  1. Looks like they got last weeks defeat out of their system
  2. He did play, but Carlisle were outplayed and defeated by a Sutton side playing some of their best football I've seen in a while!
  3. Absolutely nothing to do with the previous manager! The bloke left almost a year ago and the team now is picked and plays to Kellacher’s game plan and style. But I’m sure if there’s a result or something negative about ICT old Dunc will be the reason and not the current management in the eyes of a chosen few! bc
  4. With Hamilton drawing this evening, this means that despite the 5 point deduction and only 5 games played, we are already in the promotion play off places! Things are looking good!
  5. We started really well, carving Alloa open at will but never quite finding the killer pass (or getting on the end of it when we did). As the first half progressed, Alloa came more into the game without really threatening. The second half goal gave more urgency to Alloa's play as it did look that they came playing for the draw. When they started pressing us harder, we looked a bit shaky at the back and were probably fortunate not to have a penalty awarded against us. Munro, though, again looked very solid in goal. Overall, I thought it was a very encouraging, positive performance against a very solid and well organised side. After our initial burst, Alloa seemed to get the measure of Bavidge and were doubling up on Longstaff. The introduction of Zimba and Sole posed a very different challenge for the Alloa defence and I wonder whether we might have scored earlier if we had had more of a physical presence up front from the start. It is good we now have genuine options throughout the team and we clearly have the potential to win the league despite the 5 point deduction. We generally play with a much more positive attitude, but from time to time certain players seem not to see team mates in acres of space, or play the ball far too late. It seems as though there remains some of Big Dunc's tactical conditioning of not playing the ball forward until the opponents' defence has got back into position. Hopefully, as the team gels and a growing awareness of teammates' strengths and weaknesses develops, Dunc's dogma will be forgotten and a sharper cutting edge will emerge. I think we are genuine title contenders and have the potential to be very competitive in the championship next year. Scott Kellacher took over the team just under a year ago. What a fantastic job he has done!
  6. Sole Solo Sinks Wasps The Wasps swarmed North for this one unbeaten and top of the table looking to keep ahead of the rest. Their hosts had lost one of their opening four games and were resplendent in their new back to basics red & blue striped kit (only on the front) looking to climb the table. Something was about to give on a bright afternoon for football before the rain came. Ross Millen missed out again, as did Paul Allan and the long term Jake Davidson (did we just dream we signed Millen or is he an AI image). Inverness started with midweek Hat-Trick hero Chanka Zimba and Liam Sole on the bench. Alloa had made three late signings since yesterday. Striker Callum Gallagher returns after leaving the Smokies and young center back Charlie Dewar comes in on loan from the Arabs with midfielder Calum Adamson arriving as part of a cooperation loan deal from Rangers. It took a massive stroke of good fortune for substitute Liam Sole to grab the winner with a deflected shot off Charlie Dewar in a match dominated by the hosts, however we allowed Alloa to push for an equaliser late in the game because we had failed to swat the Wasps away when we were totally dominant and Ross Munro had to pull off a good stop to deny Alloa a late leveller. Oscar McIntyre was a deserved MotM with a great display of wing back wizardry. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A bright opening once more at home from the Caley Jags with Ogayi saving from Calum MacLeod early on and Alfie Stewart being blocked minutes later. We forced a flurry of corners without troubling the defence and Alfie Bavidge was next to be blocked getting a strike away. However, as previously, we fell away as a cutting edge midway through the first half whilst still dominating possession. Alloa were totally ineffective and looked prepared to do what Stenhousemuir did; park the bus and look to take advantage of set-pieces with the experienced Connor Sammon putting himself about. Minutes before the interval Billy Mckay was denied by Ogayi and Bavidge had another effort blocked. HALF TIME: 0-0 The second half was a quieter affair until Bavidge drilled one just wide and then just after the hour the introduction of Liam Sole would liven proceedings up. Stewart saw an effort from outside the box saved by the big keeper and moments later shot just wide. Alloa had their first serious effort when Adamson tried his luck but Ross Munro was equal to it. Sole then burst into life with a fleet footed display. Firstly he was denied by Ogayi then he twinkle toed his way in from the left to fire into the box where the ball ricocheted off Charlie Dewar to leave the keeper stranded as the net bulged. Calum MacLeod burst forward only for Ogayi to save. Into the final few minutes and with the game still finely poised, Alloa sensed they might be able to nick a point. First MacKinnon looked to clear a low drive across the box from Charlie Dewar and in the final flurry with keeper Ogayi coming forward for a corner, Luke Donnelly had a shot blocked and Adamson likewise with Munro pulling off a diving save to keep our advantage intact. 7. My friend mentioned that Broras money man was all over Jack Walker like a bad suit yesterday in the main stand before KO 🤣
  8. I think it highlights the transformation since this time last year. We now know what we are capable of and expectations are high. I agree with you, though. Today was all about getting the job done, which was achieved.
  9. The best thing about this team is you know at around 60-70 mins we have real quality coming on to chase a win.
  10. Sutton United are playing Carlisle United tomorrow- Cameron Harper should be in Carlisles team, I shall be at the match, might get a chance to wish him well. Carlisle are in third place whilst Sutton are already languishing in a relegation spot, may be a tough match for Sutton. Carlisle play in Red, Blue and White stripes...so wearing a Caley shirt in his honour probably not on 🤪
  11. Are some folk really having a moan after we just beat the team that's top of the league and were undefeated until today?
