I've been saying it for weeks. I'm sure this wont be the last time I'll say it. WE NEED ANOTHER STRIKER, A POACHER! even if its someone on loan. I'm sure TB can see it. We can't rely on Tade, Sutherland (he has promise but he is too young) and MacKay when he gets back. We haven't even see MacKay play.

Not too promising by the sound of things... We'll be fine! Was it 7 games we went before we eventually won a few seasons back? But no doubt this season will be a struggle. Hopefully Celtic can hump St Johnstone tomorrow though!

Myself and Caleyjag have managed to get ourselves in the position where we have been able to buy our first house and are therefore furiously arranging everything for our move next weekend. I thought that I would post this to help people out when it comes to possibly selecting what digital tv package to get and with who along with broadband and telephone line rental. Up until now I have been convinced that having digital tv, broadband and line rental was the cheapest and most efficient way to have them all but after my recent discussions and problems with Sky I am not so sure. Up until two days ago I had all three with them and while we pay a fair whack each month it was actually cheaper than having all three seperate, I filled out the online moving home form 31 days in advance of the move and received the usual email then a call two days later to advise that all was ok for the engineer to visit on our selected day to fit the digi boxes in the rooms we wanted. Great I thought but what about the phone line and broadband? Mr attitude at the other end of the phone informed me that the line rental would need to be cancelled and takes 14 days to cancel down and the broadband cancels at the same time but takes 4/5 days!! Then when we move into the new house would take a further 14 days for new line to become active, not a happy chappy was I so decided not to cancel the line rental at that time. I called them three days ago to cancel the telephone line giving them the 14 days they required and was informed the broadband takes 7 days to cancel down and also the phone number we have for the house will be lost, we need to get a new one when we move. As well as this I was informed that the engineer visit actually hadn't been arranged at all contrary to what I had been told. Effectively we will be without broadband for nearly 3 weeks and no phone line for 2 weeks, in effect by having all three products with one company has meant we do not have all three products running up until we move. It turns out I would have been better arranging to have digital with Sky, the phone line with say BT and broadband with say Orange meaning I could arrange all three terminations seperately to coincide with the day we move out then arrange the reconnections for when we move in seperately too. All the tosh with having it with one company was nonsense and actually made it worse for us. To think on their website they say that they recognise moving home can be very stressful so let them take the stress out of it by arranging the whole move hassle free!!! What a lot of nonsense, suffice to say MyCJ was not a happy bunny and is seriously thinking about not going back to Sky for broadband and line rental even if it is cheaper and better. If you are expecting to move house in the future make sure you know the down times for products before you take out the deal as you may just be left in limbo for a while during your move, the very time when a telephone line and internet access is most needed what with solicitors and banks and stuff to be dealing with. The guy on the phone three days ago even admitted it was a poor service and they were actively working to improve it, why the advertise it the way you do when in reality it actually isn't that easy. and why not make people aware of all this when they take out the deals or make it visible online for all to see on the moving home page.

Being smack back in Pie Eating country and all the in laws being Wigun supporters I have some genuine inside knowledge here - especially from my brother in law who works at the stadium and watches all the reserve games. Unfortunately he describes Golobart as a skillful, typically Spanish defender who is very strong in the air and likes to play football from the back. He does also describe him as being a bit too cocky at times and prone to have lapses in concentration - and is a far better player when he has more experienced defenders around him. States that he could be deadly from dead ball situations. He has apparently just got into the first team squad due to his performances in training. He stands out in Wigan as he doesnt wears braces or buys his clothes from primark. I am also reliably informed that we made a double swoop here and attempted to take Jordan Rugg on loan as well - not sure as he is another who is injury prone - but were turned down as the Wigun view is that this lad could be a first team squad player if he remains injury free. We appear to be really trying fer strikers - and focussing on the North West - and we have gone back to Owen Coyle again and are trying to broker a deal fer a centre forward - Micahel O'Halloran - from Glasgow - who has also just broke in to the first team squad.

There are many many under 21 players proving to be very successful in English and Spanish leagues. We in Scotland have been so used to seeing teams of hasbeens playing in a league that is stooping to a standard of football that is becoming as good as that of Irish league that we are failing to realise that those U-21's can actually play decent football.

Another very poor first half performance coupled with lack of finishing cost us any chance of salvaging anything from that game. We were very shoddy in the first half with many misplaced passes and important players like Hayes not getting into the game. Foran was very isolated up front until later on in the game and we weren't helped by another diabolical referring error. Aberdeen started much the better of the two teams knocking the ball about well and getting in behind our static defence. Vernon had a cracking chance early in the game but he headed over from inside the six yard box. We were struggling to contain Magennis and I was delighted when he went off later in the game. Hogg and Golobart couldn't handle his strength and pace and it was from his powerful run that Aberdeen took the lead. He just barged through the defence and set up Milson who had a simple finish. I missed their second as I was looking at my phone but when I looked up I saw Golobart on the floor and Vernon was heading for goal. He easily beat Esson and Aberdeen were two goals up without barely breaking a sweat. Aberdeen lashed another effort past Essons post into the side netting as they started to dominate. We were nowhere to be seen as most of our passes went astray and we resorted to aimlessly punting the ball forward where Foran received no help from the midfield. Tansey and Morrison were missing and Andrew Shinnie was very poor. Foran did have one excellent run when he was brought down and the ball found it's way to Hayes who shot at goal and found the net when Crawford Allan suddenly decided to pull play back and give us a free kick despite the fact that Hayes had gone on to score. The second half was much better from an ICT point of view. Andrew Shinnie went off early into the second half to be replaced by Doran and ICT started to stretch the Aberdeen defence a bit more as we played with additional width. With Hayes playing in behind Foran we suddenly had someone with pace to race onto Foran's knockdowns and we had some good chances to get a goal back. Foran was one on one with the keeper but took too long to shot and Hayes and Doran also went through on goal as well but both took too long to get shots away and Aberdeen continued to repel ICTs efforts. We did grab a goal back when Foran managed to reach a poorly executed throw in / pass back and beat the keeper to the ball. Gavin Morrison had a cracking effort well held by the Aberdeen goalie as we looked to grab an equaliser. As we did however we left ourselves very exposed at the back and Aberdeen became dangerous on the counter. Sutherland came on and looked threatening for us whilst Megginson, who had come on for Magennis, could have scored but for some reason chose to throw himself in a heap instead of chasing the ball he had knocked past Hogg. Golobart was also getting into trouble when playing the ball out from defence which brought additional pressures on us. By the end both sides were playing without a midfield as the ball went from one end to the other but there were no further goals. A real game of two halves. Aberdeen were well worth their lead at half time but by the end I think they will have been glad to have heard the whistle as we had them under the cosh for most of the second half. ICT however need to start finishing off these chances that we are creating and cut out the errors that are costing us goals. Very easy to say that of course...

Forgive me for adding a wee bit pessimism, but do we really need another young, inexperienced defender? i cant see young Golly (another one) bringing anymore to the defence other than short term cover, as the obvious back four choice in Rossco's unfair absence is Pier Aldred Hogg and Shinnie.
