As the topic description says, signed on loan for 6 months according to todays Sun, no online link available It says the loan signing of Wes Fletcher has stalled though

Buckie back in the cup
thats a belter I was thinking along those lines too until I noticed the killer line in the newspaper - all the teams have access to an extranet where they could check that the players have been registered. So the "it was in the post, honest" line was no longer a reasonable excuse. If they had made a minimal effort they could have seen for themselves if the registration was acknowledged and if not, contacted the SFA to check. Victims of their own ineptitude really. I didnt know this, i originally felt that expulsion was a bit harsh but if there was an easily accessible way to check registration and they didnt use it then they cant really complain

Red Card
I was amazed that the linesman could see an incident 30 yards away clearly enough yet he missed a clear red card lunge on Shinnie only 10 yards away.

Curse of the Captain
I agree with the sponge what goes against Foran is that he set such high standards with some exceptional performances over the past 12 months, his form has dropped a bit (like others in the team i may add) and things arent going quite his way ATM however i have no doubt once he regains his form he will go back to having a huge influence in the team

Russell Duncan
I am continually suprised by Butchers eagerness to drop Duncan, it seems like Duncan is always the first one to be dropped from the team if things arent going right. IMO Duncan is a very important player as he carries out the dirty work in the middle of the park. He is 100% committed and always full of energy, just what you need in a midfield battler yet he is continually dropped and i cant say i agree with it. I can see why some fans get on his back as his passing is not always the best but nevertheless he still has many important attributes to offer the team. With a bit more luck on saturday he could have won us the game as well. great run into the box and very unfortunate not to score

Kilmarnock sign AC Milan striker
Few corrections from that original article: He is a midfielder and its not a loan, its a permanent transfer until end of the season. Interesting to see if he's any good

Charlie Adam
Figures of between 10 and 12 million being banded about in the press today for his signature. Not a bad profit for Blackpool if he goes, they only bought him for ?500k a few seaons ago

First Signing of the Window
Glad to see us bringing in more attacking options. We could still do with another forward IMO as we really only have one out and out striker in Rooney and while he has hit a bit of a dry patch we dont really have another option seeing as Foran,Odihambo, Sanchez, Blumenshtein and Sutherland are all seen more as attacking midfielders/wide men

Rooney in talks with Hibs
I think his form is suffering as a result of the uncertainties surrounding his future. I think for all parties concerned, the sooner this is sorted the better.

10 Team SPL - Confirmed...
What really annoys me is how Doncaster continually ignores the views of the fans. Without the fans there would be no football in Scotland yet he sees fit to push forward with plans which the majority of football fans are dead against. Some of the quotes attributed to him are laughable at best. This quote from Doncaster really annoyed me; 6 different winners in the last 6 years? that to me doesnt sound weak, it sounds competitive. While the first division may not be glamourous or full of super-rich teams buying European superstars it is a highly competitive league full of teams trying to play football and trying to win the league which almost any team has a chance of. Clearly Doncaster doesnt want a competitive league, he seems happy for the SPL to continue to be a closed shop and dominated by the Old Fim. I have no faith in this man to rescue or indeed improve scottish football in any way whatsoever.

MERGED: Rooney Transfer ???
I didnt realise Sammon was out of contract in the summer. Nonetheless his valuation should be similar to Rooneys Similarly i wasnt aware that our original contract offer was made to Adam in August. Didnt see that reported anywhere When i said Rooney wasnt under contract, i meant that he was free to speak to other clubs.

MERGED: Rooney Transfer ???
If Rooney was under contract then i would expect him to worth at least the same if not more than Connor Sammon. Unfotunately he is not under contract and fees of around ?100k - ?150k are being banded around. Too many times this club have missed out on potential transfer fees because we have not players tied to contracts. We should have had Adam tied to a contract long before now. Not only would it guarantee us a transfer fee if he decided to move but we would not be left in the middle of the season with the problem of replacing our primary goal threat.

Team for 'well
The only reason i dropped Foran was because he has been slightly off the boil in the last couple of games. Certainly not up to his normal very high standards

Our worst ever players in the SPL?
only one i'd remove from that list would be Fox, always thought he was a decent enough player. Not outstanding but decent very very harsh to suggest Blumenshtein given that he hasnt even played a full 90 minutes for the club

ICT -V- Elgin City : Matchday Thread
Glad to be through, it was painful viewing at times plus points - stopping the losing run rooney back in the goals sanchez' great finish shinnie overlapping very well on the wing sutherland looking dangerous when he came on minus points - profligacy in front of the goal scrappy passing hoofball too often duffs corners odhiambo had the close control of an elephant today

I think a lot of our problems at home arise from the fact that we do not adapt our formation to suit playing at home. The 4-2-3-1 which he has stuck with has been a revelation away because it is suited perfectly to playing counter attacking football. We have done it to teams for over a year and now teams are doing it to us on our own patch Simply put, we should not be playing counter attacking football at home. Away from home we are happy for the opposition to have the ball at the back and then break up play and counter. This will not work at home and quite evidently is not working. We gave Killie too much time on the ball and they passed in simple triangles to feet and could retain possession comfortably. Killie or any away team for that matter should not have seen as much of the ball as was allowed tonight. IMO the 4-2-3-1 system is ideal on the road but we need to alter it at home so that the opposition see as little of the ball as possible.
