  1. aye, great logic it's entirely his fault that thier in the position thier in is it? They wouldn't have released him if they thought he was a valuable player who could help them avoid relegation. He was obviously unwanted there
  2. If the home fans don't buy the tickets, then they surely can't have an issue if the club want to look at ways of maximising revenue. I'm certain that the club wouldn't even have thought about using the North Stand for away fans, but now that this has been suggested I wouldn't be surprised if they give it some consideration for next season. I can tell you for sure that they are disappointed with the uptake from the North Stand for the cup game, so this might be something to think about. At the end of the day if the stand is full of ICT fans there will be no room for 'away' fans Really? The same game last season in the cup had over 6.000 at it, and that was midweek. I would have expected this to be pushing a sell out!
  3. In addition to that I can remember- Losing to lower league Partick away in the Scottish Cup, live on Sky. Beat Stranraer in Scottish cup in 2nd/3rd divison, and playing Hamilton in the next round at home and losing 3-1. Lost to Motherwell in the League cup 4-1 on pens or something ridiculas like that. Beat Partick at home in League cup in lower leagues Beat 3rd division Montrose on pens in Challenge cup in 2009-10. (I remember this as I stuck £100 on Caley to win, for a potential gain of £20!!) I'm sure there has been more as well.
  4. Being let go by a 3rd teir team in England...sounds great! If he isnt't good for a team flirting with dropping into the 4th teir in England then no thanks!
  5. Darren Mackie Over Rooney, Niculae. I'd even take Rory McAllister back over Mackie
  6. Just looking on official site for the shop and noticed a 'on this day section.' Never seen this before, quite interesting though. On 21st January we have played 3 games ICT 3-0 Hibs Falkirk 1-4 ICT Queens Park 4-1 ICT oft!! How things have changed since then!
  7. We signed up to the tv deal and happily take the money from it. This includes some monday night games. We are lucky that this is our first and prob only monday night game of the season. We are rarley on tv as it is anyway, especially away from home. Is this the only away game this season that has been moved? Not too bad actually.
  8. We get no extra revenue from this game being on tv. Makes no difference how many of our games in the league are shown live we still get the same amount of money.
  9. So priority groups only have today and tomorrow! Not much time since most won't even know about this until the deadline has passed! And why not sell tickets before the Hearts game as well, would make it easier for a lot of people if a stall/s was set up to sell celtic outside the stadium.
  10. Winning the cup would surely gain more money than 1 extra home game against the OF and realistically 5th or 6th placed prize money over 7th. I would rather finish 11th and win the cup over finishing 5th or 6th anyday!! Scrap that I would rather win the cup than finish 2nd or 3rd. Winning the cup puts you in Europe a further round than 3rd and the same as 2nd. And no one remembers who finished 2nd or 3rd in a random season years ago. Winning the cup has defined a lot of team's histories and is their greatest achievement. Killie in 97 Hearts in 98 St. Mirren 87 Motherwell 91 etc. I can list these off the top of my head but couldn't tell you who finished 2nd or 3rd in these years.
  11. There can't be an agreement that Tuffey plays in the Scottish cup anyway. Last season Tuffey played against Elgin and Morton but for the Celtic game Esson came back in and Tuffey was back on the bench. Strange one if we are only using him in lesser games that we think we might win. For that reason I wouldn't be supprised if Esson was back in the team tonight.
  12. Rooney wasn't the greatest at one on ones either!
  13. Esson looked like he just learnt how to punch today! Seemed to be punching the ball away constantly
  14. Stick a bet on it now!! I had a dream the Thursday before the first game that we drew 1-1. I told my dad and brother that I had a wee betting tip for them to lump on 1-1 but didn't really think to put a bet on it. And low and behold we drew 1-1!! I'll update any dreams I have this week!!
  15. I think it's more the case he wanted to move back south. Guess there weren't as many offers or a connection between people at the clubs since its a short term loan. Not great for his development though as he will be playing at a worse standard and for a really poor team.
  16. The profit would easily be more than £120k. It is 83k per team for a live game. So if we manage to beat Dunfermline we will have gained 166k. Then take in gate reciepts, sponsorship, hospitality, prize money it will be 200-250k I'd imagine. This will mean nothing if we lose next wed though!
  17. You sure? The bbc reports both say it was Barrowman. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16495392.stm http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16371489.stm Anyhoo, makes no difference who it was. If it was a foul, and it looked like one to be fair, then it's a fair red card.
  18. If it was a foul then a red card is surely just. How is it absurd? If we are going with it was a foul then Barrowman had an open goal to roll the ball into and Gillet brought him down stoping a certain goal. It was also outside the box so not even a penatly to make up for it. Getting a yellow card for stopping a certain goal would be more obsurd. What is the difference with hacking someone down who has an open goal or handling the ball on the line? The open goal one is actually a worse foul being outside the box as a freekick is no where near as benificial as a penalty. And no jokes about Barrowman probably missing it anyway!
  19. Maybe being a bit optimistic but if its 83k for a live game if we can win that is £166,000 just from Sky and with tickets probably about an average of £15 (maybe I'm being optimistic over prices here and it will be £20 as usual) we should be able to get over £200,000 easily maybe nearer £250,000, even with the split with Celtic. Anyway this is all if's and but's. We need to beat Dunfermline first and we have played them 3 times this season and it has resulted in 3 draws. So Dunfermline should be just as confident as us about winning this game.
  20. The only angle I have seen was the sportscene one and it was impossible to tell if he got any of the ball. Looked more of a foul on tv though so not really suprised with this one.
  21. 5th round live game are: ICT or Dumfermline v Celtic Saturday 4th Febuary 12.45 k.o Sky Sports Rangers v Dundee Utd Sunday 5th Febuary 12.15pm k.o BBC Hearts v St. Johnstone Sunday 5th Febuary 2.15pm k.o Sky Sports We all pretty much knew it would be a live game anyway. At least it's on the Saturday as well and not an awful k.o time either.
  22. What a load of nonsense. It's not long ago that a cup tie like this would have too much demand for tickets. Even with reduced crowds these days we would easily have more fans wanting to go to a Scottish cup match v Celtic than the 2,500 or so that the main stand holds. There was 6,064 at this game in the cup last season, which was a rearranged midweek game. So taking away the away support then there was still far more home fans than the capacity of the main stand. I reckon this game would get about 6,500+
  23. What's a penalty?
  24. If this did go through i can't say i would be interested in standing in the 'West Stand'. Cold and open to the elements, if there was similar stands as the north and south, but with safe standing areas, i would be first there. Wouldn't be overly up for that either. Unless they extended the height of the terracing a bit and out a decent roof over it which would help with the noise coming from there. Not one like they had behind the goals in the first division.
