Late starts are by no means unusual. The customary explanation from Martin at the BBC, who I think is the same lad who produces Jim Taylor's show, is that they have to check out all the broadcasts before kick off to ensure they are all working..... I mean, like it's the first time they have broadcast the matches.......

Jimmie..."Aye"
Martin "Hey Jimmie can you hear me"?
Jimmie "aye".
Martin "O.K. You are O.K. then" How's the missus then Jimmie?
Jimmie.."Fine" How's your bairn Tam after his op?"
Martin "Fine, Like he still has to go back on Tuesday to see the Specialist about a boil on his knee ; came up after a bee stung him in the loo"
Jimmie.." Aye , that can happen. Not good, eh?"

In fact they must have had a few emails about various issues because they have put a link on the BBC Sportsound site to a FAQ site begging listeners to check out the answers before sending in emails.
