  1. good signing who will add depth to our squad however i think Terry should maybe look at trying to strengthen our attacking options. Given the current situation where so many footballers find themselves without clubs i hope we can benefit
  2. im in the same boat, thought i was onto a winner last weekend with our game. Even had a few coupons depending on it. Could Lithuania recoup some losses for me

  4. I havent heard anything but would happily sign up him on a short term deal to provide cover. Still looks like a great prospect to me
  5. delighted to see Pele get back involved football, where he belongs IMO
  6. ive heard rumours that Hibs signed Griffiths from dundee and Aberdeen signed Alan Gow
  7. Only 10 minutes left now. Thought we might have got even a decent loan deal. i hope its just a case of slow reporting on behalf of the media. ever the optimist
  8. Au contraire, mon ami, I would say it is you who have dodged it. Surely logic dictates that you have the easy job- proving a positive is far simpler than proving a negative. Just show how he has, quote, "won games for us and scored important goals for us". If you cannot produce such a list, then indeed his contribution to this mighty club has been negligible. Never mind consulting sources, you could do it from memory with other (non-negligible) ICT players such as Denzil or Bobby Mann, so why not with Imrie? Apart from his excellent free kick at Tynecastle, (a game we lost anyway) I cannot think of one thing about Imrie that I will remember in 10 years time, when we're still talking about people like 10cc, Barry Robson, Barry Wilson, Jim Calder, Broonie, etc, etc, etc. Even Alan Hercher gives me more memories of his 2 years or so at this club than Imrie does. Apart from his pace and a strong left foot shot, he is a limited footballer. He runs into blind alleys, has little vision, very little skill and cannot make a pass. I mean when he tries to pass, as opposed to when he's just being greedy. However you seem to think I dislike him personally - not so. I admire how far he has come in the game with so little talent. p.s. I bet you weren't even at the Arbroath game ive dodged my own question?? Did i say he was anywhere near the level of club legends such as Denzil or Mann? Absolutely not. So where you got that one from i do not have the foggiest. All i said was that he has contributed to this club and either through goals or assists has helped this team win games in the past. Naming each individual positive action of Imries is nigh on impossible i dont have the time nor inclination to list every single positive action he has made in an ICT shirt. The only reason i posted in this thread was because people seemed to be overly concerned by his off-field demeanour or his sometimes inflammatory behaviour on field and not what he does in a football respect. Were going round in circles. you clearly think he is crap, i dont however, and going by the fact he is at his second SPL club it would appear a few others seem to be of the opinion that he isnt such an attrocious player as you make out. At the end of the day he is no longer an ICT player so he is of little concern to me now.
  9. Not good news at all Foran and Gil 4 weeks and McCann 3 weeks. Could do with a loan signing or two to provide some cover
  10. Well, since you've got a bee in your bonnet about how Imrie appears to be an ICT legend, and you started slinging the mud at me, even though I wasn't the only poster to criticise him, how about you kick it off by listing all his achievements? Or maybe your interest is not 'football based'? i see you dodged my question about how you think Imries contribution to ICT has been negligible i certainly do not have bee in my bonnet nor did i sling any mud at anyone. i merely suggested the statement where you described his contribution to ICT as negligible was 'absolute twaddle', if you find that offensive or provocative then i am sorry. Im not going to list all of his achievements nor could i without refering to an external source and to be honest thats not what is being discussed in this thread. Imrie played over 60 games for ICT and like it or not his contribution either directly or indirectly won us games. If this is deemed as negligible then i need to check the definition of negligible The main jist of what im trying to say is, football is full of varying characters, some we like, some we dont, however the crux of the matter is not our opinions on the player but what he does for the club. Imrie, whether you find him friend or foe, contributed to this team.
  11. absolute twaddle!! your basing your opinion on a booking and a sending off which while annoying was borne through frustration?? have you never done anything in the heat of the moment? Imrie was not to blame for that defeat in Perth, our second half collapse was. Twaddle yourself! How do you know what my opinion is based on? Do you always reply to posts without reading them properly? can i ask what your basing your opinion then? bearing in mind that he has won games for us and scored important goals for us i struggle to see how it is football based
  12. completely agree ICTPAISLEY
  13. i thought he was one of our better players today however the OP raises a very good point. He is far too lightweight and seriously needs to strengthen up to be able to compete against SPL full backs.
  14. absolute twaddle!! your basing your opinion on a booking and a sending off which while annoying was borne through frustration?? have you never done anything in the heat of the moment? Imrie was not to blame for that defeat in Perth, our second half collapse was. i always thought Imrie was a good player although admittedly sometimes hot-headed and inconsistent but always a trier. He was definitely an asset to have in the team and still to this day I think getting rid of him was a mistake. I think he proved this by getting more than 4 MoM awards for Hamilton in the SPL immediately after he left us Whether he is a likable character or not is not the case in hand. he winds folk up but at the end of the day he has the ability to win games. as he did for us and as he did for hamilton today much to our annoyance.
  15. HT: 2-0 FT: 3-0 1st scorer ICT: Hayes 1st scorer Opp: Imrie Crowd: 3408
  16. heres a link to the story, the main jist of the story is that Butcher is keen to tie down Rooney to a new contract which is great news glad to hear it

  18. Completely pointless ban, whats the point in banning a player for 18 games that has no intention of playing for the national team ever again!!

  21. i think your bang on Really think we could do with a couple of loan signings to strengthen our wide attacking options
  22. The Hayes foul by Mulgrew was clearly a bookable foul and i think pretty much anyone in the stadium could see that bar the ref and his uselss linesmen. That foul on Munro by Samaras coupled with his blatant hand ball should have seen him walk but despite those clear bookable fouls and other handballs/fouls he was allowed to stay on the pitch.

    Formations

It think its hugely unlikely that Butcher will change the formation after 1 game in the SPL. He used only two formations last year and once we found success with the 4-2-3-1 he stuck to it rigidly. I think he will continue to use it unless we really struggle over the next few months
  25. Because Callum Murray is a rubbish referee. Agree with that assessment. How on earth could Hayes foul anyone when he had the ball and was running full steam into the box!! Crazy decision from the referee. Not the only one in the game, how Mulgrew and Samaras were not booked remains a mystery to me.
