just move in to fill the void and the problems continue.

  4. What the hell is this world coming to when a bit of harmless fun can be construed as inciting hatred. Christ almighty get a life and a sense of humour everyone. Daily ranker Oh no........through my window I see some children playing soldiers. Better phone plod and have this mockery of war stopped.

  5. I'll be voting SNP for both.....and am swithering about just leaving the Status Quo/AV vote blank., because neither is democratic.......but then I think that if I go for AV, I have no need to vote for anyone other than SNP on it if it comes in anyway. Nobody can force me to write 2,3,etc in other wee boxes. Still thinking about that.. My SNP vote is the same no-brainer it has been since I was old enough to vote....and I do vote on the independence issue only.

  6. Lennon was a hard man on the field but so were many other players, including one or two who played for our club. He gave up international football when he and his family were threatened after he had stated he'd be willing to play for a United Ireland Football team if that was forced on that island by FIFA. That organisation doesn't like that there are two teams in Ireland any more than it likes that there are three in Great Britian. I lived in the central belt for many many years and have witnessed first hand the sectarianism that is rife in that region. I've stood with the home support at Brockville v Rangers and been called a fenian b**tard by an eight year old from the other side of the 'cage'. I've been there and been called an orange b**tard when its been Celtic fans on the other side. I've had someone try and drive me off the road because I was riding a green motorbike that had powder-coated white wheels. I've even been abused because the colours of my team are similar to those of the union jack. Sectarianism has not flared up because Lennon has come here. Its just being made more public because the world is watching more closely. For all his faults, and I dont like the guy, and no matter what he has done or who he has offended, he does not deserve the threats, bombs or abuse of his family that he is being subjected to.
