  1. Connie--youi must have really scared them. When I was much younger I got suspended for 30 days for having 17 points. I phoned the Drivers' Licence Section in the Capital of British Columbia and asked to speak to the High heid Yin.T my great astonishment he come son the line in person. On he comes and I said very politely, to the point of unctuousity. :016: Sir, my livelihood depends on my licence and I don't have any staff to do my work, could you please go a bit easy on me.. you can see I am not a dangerous driver ....like? He coughed with embarrassment at hearing a grown man sob and gently murmured " how does 15 days sound?" Before the words were out of his mouth I was thanking him profusely in case he changed his mind and we then got on so well that I suggested we have a drink when he next came over on the Ferry to Vancouver.Never herad from him agaoin ...what a nice wee mannie he was . :015: Let me give you all a tip: cops are generally not bad and if you keep your mouth shut or be very nice when you do they often end up looking for an excuse not to give you a ticket such as ..."Er.. I see your city work licence is out of date so I am going to give you a ticket for that instead of for speeding--saves you a $150 fine you know " or the good one when they caught me speeding on the freeway in the HOV lane (High Occupancy Vehicle) ..." Well, sir, you were going a bit fast there weren't you?" "Yes officer , just finished work and anxious to get home to my pipe and slippers by the fire," I reply . Stifling a grin he intones gruffly..." well, I am going to give you a ticket for being in the HOV lane( at 9p.m. at night, dry conditions, not a car in sight for 3 miles either way) with no passengers in your car and I'll forget the speeding ticket--that will save you a lot of money, you realise that...eh?" 'Well, thank you very much officer, that is very nice of you indeed .. blah..blah". No use arguing-that's when they go all cold or throw the book at you. Women can use their charm , men have to use their brains. OMG :029:
  2. If Hibs have been and are after him they must rate him pretty highly. And Mixu is no dummy judging by his silky handling of the BBC commentator in that interview he did just before the Hibs game . Remember that song "smooth operator". I am sure Hibs don't care which club they get a good player from and if their valuation to their club is a certain figure then they are likely to pay it regardless of whether the club is in the top or the bottom half of the SPL. Now, if the lad is in the 3rd Division, however then that is a different story..
  3. Rumour has it that this lad intended to swop a pipe band to California with a High School Girl's Cheerleadingoutfit to Tulloch from there. I saw the cheerleading U.S. finals on T.V. and was completely gobsmacked. In addition to some lovely young lasses in fetching outfits their performance was one of breathtakingly fast and furious acrobatics beautifully synchronised throughout. Now THAT'a show that would draw in the crowds at tulloch for sure. But we don't need this guy to arrange it - Mr Savage can call me anytime. :016: As for Ms Orr, well, Connie there is fine group of firemen on a Calendar here --maybe if ya grease ma haun wi siller I can do something to lighten life's little burden for you. Hmmmmmm.....? :015: The problem with a geezer like this is not the sex which is universally accepted as a perfectly normal activity but the links to criminal elements who have a finger in the pie at all times. :012:
  4. But Scotty, Dear, come to La La Land for excitement. All welcome . :021: I was doing 109.634552 kph over only about 80 yards on a clear bright sunny day on the left outside lane of a three lane highway with all three lanes going the same way.i.e no danger whatsoever, with one car to my right (he got a ticket also ha! ha!), no cars in front and no cars behind--cops 350 yards away hiding in the bushes--my luck for me to get a rookie cop trying to make brownie points with his boss, bored stiff on a Statutory holiday . Happens! :029: The previous two times I got stopped on the freeway were by two older mature cops who gave me a warning in each case. That's 3 stops in 7 years---c'maaaaan ! A fella has to have a wee bittie fun now and then (PSSt --they didn't know I did 145 kph on the freeway in an 80kph zone a week before because they didnae see me :crazy07: I never go to work in the rushhour here for fear of falling asleep at the wheel . Getting home on a Friday afternoon is a nightmare --if you don't get on the freeway by 11.30 a.m you can face doubling the time of your journey home. Answer? :002: I stopped going to work on a Friday . LOL
  5. Relatively tactless comment, whatever. There is many a slip twixt cup and lip. :024: Ve shall see vat ve shall see...... :018:
  6. Such small cars in Inverness......Citroen seems to be a favourite. Nice view of the Caley Park as you get to the end of the Kessock Brig. If the video was for real I estimate his speed using a dynamically-balanced electronic theodolyte with a macro capacitor and a desperately-dangled rubber cup as 150K.p.h oops, sorry 94 Miles per hour. Don't you have any cops with radar guns on that road ha?! Got a speeding ticket 6 months ago - rookie cop stated that I was going 110 kph in a 60kph section, nailed me for excessive speeding -$360 fine--I nearly choked right there in the seat then gave him a piece of my mind. He gave me look and walked away. Spoiled my day. :008: :003:
  7. Tyler Watt came to a sticky end too......anybody remember him or the circumstances that led to it? Does Gunpowder have anything to do with it ..? :002:
  8. JB-- There is nothing at all untoward about that post if that is what you are implying? If you can't appreciate some subtlety let me try to explain: If she likes you, FW likes to call you Petal ; which is organically very nice. :004: Petals, blossoms and items such as your somewhat inappropriate avatar/logo are genetically linked except that the former two are static and don't cause problems whilst the latter item walks with a non-organically-correct limp and if absorbed in sufficient quantities can lead to genetically-challenged fuzzy brain cells which think only in curved straight linear concepts...... Or try Wikipedia for more information...... :cute01:
  9. Commanding presence on the field. Outstanding footballing personality on the park. Good luck, whatever, Craig Brewster. :022:
  10. Watts wrong with him? Not pacy enough for Brew? WATTS didn't get much of a chance to show us that he is a POWERhouse with ELECTRIC pace then? :014: Probably also didn't fit in with ICT's NUCLEAR family ? Eh..? Not even good enough for the SUB station ? :001:
  11. Things sure happen fast in this league. Poor Robbo - I wonder where he is, or will end up? Surprised that John Hughes, what with his passionate nature, experience, Scottish Nationality and green connections was not right up front in the frame. Despite his ingrained accent he definitely has something exceptional to offer a club. Maybe he is too honest and blunt for Rod the Bod.... :029: I like him. I told a Real estate Agent yesterday whom I had just encountered who wanted to get the listing for the sale of my business "You are blunt, aggressive, self-opinionated and domineering---I like you ! I'll think about it and I will look at your web site listings.... " Moving right along, eh IHE? :003:
  12. Isn't it always the case that a player must be in his "best" position to allow for his talent to blossom? And if he is blossoming then C. Brewster must take a lot of credit for that-- Footballer's Wife--fair is fair, isn't it petal ? He was untried in SPL football when we paid a speculative 65 thousand punds for him. Surely he is worth close to double that now in view of his progress, greater confidence and so on. It's a no-brainer. :011: Besides we do appear to have several replacements at hand--some of whom deserve the chance. In the current circumstances ICT should sell him if he is unhappy and if they can get anything like his real value. Out with the old , in with the new .....like. :003:
  13. Maybe he is looking for a testimonial/benefit match before he plunges in full time into the deep dark pool of management with all its pitfalls. :029:
  14. If Gretna's owner , forget his name--senior moment upon me :003:--can regain his full health maybe he should amalgamate Gretna into ICT? Better bet for him , poor for the Gretna fans though. ugh!
  15. I knew that :crazy07: What also has surprised me is the number of posts some folks have made since the changeover which seems to be phenomenal. Don't they work? :003:
  16. Jimmy Calderwood had better be right on the money as to his value to Aberdeen or any other Scottish Club.If he resigns does that mean he has another better club just waiting for him to sign up? Where? I think that he should sit tight for at least another season and show that he can assist Management with the control of expenses and still get a more than reasonable performance out of the remaining players at Pittodrie next season. He seems to have stuffy team there but apart, perhaps, from the EUFA win his other results have really only been for the most part grinders. Maybe he should show his Management that he can make the very best out of his players instead of trying to force the bosses to buy him success. However, if that happened then I think he would jump on the success palaver and move onwards and upwards leaving his boisses in his wake.
  17. I noticed some time back the huge disparty of the number of posts between different posters. Am I correct in thinking that when you converted to the new site you eliminated all postings made by regular users prior to the date of the changeover. If so why did you not allow all these numbers for each individual poster to contine to be shown and accumulate? Would it not have more truly represented the activity of posters who have been on here for several years? :014:
  18. Aggressive stance by the Management ---compliments all round, must encourage the kids. :022:
  19. RANKIN-40,000 LBS---RIDICULOUS. He will really have to lose some weight. The Squirrel--some good banter at first but eventually very tiresome. Always whining about something. Sometimes you felt if he ever tried to crack a joke it would turn into a yoke and be all yellow and runny like his drivel. Eh IHE? :004: IHE had him on toast most of the time and he turned out to be right about him. Got real huffy when not all the punters on here agreed with him; but the Squirrell did lead us all a merry dance for quite a long time. Excellent piece of detective work , however, --all the resources at the Hall were ultimately involved in unmasking this dastardly furry-tailed mosquito. IHE is still paying off our fee for clandestine information supplied. Much of it was free gratis since we did not want him to have a stroke before he got to his 29th birthday--succeeded in that. :015: Sophia--I told you she is very good at getting out of a tricky situation. I salute you , no sophistry about you, nahhhhhh .. :crazy07:
  20. As a young teenager I could hear the baying across the Howden's Nursery when a goal was scored and I knew instinctively when Caley had scored because there was always a mighty shout that seemed to reverberate like a firework going off across the rose bushes. About this time I would listen agog to the Internationals with England and Austria at Hampden on the radio and I started to get the feeling that this patriot stuff was quite a thrill. Then the Caley stand was burnt down and that peaked my interest. Shortly after I started going to Telford Street Park with my next door neigbour and once I ended up in the stand with him and thought that was the absolute bees knees which further instilled in me the growing feeling that being around Caley was great. Moved on to England and once visited Wolverhamptom Wanderers when I was in the RAF nearby--not a memmorable game but the atmosphere felt good to me. Although I subsequently stayed in London for a year I don't think I ever went to a game. This was followed by another move to Leven and Methil for work and I started to follow East Fife where I saw some real rollicking games and all this did my interest in football no harm at all. A promotioon to Edinburgh and I moved in to a house on East Restalrig Terrace in Leith which was just down the road from Easter Road and the Hibs. This was a different class of footie and I followed Hibs religiously for 6 enjoyable years. I remember they slaughtered Kaiserslautern 4 -O one evening and Turnbull (I think ) hit an absolute 40 yard humdinger that had the goalie absolutely rooted to the spot. What a shot and a goal! I will never forget that one. Subsequently another move to Blantyre in Lanarkshire enabled me to go and see a Rangers versus Celtic match at Ibrox which was poor and that did nothing to cement any possible affinity to any of the Old Firm teams. My mnove to Canada came shortly afterwards and the only game in town around that time and for the next few years was the Vancouver Whitecaps who were sweepinmg all before them in the North American Lweeague . But inevitably they went downhiull and the new Whitecaps neither had the location, the money nor the players to make it worth my while travelling half way across the city to Swangard Staium in Burnaby to watch them regularly. About 4 years ago I stumbled across this site since I always had that lingering "I wonder what Caley are doing now" feeling and I found them here on the net. An article that mantis had written took my eye and I contacted him for more information about what was going on in Inverness. Then he told me about the merger and so on and I was stunned. The rest is history ....so you have him entirely to blame for the Scarlet Pimple being foisted on you all. But thanks, Mantis, you have increased the enjoyment of my life no end my friend. :002: :sillywave: Cheers from canada.
  21. Apparently turned down 35,000 pounds A WEEK? Incredible! :019:
  22. Och, IHE , now I have got the :009: humph!
  23. Talking about "skinning backs" down the wing and "pace" I remember the day when fans on here were lambasting Niculae for the lack of both attributes which at the time surprised me since I had just finished looking at a clip of him doing both on the left wing and getting a very neat cross in from the byeline immediately afterwards. And there was nothing too slow about him then. :024:
