  1. What has it got to do with the sfa?
  2. I'm sure if you did poll the OF fans then the overwhelming majority would not favour a 10 team league. What a load of tosh he was speaking.
  3. I've had a ticket from a cup game in the past which read ICT v someone or someone. Can't remember who it was but I'm almost certain of it. I have a semi final ticket that has Inverness v someone or someone, can't quite remember if it was the Dundee or Dunfermline semi. Hopefully they go on sale soon as i'll be wanting to make arrangements to come up. That might be the one I'm thinking of. So there is nothing stopping the club getting this sorted out and tickets on sale to home fans soon and then post down the away fans tickets once the reply has een done. The price is going to be the same no matter who we play so I'm sure the club could speak to both sets of the OF and agree a potential price should they win their game so we can get tickets on sale earlier.
  4. Just to say that both sections of his report are free to read online. A quick google search and you will find them. Also I was reading that a pyramid system is pretty much dead in the water now becasue the 3rd division teams don't want it. This is as bad as the SPL farce, of course they don't want it as they could drop out of the league, again thinking of themselves and not the good of Scottish football. Third Division club 'Clubs want to play in a Scottish league, not a regional set up' and 'I'm not sure there is any appetite for the pyramid system from the clubs outside the SFL.' Not sure, how about we try asking them and I'm sure there would be plenty of appetite for it. Load of rubbish again, http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/scot_div_1/9402172.stm

  6. Im guessing it's the same wee **** that is always at St. Mirren and Morton with his clipboard thinking he is so important standing at the bottom of the stand pointing at people to be thrown out;. He is an arse of the highest order. Everyone should email St. Mirren about this. It has become beyond a joke and the over aggressive stewarding only creates problems and raises tensions. At Hearts the stewards stand at the bottom of the stand and just leave the fans to have a good time and there is never a problem and it is viewed by most as the best away day. This used to be the case at Hibs as well but that seems to have changed. Not once in the many games I have been to abraod are the stewards like this, they keep out of the way and let the fans enjoy themsleves and I guess only get involved if there is serious trouble. I'm just sick of it here and it really puts me off going to away game, Hibs is a game I would never normally miss but I'm having second thought about going after last time as it just ruins the whole day out. The SPL keep going on about improving fan experience and raising crowds, well this is one way to start.
  7. So who will be playing left back?
  8. Miller isn't that long a sername! Jan Venegoor of Hesselink scored a last minute winner a few weeks before the cup tie, then Pressley and Miller scored two late goals after Bayne had put us ahead in that horrible cup game. Pressely and Miller was Round 5 of the cup. We were 1-0 up till the 88th minute when Pressely equalised. In extra time Miller got the winner. The league game a few weeks before that Riordon took the lead for Celtic in 37. Bayne equalised in 57 and Vinegar got the winner in about the 4th minute of injury time. Im pretty sure it was the quarter final they beat us in . You didn't snnely edit your post there to take out the bit about us not getting to the quarter out did you!!

  10. I agree 100%. You do deserve a round of applause. So well done Dougal. I really hope the club honour you in some way. Joe
  11. Our best chance of europe is winning the cup. If we beat Rangers or Celtic then we should count ourselfs as favourites for the cup.
  12. Seen this before and wondered if a Celtic fan had an input inot it's desgin. What do colours that had a real similarity to the irish flag have to do with inverness. Get it changed to red and blue!!
  13. We could sign a few fijian rugby players and play them in defence since they are big and fast...
  14. Better get invading then, I'd support an 18 team league then. Might as well nab Carlisle while were at it.
  15. A league of 20 is just getting ridiculas. We could never support such a large top flight in Scotland.
  16. That is what happens in Spain as well so 2 teams (in Spains case) do get the lions share of the revenue and in Portugals case 3 teams get the lions share. So it does happen in other countries and it would be much worse here if we had the same system as Rangers and Celtic would get far more than they already do. 'The dominance is felt most on TV ? and that is the crux of the issue, the precarious foundation upon which Spanish football is built. Unlike elsewhere ? and even Italy is going collective ? Spanish clubs negotiate individual television deals. "The lack of a centralised deal is the biggest problem we face," Tebas says. The reason is clear. Madrid and Barcelona will earn approximately ?120m in rights each year until 2013. Last season's third-placed side, Sevilla earn around ?20m; Valencia, currently third, make under ?30m ? less than Portsmouth. Right throughout the league, the imbalance is extraordinary. Competing is impossible.' http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2010/mar/28/barcelona-real-madrid-spain
  17. I think it would especially if we continue with the CIS Insurance Cup and Scottish Cup. The Portuguese League has a top division with 16 teams who compete in two cup competitions and that seems to work. Could be possible but it is quite a simplistic comparison there. Could be other issues that I'm not aware of. Not sure we can make the comparrison with Portugal or any other country Andrew. None of those countries have a system whereby two teams get the lions share of all revenue to keep them on top. No other country has a league totally dominated by two teams. Portugal is similar to Scotland in that it is dominated by 3 teams (to our 2), Benfica, Sporting and Porto. The league has only ever been won twice by other teams in it's history! If comparisions are to be made it should be made to countries with a similar population to us.
  18. and get a proper haircut!! I think if they had said ir more advance than a few days that they would be doing cheap tix for a few of the diddy teams like hamilton & st johnstone we might get a better turnout. should be a good crowd for the elgin game but it's about creating awareness aswell as just the gesture. The Elgin game will be below 3,000 comfortably. Aren't elgin going to be taking a few pikey's through with them on saturday seeing as it is a derby kinda an the first time the teams have met in a competitive competition nationally? Yeah but it will still be between 2-3,000

  20. Caley Club is good for before games. The drink and food is cheap, has tv's showing sky/espn games and has a bus taking you to and back from the game. A bit more advertising would be better though! They have got better with letting in non members in on match days as well.
  21. Why the need for another petition? There was already the supporters survey recently that had about 5,000 participants and showed 80 odd percent were against a 10 team league. Do we really need another similar thing?
  22. I would like to see playoffs introduced at the bottom of the league as they are exciting and maybe look at the possiblity of having a playoff for the last league Europa place. (This won't work at the moment with 3rd place being our last guaranteed position and I think whoever finishes 3rd deserves qualification for Europe but it could work if we regain a 4th league place). For the other points- I don't like the idea of more midweek games at all, doesn't suit as in the slightest. The lower ticket prices are something everyone wants but I can't see it happening in the near future. Also reducing ticket prices by half won't double the crowd, I remember Motherwell heavily reduced theirs for a time and there was no major rise in crowds. You can't scrap the Euro place for Scottish Cup winners, for a start the winners deserve a place in Europe, it adds extra meaning to the cup and also UEFA won't allow it. The national cup winners get a place by their rules. The league did try to remove the Euro place for runners up, which I agree with as coming second in the cup isn't an achievement which should be rewarded over 4th place in the league, but UEFA said that we couldn't do this.
  23. Well said, agree totally. How long till Sky and other broadcasters push for a 10 team English Premiership so they can have Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs, Man C and Liverpool all playing each other four times a season? Beware the Birminghams, Wigans, West Broms and Blackpools of this world! Birmingham etc are big enough clubs to sustain top level football and there are plenty others in the championship of a decent size who could fit into the top level. Cowdenbeath and Brechin aren't and will never be a big enough club to operate at the top level. Comparing us to England is daft as they have over 10 times the population as us and can sustain a top flight of 20 teams. In Scotland we can't and it's just fantasy thinking we can.
  24. I'm not entirely sure but it porbably includes SKY who said they won't pay as much for a 16 team league. A revamped league cup I don't think would make up anywhere near the shortfall as the crowds in that cup are poor, even in derby games.
  25. So what do you propose? What do you think is the best system? And why? I say 16 is best because it will alow us to re-build broken, debt-ridden teams, by bringing them in from the cold, that is, if we get people in place that also want to save Scottish football. It will also allow teams to forego buying in over-paid imports, and play youth, which are free, and a source of revenue, far greater than TV money, and a lot more stable. Tackling debt, by supporting clubs, by taking away the fear of oblivion, and creating a real effort-based all-leavel youth programme. Ideas such as regional youth leagues, drafts, etc., have all been discussed here. Splits and play-offs to combat reduction in games/competitiveness have also been discussed. What are your alternatives? Don't be like the SPL and just say no. It's not drugs we're selling... Sorry but that is just pure fantasy. It's been reported clubs would lose £1m by going to a 16 team league, budgets would have to be slashed, the quality of player would reduce dramatically and therfore the quality of the league, crowds would probably drop as well. Yes we would be playing more youth players but at the moment we are seeing plenty of young players get their chance at a young age, the ones who are good enough. The reduction of games will harm clubs and what split has been proposed in a 16 team league? You don't give any example of a workable one. And any idea of playoffs at the top end of the league has already been thrown out. I just don't think 16 or 18 is workable and going by this article on the BBC http://news.bbc.co.u...rem/9339466.stm all member clubs have been persuaded against a 16 or 18 team league so it looks like it's not even an option. I would prefer a 14 team league, play each other twice (26 games) then split into a 6/8 giving 36/40 games. The lower end have 2 more home games which can ofset not playing the bigger teams and these teams are generally not going to be in Europe, later stages of cups regularly as well. Also have playoffs at botom of spl/top of 1st. The only realistic options at the moment seem to be a 10, 12 or 14 team league.
