  1. I heard he's been offered a good deal with St Mirren... ;-)

  2. Could be a good signing as long as people don't think he's going to score 20 goals a season cos he won't. Almost guaranteed to become a cult figure!

  3. Seems to be a lot of mixed reviews on Tade, seems to be taking a slating over on P&B, what i can gather is Tade is a strong, powerful, athletic target man who can also play out wide. Causes defenders problems with his strength and pace and while he can score some good goals he is prone to some Djebi-Zadi moments and miss the odd sitter or two in a game. Certainly not the finished article but more of a raw talent needing a fair bit of polishing. Whilst he may not appeal to some fans and indeed some 'ICT' fans on other sites have written him off already, i'm more than willing to give him a fair crack of the whip and will support him fully. What i like to do when assessing new signings is compare him to what we had in the previous seasons. Do i think he will be more of a threat than Odhiambo? Probably. Do i think he will be more of a threat than Sanchez? Certainly less skillful but will cause a lot more problems with his strength and direct running. I think he will be a useful addition to the team. If the worst happens and we lose Rooney, i certainly dont think Butcher will use Tade as a direct replacement

  4. Asam Rooney was no great performer when he first arrived so we should reserve judgement at this time on Tade.

  5. In footballing terms no doubt a step backwards if true. But in life terms, is it not sensible to consider taking something on locally that will allow you to finish your apprenticeship and put a few quid in your pocket? Football is a very fickle business (as Rory will know well) and maybe the boy thinks it's prudent to have something to fall back into befor making the plunge into full time? Seems quite a sensible and mature option to me.

  7. As did Nakamura, Barry Ferguson and every other player. They always do that 'who's the most over-rated player in the SPL?' thread, which basically consists of naming the best players in the league, with a 'he's p1sh' reply. Inhabited by too many dunderheids, that site.

  8. So, an attacking player with plenty of running, terrible first touch, poor finishing and doesn't score many goals. Straight replacement for Eric?

  9. Let's be honest, if this guy was the finished product, we would have no chance of signing him. I think he has potential and it is up to the maangement/coaching team to help him achieve this potential. A gamble perhaps but all signings are that in the market we deal in.

  10. or maybe it shows a maturity beyond his years and a realisation that football is a short career and once its over he will need to find work in the real world just like the rest of us .... finishing his apprenticeship gives him options were he to get injured, go off the boil, or not have it in him to become a coach or manager when he hits his mid thirties or later ......

  11. Obviously the reason he never played for County or Liverpool was due to the fact that he was still a very young player at the time. Also, he did not go to Airdrie after being released from Liverpool, he in fact actually went to Fulham, but again was still probably not expected to break into the first team at that point. IMO he could of/would of gone to play at a very high level but he has had a terrible time with injuries - that it what is "amiss". I don't for one second doubt his ability though, as he's probably one of, if not the best youth player I have ever seen.

  12. Anyone heard anything about Rossco rejecting his contract?!

  13. How Butcher rates Duff and McCann over Munro and Duncan is beyond me. I don't particularly rate either of them at all.

Gary is undoubtedly a good player but I still don't understand why he never broke into County's first team.. Okay he was only 17 when he left but surely all PROPERLY good players should be ready for first team action by then.
