Hastings
I think **** - whom we all love - has improved greatly since he went away. He has tasted both Ross-shire and Champions league footy, but has decided that his best interests lie with the club that brought him on. We have not seen the best of him yet. Great news.

Ref on Sunday
mmmm Absence of Blackie. Co-incidence? I think not!

Ref on Sunday
2nded. You hardly knew he was there. Which is more than could be said for the standside linesman, who was sleeping of his roast dinner.

Out with the old...
Derived from Hibs song when Mixu P, arrived we could start singing to the tune of "Everybody Salsa" Marcus Paatalainen What a fekkin signing Na Na Na Na, Na Na Na Na etc Or to the tune of the first line of "Imagine" Imagine no Neil Lennon rpt Never forget he is a diving corrupt whining cheat, that tries to damage the career of other professionals.

Caley v Hibs - Smileymometer
One or two of Fraser's early kickouts looked weak, but he picked up on that. Hastings was worth 5. Wilson had some quiet spells before he scored. Agree about Duncan, he put a few passes awry, but moved froward a bit more than we are used to seeing. Rankin and Hastings are working well together and he was worth more than 3. Wyness was shot shy and seemed to get pushed off the ball too easily. There were genuine penalty opportunities going begging if he hd carried on his solo runs. Best trapper of the ball since Robson. Crect about Dargo, saw some brilliant flourishes right in front of the stand. Sad, sad loss. Hibs were pretty good to watch in midfield, as always, just grand that none of the other bits work!

BENJI
He seems to be a bit of a "character". We took particular delight in his cocking things up after that. Also amusing was his antics in the televised match v Aberdeen, the 2-2, he was fouled and was acreaming and rolling about on the deck as if in agony. His teammates tried to get him up and he was hitting them, quite hard to get away. He then popped up and scampered off. Must be cultural.

ICT V HIBS -21/01 - matchday thread -
It was a great team performance. We nearly had 2 before Dargos strike, before the lads realised it was going to be that easy! Done at walking pace. Collins' HT reshuffle seemed to ge them closer to goal, but I think Fraser had lierally two saves to make. There was some dirty stuff going on in th Hibs midfield, but the team, yes even Blackie, seemed to rise above it. Markus got a run, and Duncan was good today as well. Ranking looked very at home on the left wing, but Rossco seems to have to do a lot of work on the other side, due, I think to Bazzas roving remit. Hastings to was excellent. Wyness could do with getting a bit more steel in his game. Notes too how well Roy McBain recovers and tracks back when he ***** up, which wasn't often today. Blooming great. We should be gearing up to climb a few places, lets hope this result acts as a launch pad. Well done the boys.

Hibs Tactics
I think there may be a case for playing a holding defence with Duncan in the middle, not least to protect Fraser at first. I recall the 3-0 game, they ran and ran at us all night and got no change whatsoever, cos we made the breaks count. I predict a 1-0 for us. Uptown top Rankin a bullet from the LHS of the box, 51st minute. I thank you.

Captaincy
Duncan - two touches and he's lost the ball :004: Touche/ Mon ami. :004:

Pendulum swings towards United
That will do nicely.

Captaincy
I started laughing at the line about captaincy maturing Barry Robson, and have just stopped now. Granty - too young/quiet Black - too angry Tokely - too unfit Dods - too going to Arabs Hastings - too one sided Wilson - too unpredictable The answer is Russell Duncan.

Marcus Paatelainen...
*gulp* Even though he is from that famous and celebrated footballing nation, Finland, I welcome this signing. Hurrah for spending money! Hurrah for buying from lower league clubs! Hurrah for a thorough scouting policy! Europe here we come.

ICT V St Mirren - matchday thread
To rerun the old cliche, this was a game of two halves. First fluid passing football and clinical finishing, second - half finshed passes, long punts, no urgency. Why? Yes, Mirren were poor, but came out a different team. Why do we seem to have demotivational half-time talks? Good play from Bayne and Wyness who are, I can say without any fear of contradiction our first choice strikers. NIce to see the strikers on the scoresheet. Rankin had an erratic time, and though Wilson worked hard, not much worked for him. McBain had one of his best for a while. Hastings was grand and Dods and Munro, solid, mostly. Something just ain't right with Rosco just now though. And yes it was great to see a game without Black getting booked, even once... Nice to get the 3, but we will need to perform better than this to pick up points from teams above us. A guarded hurrah.

Black a liability
Waste of a talented footballer. I say send him to Boot Camp at Peterhead for a short sharp shock under SP. He will give him neurolinguistic programming, aversion therapy and a good kicking. Blackie will return next season, as a respectful, skilled and valued member of the ICT playing community.

humble pie
I spent a wee bit of time in Dundee, penniless, in the early 1990's and recall the way the kebabs near Tannadice had a curry flavour to them, unlike the Embra ones which were plainer. You could smell it all along the road. mmmm kebabs... Big laffs on Arnies T-shirt!!

No surprise that. Until the 91st minute it was going to be a shock draw.

ICT V Rangers - matchday thread
I hope you can hear this because I am hoarse from shouting. When the heat went out of the second half, I thought that was it, but that it would take something special - and up steps Rankin! We have lost a few late ones, so it was great to win by a late one. Bayne and Wyness looked like they had been playing together all season, Rankin was creative and the defence was back to its usual wall-like self. Hastings was my MOM - ran the length of the field, put in crosses, marked his man really did the work of two. Brown had no saves in anger to make. As a previous poster has said I just wish Black would run on from sweeping rather than try the long ball, and Tokely wants to get back to the gym - faded big style in the second half. But these comments are a bit churlish - great entertainment, and it is soooo sweet beating the huns and hearing them moaning that we have no right to. They looked very ordinary, and if it hadn't been for a couple of class McGregor saves the scoreline would have reflected the game a lot more accurately. It's getting to be a habit! We have a couple of hard games, the kind we don't like to win, but must if we want to reinstate ourselves as mid-table challengers. Good on Charlie and the chaps, now lets do it when the cameras aren't rolling!!
