Whoever we pick, once again the club will have a stack of Resume's to wade through I am sure. Does anyone honestly think T B would have the brass neck to apply/ After the choice is made we can get back to work and training and Resume operations.

As for the costs that may be borne by ICT in case of a suit for breach of contract then they can just add them on to the claim.

If he decides to simply stay without further ado then all he has to do is have another season like the last one, continue the building process and, when the time is ripe at the termination of his current agreement, consider his options very carefully. Currently that's a challenge for him which he may want to accept or not. As for the latter decision maybe at this time he may be thinking : "The river, if taken at the flood, can lead on to greatness." So staying is not on his immediate agenda any more. Personally speaking I think he needs another season or two at ICT to prove that he is "GREAT" because the circumstances that he has to handle this season at Caley Thistle will make or break him? After all, one swallow doesn't make a summer. IHE's words, above, are worth thinking about because if J.H. can't make up his mind quite soon as to whether he wants to leave or stay, this could easily undermine subsequent results and his desire to be successful; not to mention the fortunes of ICT . Something that I feel sure is the subject of discussion at Board level. Assuming he continues to be successful then at the end of the season his negotiating position will have strengthened by unimpeachable results and I doubt if anyone would think that his wanting to leave and take up a better Managership elsewhere would be unreasonable. At that time the Board may also be happy to renew his contract on beneficial terms to allow him another season to prove he still has the magic touch.

Just resigning can hardly be the answer for Mr Hughes because in a lawsuit against him by the club, on grounds of breach of contract, the club would /could cite the fact that by doing so he immeasurably hurt the financial stability of ICT. This is, of course, on the assumption that he had not made an offer of compensation to the club which, in the ordinary course of business, could be readily viewed as a fair one and/or no prior warning of his impending resignation was given to show that adequate "Cause' for the resignation existed. In short, desertion on flimsy grounds merely to enrich the person who is initiating this, which may be at the expense of the other party to the contract, does not constitute a valid argument in favour of the deserter. To assume otherwise would make the signing of contracts impracticable and a useless event offering no adequate and fair protection to either party. Because that would also mean that ICT could, equally, dump the manager or player with no prior warning and without adequate compensation being offered calculated by reference to, and in accordance with, a formula already in place to cover such an eventuality. Which is the whole purpose of each party's signing of the contract between them in the first place isn't it?

Pretty advanced and stable guy for a young'un though. Wait 'ill he gets over 70 and he realises that time's about up----grrrrrrr. And he can hardly see to post and he's renowned for saying "eh?" a lot every time someone speaks to him. Mind you that may be natural to him since by then he may have also seen the light and emigrated to Canada. Agree-eh?

Any thread is valuable since it keeps us all on our toes and me from falling asleep. Also, everybody surely has the right to his/her opinion and the right to express it. Like--one man's meat is another man's poison. Some are passionate and Charlie is frequently controversial so he must be relishing the exchanges. Frank Kelly speaking, me? Tbh, I am quite enjoying it and I think JH will stay at Tulloch with a bit of a raise. I do not think the Board will give in to any kind of threat and will decide what is right for the club. But not necessarily based on the ambitions of a good man thinking mostly about his own future. And all this it may have drawn the chairman out into the open so that he keeps us all updated.

DD --you are awful and you are a wag.

Surely not-- unless ICT receive a generous payment in exchange for the transfer of his services to D.U. If J H has one more year to run on his existing contract, then the club are in the driving seat because both he and the club must honour the terms of that Agreement unless the Board decide to release him from the existing contract and allow him to go unhindered and unfettered. Or, of course, there is a clause in the existing contract which allows him an out based on certain criteria that both meet. As far as I can deduce, then, without reviewing the document that's the end of story.

Couldn't agree more. A hard working, non-complaining and modest man (but) under appreciated at International level. I hope he cements his place in the Scotland team and the very best of luck in his future career. I sincerely hope that nerves don't get the better of him in his first game to dilute his vigour and performance. Other teams would now have loved tohave signed him but have been a tad short in praise up to now. It's all about who you play for not the actual skill level of any player. PSHAW! to that baloney. Kudos to Strachan for advancing his recognition.

There's a lot of reading here but interesting transfers . So Antonio Reguero is now at Hibs? They must see a lot of potential in him?

In Canada we used to have quite a good postal service with home delivery and you could send a letter to Britain which would arrive within 3 days. GPS then meant good postal service . Then the Feds sold the postal services to a German firm Deutsches Post and now the name has changed again. In both cases with profit now being the main goal of the people who took it over:- Delivery is not timeous, we don't have home delivery but general mailboxes and a calendar sent to Inverness will be delivered within 10 days for $49 (say 25 pounds) or for $10 (5 pounds) it will take up to ten weeks. So GPS now means Generally Putrid Sinkhole or Ghastly Poor service.

That world cup ruggah is top class. Saw Argentina versus Georgia-- and what power and fitness that Argos team have. Very absorbing sport at this level. "OOH, Touchy, Girls!" -- That's an interesting quote Manfer . But it can also be a two-edged sword. Agreed?

Thoughtful post there Buckett!

There you go. Amazing what a lot of research and a bit of effort will achieve. But the lottery is brining in loads and loads of money because the odds are much better of winning etc. so ICT should take a look at it i'faith. Maybe we should contact that club and offer sisterhood as well. North American soccer is on the up and ...well, why not?

And a bit tidier to boot.

Exactly, Scotty. It would take him time to re-jig and build up any team in the SPL right now. Partick and St. Johnstone came back to winning ways and it's quite a turbulent scene IMHO. John will almost certainly stay where there is stability of a sort and a good Board Chairman and build on his past success.

IHE We use canoes in the Wild West not lovely wee vessels like that one. Looks a little like the East Coast Fishing boats who risk life and limb every day going out looking for huge crab, or herring or sardines. But they are , well, a lot larger . That wee brown vessel wouldn't get much further than Drumnadrochit I don't think with 100,000 lbs of herring on board. Lovely picture though. Keep 'em coming John, your a lovely big man, so you are.

This article online about the lottery business in the town of Inverness, Nova Scotia, (East Coast of Canada) caught my eye. If the club were to adopt the same idea it might also burgeon out of control bringing a bonanza of cash into the club and allowing the ticket buyers a much higher possibility of winning a fortune than the standard lottery jackpot draws currently offer.here's the link :http://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/canada/chase-the-ace-odds-in-inverness-10-times-better-than-regular-lottery/ar-AAf2sJ3?ocid=AARDHP At the bottom left of this article there is a link to the Supreme Court situation in Brutish Columbia where the native Indians are fighting the Canadian Powers That Be who want to force oil pipelines across pristine territory to the West Coast without full regard to the consequences if an oil pipeline breaks or what happens if a tanker has a spill of oil in the harbour. It's also an eye-of a read which also touches upon the past history and attempts of Government to bypass former Indian demands and their broken promises.
