  1. Went whole hog today:- Cleaned out every cookie in the computer plus all temp files. Used crap cleaners to do this plus deleted all history and other browsing cookies, etc. Ran anti-virus software plus spyware. Cleaned out the registry with several different registry cleaners . Then Logged-in to this site and tried again to open up "Gallery". The result has not changed ...got the "joomla....script text message and nothing more. Then I tried to open up all three match pictures displayed on the front page (the one that comes up immediately after looging in) and got nothing but the same "jooml;a" text message. The funny thing is that the first time I tried to open the first picture it opened fine but thereafter it did not open correctly The time of these accesses was about three minutes ago or 6.22 a.m. or in the U.K. 9.22 :029: a.m. I am really stumped Scotty / Don. If it is my computer what can it be? If not is it something in the site. Hoping to resolve this Thanks S.P. :029:
  2. Mr Brewster is trying anyway; and he could make a difference eventually. Right at this point in time though I remain unconvinced that he will make a top-class Manager in the short term. :022:
  3. In one of the matches today one of the teams got a penalty today and the taker blew it yards over the bar! Is it that hard to keep the ball low? Just seems much easier to keep it down and under control...? :014:
  4. SP tries to keep a calm sough (Charles--did I spell that richt?) and a twinkle in his periwinkle at most times but booing Rory really gets my goat and it is quite pathetic. I'll bet he always shows up at training on time, works hard and tries his best . And since he is a very tall young man I am sure it is not easy for him to get into a very speedy momentum at the drop of a hat. If this misguided lot of probably young so-called fans want to boo anyone then target the Manager who selects him with emails instead and express your opinion that way but get some sense and let Rory develop at his own pace. What a no-brainer..pshaw! :029:
  5. "Marius put in a power of work today"..well that is nice to hear I must say and a blessed change from some of the sniping that has been directed at his performances of late. If he is working his butt off what more can you expect from a player?--so he hasn't scored a lot but he IS making a significant contribution. You know something, if Marius agreed suddenly out of the blue to reduce his overall pay to that of the other players I think the carpers would shut up overnight. But he is there regardless of all the girny negative chit chat and he is going to stay there so I suggest we accept the siuation & start to say really positive things about him and the team as a whole from now on. If not this season could be a roller coaster and ultimately very depessing. And don't you think that it is about time that we had a bit of luck and ICT got a few breaks for a change? So savour this match, possibly, as just that --a bit of a break with quite a few positives in it. :021:
  6. With fans like that who needs enemies....eh? :33:
  7. Scotty I did exactly as you said. I usually remain logged in but after I logged out from the Main site I then again logged in by using the user name/password combo from the boxes on the main site. Then immediately I clicked on gallery with the same result as formerly. The text is all I get and this is exactly as I have typed it in my first post (above) -the joomla thing. Hope you can trace what is wrong? Thanks Gents. :016:
  8. Brewster appears to favour what someone referred-to as 'hard craft" presumably meaning a "hard grafter". So does that then mean that Brewster wants to see players running themselves ragged rather than being slick and playing pretty, classy, football.? Ross County have sacked an apparently very experienced , and successful, coach in **** Campbell because his footy was not sufficiently classy for the standards that Management thought was up to that expected of Ross County and Mr C replies by saying that if Ross County think that they are going places at the level they are playing at with the complement of players that they have at present without playing stuffy defensive football, then they are more or less living in dream land. Ergo, so what is CB up to? Our defence is suspect and badly needs shoring up and the talent in midfield and at forward is not doing the business (i.e scoring goals). And if he is selling Rankin to get money back to splash on a better defender then why is he spending money on bringing in his former buddy as fitness coach--I thought he was controlling the fitness regimes of the players himself as formerly? Is that not one of the reasons Management at ICT brought him in, pray? So do we now have one or two too many Indians (midfield) and also maybe too many chiefs? I am mystified ... And now my smileys won't work grrrr! Comment?
  9. Since the Logout box is showing I know I must be logged in. Yet when I click on "gallery" the site that comes up only states: problem with groups check joomla.inc.php script. the same thing shows when I try entering Rogues Gallery on the Google site search. ? By the way where is the link on the home page these days to access the Rogues Gallery? What is happening and why does the Gallery photos not show instead? Thank you S.P.
  10. Rankin could be short for RankBajin. RankBajin was a Wild West comic strip character with a shaggy hairstyle like a lion. The comic strip appeared either in the Beano, the Dandy, the Boys Own or the local rag and was eagerly sought-after by me in my early teens. In my late teens I played it cool playing down the eager bit, but took many a surreptitious look to ensure that he was still around. His sidekick was Shuggy who was a wizened grizzled veteran of many adventures, smoked a long Indian pipe (I'm embellishing here for effect), carried a Bowie knife in his tatty buckskins and ran a lot after his hoss died of exhaustion and chronic inflammation of his spur scars. Rank also had a wispy moustache and a wrap around beard, a large ragged stetson and a brace of pistols strapped to his withers which he was wont to draw frequently. When the sheriff ordered him to put his hands up he shouted "I won't, I won't" and then either galloped off or shot it out . His horse was wide-eyed and equally scruffy and had feet like an elephant with decimated legs and ran very fast. Tall Cacti and mesas, and lots of sand often featured in the scenario. RankBajin always appeared in black and was, appropriately, evil-looking up to no good all the time and always had an ace up his sleeves when the posse was after him. I hope and pray that some poster on here can confirm my memories of this fella because if not, then I am well and truly over the hill. I am sure that Jock Watt will remember him fondly. But I hope he doesn't shout at me since I am not yet completely deaf and I really do have the need to feel needed and wanted these days. :crazy07: But Rank was never reported to have kicked a ball so maybe he is just a figleaf of my recollection and will simply resemble John in his golden years. :015:
  11. :015: Er--whatever happened to Brian Grant--seems to have been a very good player?
  12. Johnboy--did you know you have a much greater appeal when you are amusing than when you are overly critical and girny? No? Well you do now!! IHE if you get any more amusing we will have to walk down the aisle together arm in arm and when we get to the altar and the ministerial ref asks us what we want we both reply in unison...... Marius please It's O.K. Johnboy maybe that's just a tad too subtle fer yese......eh?
  13. Report as promised :- www.jalipo.com :--- Good video with excellent close-ups. The sound is a bit light but quite adequate. I had four dropped feeds ranging from 30 seconds to 3 minutes each and that irritated me no end since one occurred right when there was an exciting incident in the goalmouth--Fraser had an excellent save but I missed the next few incidents. However, all round , taking into account that this is a Beta programme (I think this means in this case that it is a new service which stilll on trial)I was well pleased with the overall cost to me being about $5 for two hours and I don't think you can beat that. I enjoyed the match but the camera showed a close-up of the Hutton foul at the end of the match just before Italy scored and it was ludicrous to award it to the Italian. Maybe a stot-up would have been fair but NEVER decision in f/o the Italian team. :33:
  14. Reddy aye reddy, Sophia. I think I would make a good Santa without a uniform ....eh? Tell me your age and I will reveal all.. :016:
  15. Agreed--should be dealt with harshly That link leads you to UTube where you will see adjacent to it another (or 7) about the Polish man who was Tasered to death at Vancouver Airport a couple of days ago. He had come to Vancouver to live with his mother, did not speak English, was put in a security area alone as far as we can see for 8-10 hours, became disturbed, excited, fearful, angry, lost it ,threw chairs and the cops came in to get him with a plan already agreed to taser him. They hit him once with 50,000 volts , he writhed screamed and started to fall, hit him again with another 50,000 volts, he fell to the ground as they hit him again and he again writhed on the floor until some nutter cop knelt on his neck. The news today is that maybe that was what killed him. One of the most disgusting police situations I have ever seen. It's the talk of the town, none of it in favour of the police. The furore is all over the Canadian Media, heads will roll and we are all lucky that Mr Pritchard had taken a video which he managed to get back from the police who tried to refuse to return it etec. Sorry ,Scotty, off topic but the link was there and this has to be seen to be believed. Personally speaking my wife and I think it was premeditated manslaughter and no one can believe tyhat Vancouver RCMP could be so utterly inept and stupid. :008:
  16. :rotflmao: I know the feeling --same here. Stomach in knots LOL :002:
  17. www.jalipo.com is showing the video live for this match on Saturday 24 November for anyone who is an overseas rabid fan of either team. They have advised me that they do not currently show SPL matches but have not ruled out the possibility that they will in the future. You buy credits for a small payment, no software to download, easy access. You do need broadband, the faster the better. Acess is 10 minutes prior to kick off. Check out the website for further details. Cheers] S.P. :022:
  18. My spys have told me what they think your link is, Maimie--if it is the one L-F it is very dodgy indeed.--they link you to numerous other sites who are supposed to allow you to run the videos. But a year ago I could not find one single site which actually did! I am sticking with www.jalipo.com--kinda classy looking site, good video, thorough Q & A sets, modestly priced @ $3 per hour for 1000kbs high bandwidth and easy to access but you do need Broadband. And you do not have to download anything--just ensure you have enough credits to cover , say, 2 hours then press click and you are off. A further report to follow after the gemme. Thanks to all--I have noted down these lionks and will follow up later. 6 p.m. here in Western Canada--only 15 hours to go and my stomach is already tightening with excitement LOL. I keep the knee tremblers for other sporting activities though.. :016:
  19. TLN is The Latino Network I think--serie A Italian soccer in Italian but the website is in English. Setanta is not showing the Scotland V Italy match. But they are showing the Norway v Turkey match--believe it. TSN is not showing this match.( The Canadian Sports Network) who are showing Nascar racing all day apparently. The digital channels available here are not supplied by Shaw Cable which is the principal distributor of TV etc in Vancouver unless you pay a lot extra. Setanta Sports can be supplied by Shaw cable as an extra provided I sign up @ $15 per month and pay $55 to buy the box. Probably the same in Toronto ...eh? So, moving on, link by link, I have found www.jalipo.com which is video in different bandwidths from 250kb (poorish) up to 1,000kb (good) and you buy credits in $5 for 1 hour. The higher the bandwidth the more money you pay but NOT excessively... well worth it.This looks like a good deal .I have run the preview and it seems to be as good as I have seen in the past.No Stuttering, stops etc. I am going for it Scotty and i HAVE SENT YOU THE LINK BY EMAIL. Thank you very much for your input. To other overseas posters :-- this service is NOT available in U.K., Ireland, China,Puerto Rica and the U.S. A.. Maybe Setanta has sewn all the rights up or something.
  20. Clacher--there are certain things that are against you and some for you in your desire to move. I moved here to Canada well over 30 years ago but my choice was to some extent made for me because the promotion that I thought I deserved and had worked for was not be given for another year and I felt that was unreasonable so I decided to take the chance. Of course I did have a job to go to but what I did not expect was that few people wanted to help me along the way in my employment--that is by no means an unusual attitude since you represent a threat to other employees in your organisation and they just don't want to spend time training or helping you when you might be smarter than they are etc. Most immigrants who stay in Canada therefore have a quite challenging time of it in the first two years but when they find their feet and adapt then their natural abilities and character take over and you are more willing thereafter to expand your wings and try anything. In the USA I think that the people may be somewhat more open in their approach than the average Canadian. American businessmen are more willing to take a risk whereas the average Canadian business person is more cautious. Canada Bob obviously makes many good points and if I had to make a choice again between the 2 countries I would choose Canada. The medical services in the USA cost a literal fortune; my son had a 7-hour heart stent operation here five years ago which the surgeon told him would have cost $500,000 in the States and it was all free!! Cars in the U.S. are considerably cheaper than in Canada and with the housing market collapse in the States due to the sub-prime mortgage scandal , meaning that thousands of houses are now on the market at rock-bottom prices when the owners had to walk away, you can pick up a beautiful home for a great price. In Canada the further West you go the higher the price with Vancouver having the highest prices in Canada--average 3 bedroom house now costs $500,000 which is still higher than a similar house in the U.K. is it not? Canada is currently giving preference to Immigrants who have good professional qualifications but if you do not have a job to go to , or a place to stay, I think that your chances of being accepted are minimal-- UNLESS you state that you want to go to Alberta, where the economy is so overheated due to the oil patch successes and the new tar-sands projects coming onstream with stupefying future wealth in prospect, that you could step off the plane and walk straight into a menial job paying high wages. This Province is crying out for any employee that can lift a tray of tea and scones or a shovel or knows anything about computers which I assume that you do. Then you may be able to secure a fast-tracked immigration application to Calgary of Edmonton. For the States without a GREEN CARD you cannot work there. Florida has nice weather but little industry whereas Seattle is close to Microsoft, Boeing ,etc and has been acclaimed as the most desirable city to live-in in the States for these reasons (jobs) and the fact that they are on the West Coast with the Pacific at hand, fantastic outdoor activities, hiking, skiing, boating, etc. etc. and a lot of culture. They are also vying for a new soccer Franchise in the MLS (Major League Soccer) Seattle is a city who communicate well with Vancouver which is situated about 100 miles North of them just over the border (the 49th paralllel)in Canada. Both cities are very busy sea ports with Vancouver now the busiest port in Canada. The bottom line here Clacher is what you really want deep down. You appear to be restless and are looking for adventure, new challenges and a wider spectrum of experiences. If you have never skiied downhill on the myriad slopes adjoining Vancouver and Seattle you have not lived--wonderful snow and breathtaking views all around you--it's worth a try isn't it? Nothing ventured nothing gained . But you do need ambition, a determinatrion to succeed at something and a willingness to fall down and be able to get up and go again .Canada Bob referred to this and he is not alone in the fall -down department. I tried to work another business and ended up losing my house and car but just kept on going and recovered financially. These things taken as a given, this is a land of opportunity where money or the lack of it is the only limiting factor. Your social stratification is largely determined by your finances not your birth certificate or lineage. And Canada is a very multi-cultural country where you can do anything you like. If you want to discuss it further please email me and I can telephone the U.K. for 5 cents a minute so it won't cost a thing for you to ask further questions. LOL If you know in your heart that you want to try this then just go for it. At your age what do you have to lose...eh? There is a big challenging world out there. Am I glad I came here to Canada?--YES I am. You can always go back but at least you will have the comfort of knowing that you were one of those who tried. And I can tell you that it is very likely that you will not return to Britain because you will find that the experience and experiences will have changed you making you more resilient, more confident and knowing of your own abilities, and with a brighter future ahead of you too. Send me an email Clacher if you want to communicate privately. Meantime, all the best, Scarlet. :022:
  21. IHE--your comments this time are cloaked in mystery--that's why you got the attention of the Pimple Organisation with your veiled references to what you are about to reveal as the main reason for this thread. Of course we know as much as you do but a spy never reveals his sources and...besides... we want you to have the thunder :002: But c'mon, slip us all a few clues and I will not say a word unless you are wrong. Let's see how many ounters can guess the truth....? Over to you dear lad... :cool04: :clapping02:
  22. Yes, folks, Although Hampden Park will be full to the brim and no doubt every T.V. set between Vancouver and Rome will be brimming with goggle-eyed fans we poor overseas punters will be languishing in misery without even an online audio broadcast. Money rules . :008: Looks like I will have to bite the bullet, join the Rangers Supporters Club in Vancouver , rush downtown on a two hour rain-soaked car journey to their favourite Setanta local Pub and stand outside, looking in through the windows at the milling mob inside, trying to catch a glimpse of James McFadden in full flight. Not a chance! I will, telephone every local pub here in town to see if there is one with a TV tuned to this match. However, it is a very long shot. Thinks, maybe not if I try Little Italy on Commercial Drive, Vancouver, or the Italian Cultural Centre- and hope and pray that they have heard of Setanta.-I could slip in with a Caley Thistle blue shirt on and hope that most of the clients are so blotto that they won't notice the logo :003: If not , it's the ICT chat room for me, nothing else for it. Sigh--what are you going to do, all the rest of you expatriates in Canada, U.S. of A., South America, Australia , China, and all points East of here .? :confused01:
  23. Ish NISH ferstein, so I will just tell you that I have been to Mauchline. It was a nice wee place but not really inspiring so I dubbed it maudlin Mauchline. This site is so slow tonight I nearly fell asleep a minute ago. :029:
