From the Club site: The total Stadium cost was to be just short of ?5 million and a complex web of mutually dependent funding relied on the Council releasing the ?900,000. On Monday December 19th (1995) a final vote secured the funding. A condition was the incorporation of Inverness into the Club name, a matter already considered at the Members' Club meeting the previous June. The first competitive game as ICT was an extra time League Cup defeat away to Clyde with a total of 5 league games played at Telford Street as Inverness CT.

Dundee won't lose today but can well see Morton drawing with them. County will potentially drop points at Airdrie who had a great result on Wednesday and will try to keep that going while I think, understandably, County have their eye on other things now. Today may well be the day but Dunfermline aren't going to get anything from, particularly with Munro and Cox out of the side. A draw wouldn't be catastrophic but with those 2 out of the side we are missing two very hard working defensive players who probably don't get the credit they deserve. I don't think anything will be be decided for sure today (quite happy to be proved wrong though!)

If Savage bought into Clach maybe HC could use him to put down a 3g surface at Clach Park instead of paying back whatever ?000's Clach owe HC? A community facility at an established football ground which could make money through the week at evenings and weekends as well as providing training facilities for ICT, Clach and potentially also a home for Inverness City. Social club would very probably become a viable business again so facilities such as these are major income generators for the 5 a side companies, for example. Makes sense to me.

Don't particularly care about his past record... He's doing the business for us and on the verge of achieving something truly remarkable - promotion from Division One at the first attempt. Really do not understand what people hope to achieve by being negative and knocking things constantly...

SPL is the only place to be as far as football and the future of the club is concerned. Division 1 has been enjoyable this season, or since November rather, as we have been playing good football and winning matches. If we had maintained our poor start to the season and had been out of the running for promotion a couple months back would anyone be enjoying Division 1? I doubt it!! Division 1 has been fun this season but that's simply because we are winning regularly and showing good football IMO. The matches are still over priced, the stadiums are half empty and often decrepit, the quality of the football in general is pretty poor and the food/catering is pretty ropey at best in a lot of cases. If we don't go back up this year we'll lose a lot of the players responsible for our entertaining football and as a few people have stated above, a long term rot will set in. As far as the future of full-time professional football is Inverness is concerned, it's a total no brainer. It is vital ICT are a regular SPL club.

Think it was 10 games you had to be involved in and I'm sure he played more than that so I guess he would be entitled to one. 15 appearances, 13 in the league yielding 3 goals, 2 in the cup and 1 in the league according to Soccerbase.

Don't imagine a single Football Club in the UK arranges supporters buses to games, bar the odd one off special occasion. That is what Supporters Clubs are essentially for I would argue. It is advertised but I dont believe it is as well advertised as it could be. Again, we are happy to display any information the supporters club send us about this service or any other events (which Kath normally posts herself in the forum). Had a wee look for where it is advertised and can't find anything on this site bar travel directions to TCS. I don't buy a match programme and don't recall seeing posts on here regarding it, which to me would be the logical place on the only ICT fans site. Not a criticism of CTO in any way as it is up to the bus organisers (Supporters Club) to promote it. A simple sticky post every time a bus is running is surely not a big ask from them. It would possibly get more people to join the Supporters Club if the service was more widely known about with knock on effects for attendance at fund raising events if it wasn't the same members being aware of events every time?

I went on the bus years ago in Division 3 and 2 days. Moving away from the area, etc. meant I no longer used it after that. Was a great service then, even with the Perth stops which just became part of the journey. Think that was probably before the ban on alcohol on buses as there certainly were a few beers sunk on the bus then, particularly when the 'cage' buses were running (small downstairs area at the rear of the bus)!! It's a great service for those who use it and I can't imagine it'll cease to exist as there was a bus before this Cath lady ran it and I'm sure there will be one after it. I don't mean that to sound like I'm belittling her efforts, I simply don't know her! Having said that, JDM makes a good point about it being poorly advertised. I couldn't find out how to get in touch about it for the Morton game either and ended up making alternative arrangements before the late minibus was arranged. A simple forum post or even a match programme advert would be something for the next organiser to consider.

I think County will dominate the local news for the next wee while after yesterday. Which suits me just fine as it takes the spotlight and the subsequent media pressure off of us and lets us get on with winning this league without extra scrutiny.

I think our result, but only just. Simply because it was the first and put Highland, and more importantly Inverness, football on the map. Take nothing away from County today, couldn't see the game as I was at work but by all accounts they deserved it. Absolutely delighted a team from the Highlands has reached the Final for the first time, pretty gutted it wasn't us though as we have certainly had the opportunities in the past. I definitely won't be going to Hampden to support them but I'll probably watch it on the TV and if they win it fair play to them. It won't bother me too much, as long as we win the league and get back to the SPL. County's cup run has kinda put their place in Scottish football in perspective for me, they are still very much the wee club from the North and seem to enjoy playing up to that Community club/small time team coverage which the media are falling over themselves to give them. Very reminiscent of ourselves after the first Celtic result although ICT are well past that stage by a good few years now.

As it stands 69 points will win us the league. That's the absolute maximum County and Dundee can reach. Having a cushion of 16 goals on Dundee and 25 on County may well prove to make the difference and if Morton take anything from County and Dundee this week we could effectively be Champions next Saturday as a draw for either would mean they could reach 67 and if we beat Dunfermline we'll be on to 67. Basically, the games this Tuesday (Morton - County) and next Saturday (Morton - Dundee) make what is happening in Greenock almost as important as what is happening in Inverness. As Sir Awex says, squeaky bum time...

Don't have any problem with Ryanair personally, use them and EasyJet pretty much as first port of calls when booking flights. You pay for what you get, sure Ryanair can be a bit cute about prices/charges etc. but they are still considerably cheaper than most other operators. I've flown Ryanair loads of times dotting around Europe for Scotland games and never had a problem. Same with Easyjet. Only time I've ever been subjected to overbooking was with BA on a return from JFK to Heathrow and I was left with a $200 hotel bill which I never managed to reclaim from them... que sera. To me flying is just the quickest means of getting from A to B and the budget airlines do that for a great price and without the outdated exclusivity pretensions you find from some of the other carriers. Cattle class is still cattle class whatever the airline!

I've only recently moved back to Inverness (6 months or so ago) after being away for about 9 years and the changes I see are massive. Most of them have been covered elsewhere so won't bore anyone with my interpretation, but I really believe that until Inverness gains a credible University and begins to address the 'brain drain' from the area to Aberdeen, Glasgow, Edinburgh, etc. the decline will continue. The 2 main things lacking in Inverness, for me anyway, are a decent social scene for 18-30 that doesn't involve being surrounded by blind drunk neds in the centre and also the distinct lack of graduate/middle level employment in the area. I think until a University is established (UHI has a very long way to go before it can be classed as such, IMO) and hopefully brings with it increased economic benefits and enhanced career opportunities as a result, it is going to be very hard for Inverness to avoid simply becoming a satellite town to the central belt.

If I remember correctly his debut was in the Scottish Cup v. Livi in 1999? Along with a couple of other young players of the time, possibly David Hinds and Andrew Allan?!

The ICT support has always been pretty reserved at home, don't remember it ever being particularly raucous or intimidating apart from odd occasions, the 4th goal today being a prime example. It's a kinda old argument though, it's just the way the Highland support is.

Absolutely brilliant display of determination, commitment and character - for the last 15 mins or so! I thought we took Raith too lightly today, maybe a combination of fatigue from amount of games or maybe the attitude wasn't right. We lost the early goal which woke us up and after getting to 3-1 stepped right back off the gas which let Raith back into the game. Hopefully the players and management realise now this league is far from won and the attitude has to be spot on every game. Having said that, the euphoria around the stadium and from the players and the bench after Richies 94th minute overhead kick winner was absolutely brilliant and just proves we have got what it takes to win this league!

Still a very long way to go. The attitude wasn't right today at all, whether it was tiredness after a heavy run of games or a belief that all we needed to do was turn up and we would win, we were far too relaxed at the start and rightly fell behind. The response to the wake up call was to get ourselves in front before half time and when it hit 3-1 we stepped right off the gas which allowed Raith back in. Cue a frantic scramble and a 94th minute overhead kick winner that Roy Race would have been proud of! The commitment and character to grab the winner was fantastic and gives me hope for the final push. Hopefully the first half of today reinforced the fact that we need to be up for every game.

100% agreed. It's in our hands and we are playing well but there is still plenty of games to go and nothing has been won yet.

Just 2 pumped up guys who wanted to win last night. Was probably forgotten about by the time the next ball came within 20 feet of them. Definitely not an issue! More a positive!
