John Sutton would be a fantastic signing for us but are we not done in terms of getting players in?

I think Butcher and Malpas had a lot of youngsters at Motherwell when they were in charge there. Seeemd to do all right for them. Hopefully the same will be true for ICT.

ICT -V- Kilmarnock : Matchday Thread
Unfortunately didn't make it through but delighted to see ICT win at long last. Even more delighted to see Graeme Shinnie get the winner. He's been excellent since coming into the team over the last couple of weeks and getting such a vital goal for the team is reward for his recent endeavors. Shame about Doran getting injured. Have we ever had so many folk out injured!?

Here's a mad idea - maybe Scottish teams aren't as good as some folk make out?

Last nights debacle
The cup defeat to Queens Park was a worse result than last night.

Shinnie was excellent that day. I think I went for Foran and Morrison in that order too but would need to check. I've been very impressed with Shinnie since he came into the team for Gillet. He was solid in the tackle on Saturday and supported the midfield well when breaking. Foran put in a shift although he had a couple of criminal misses which would, on another day, have grabbed us at least a point. But he did very well and never seemed to tire. When Golobart ballsed up Foran was over there to try and lift him. Just what you want from your captain!

who would you want to win?
I honestly couldn't care what County do to be honest. I wouldn't neccessarily support them but I wouldn't cheer on another team simply because they were playing RC. Indeed I was deligthed when they beat Celtic in that Semi Final game the other year. I hope we get a Derby in the SPL personally. That said Derek Adams is a bit of a welt.

Tom Aldred has left the building
That's an odd one and a disappointment as well. I thought he looked decent in the couple of games I saw. Maybe a bit harsh to say after one game but I thought he looked better than Golobart. To be honest I would actually have Hogg and Aldred as my preferred CB pairing. Hope things work out for him elsewhere.

Aberdeen -V- ICT : matchday thread
Another very poor first half performance coupled with lack of finishing cost us any chance of salvaging anything from that game. We were very shoddy in the first half with many misplaced passes and important players like Hayes not getting into the game. Foran was very isolated up front until later on in the game and we weren't helped by another diabolical referring error. Aberdeen started much the better of the two teams knocking the ball about well and getting in behind our static defence. Vernon had a cracking chance early in the game but he headed over from inside the six yard box. We were struggling to contain Magennis and I was delighted when he went off later in the game. Hogg and Golobart couldn't handle his strength and pace and it was from his powerful run that Aberdeen took the lead. He just barged through the defence and set up Milson who had a simple finish. I missed their second as I was looking at my phone but when I looked up I saw Golobart on the floor and Vernon was heading for goal. He easily beat Esson and Aberdeen were two goals up without barely breaking a sweat. Aberdeen lashed another effort past Essons post into the side netting as they started to dominate. We were nowhere to be seen as most of our passes went astray and we resorted to aimlessly punting the ball forward where Foran received no help from the midfield. Tansey and Morrison were missing and Andrew Shinnie was very poor. Foran did have one excellent run when he was brought down and the ball found it's way to Hayes who shot at goal and found the net when Crawford Allan suddenly decided to pull play back and give us a free kick despite the fact that Hayes had gone on to score. The second half was much better from an ICT point of view. Andrew Shinnie went off early into the second half to be replaced by Doran and ICT started to stretch the Aberdeen defence a bit more as we played with additional width. With Hayes playing in behind Foran we suddenly had someone with pace to race onto Foran's knockdowns and we had some good chances to get a goal back. Foran was one on one with the keeper but took too long to shot and Hayes and Doran also went through on goal as well but both took too long to get shots away and Aberdeen continued to repel ICTs efforts. We did grab a goal back when Foran managed to reach a poorly executed throw in / pass back and beat the keeper to the ball. Gavin Morrison had a cracking effort well held by the Aberdeen goalie as we looked to grab an equaliser. As we did however we left ourselves very exposed at the back and Aberdeen became dangerous on the counter. Sutherland came on and looked threatening for us whilst Megginson, who had come on for Magennis, could have scored but for some reason chose to throw himself in a heap instead of chasing the ball he had knocked past Hogg. Golobart was also getting into trouble when playing the ball out from defence which brought additional pressures on us. By the end both sides were playing without a midfield as the ball went from one end to the other but there were no further goals. A real game of two halves. Aberdeen were well worth their lead at half time but by the end I think they will have been glad to have heard the whistle as we had them under the cosh for most of the second half. ICT however need to start finishing off these chances that we are creating and cut out the errors that are costing us goals. Very easy to say that of course...

Tokely Appeal
What a laughable decision. Nothing else to add really.

Huns penalties
Rangers fans discussing the penalty: http://forum.rangersmedia.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=196793 Don't appear to be the sharpest tools in the shed. By the way, in case anyone asks why I was on a Rangers website one of the Google results for Caley Thistle forum was that thread

NEW INVESTMENT IN ICTFC
Caught the back end of this story on the STV news but all I got was "considering an alternative bid in the next few days" but that was it. Do we have much else to go on?

ICT -V- Rangers : Matchday Thread
What's the point? Until Scottish referees rise above their current level of utter dross we are forever going to have ridiculous decisions given like the ones today. Jelavic 'goal' - The replays on Sky show that Piermayr could be playing Jelavic onside but Edus position blocks us from seeing how far ahead of Edu Jelavic actually is. First handball shout - not a chance. Second handball shout - hmm. Must admit I'd be raging if that happened against us. First penalty - disgusting decision. Tokely clearly wins the ball. A brilliant challenge. The club should appeal and Norris should be locked in the stocks and pelted with rotting vegetables for a month. Second penalty - pfft. If every player who comes together in the box with an opponent falls over like that nonce did then we'll have 20 penalties a game. Never a spot kick. We had so little in the final third again today which was a real disappointment. I hope this McKay knows where the net is because we need a goalscorer pronto. Defence looked a bit better than previous weeks. Shinnie was excellent. Didn't offer much going forward but was solid at the back I felt. I can't really bring myself to type any more. Another despicable officiating display leaves me questioning why we fork out huge sums of money to be let down by these clowns who are simply not up to standard. Aberdeen next week will be a big game. They also have little going forward at the minute so a 0 - 0 draw looks to be a stick on!

Ref for weekend games
Conroy had a stinker in the Partick v Dundee game last Saturday. Shock(!)

I think he was offside but I also think the ball was over the line anyway.

Gregory Tade
Anyone who didn't realise that when we signed him needs their heads examined. He's going to be another Djebi Zadi I fear however I agree with what Chris says in that it will be his powerful running and strength that will win him a lot of plaudits. He won't be a regular goal scorer. A more pacey Graham Bayne perhaps? We may see him end up as some kind of wide forward working the channels.

I assume no one saw Hardies free kick against Raith last season? Criminal to give away a free kick with someone like him on the pitch.

Even if he does it's not like he will score a goal as good as Imries last season.
