Saturdays "Penalty"
It's not YouTube - it's the Sportscene highlights on the BBC website.

IAN BLACK ?
Sorry Alex but given recent edits of both Ross Tokelys and Richie Harts Wikis I will have to laugh at it being credible source of information when it comes to these kinds of things! Even if they do say that you know full well yourself Alex that Keogh seldom played as a striker for us spending the majority of his ICT career in the centre of the park.

I've heard a rumour that all of our ex head coches will be in charge next season. Expect to see Christie, Brewster, Robertson and Paterson all in the dugout next season...

Saturdays "Penalty"
I've just seen the ICT claim for a penalty from yesterdays game expecting it to at least be contentious given that the referee had to discuss the award with his linesman/assistant referee but I was staggered to see just how clear a penalty it was! Even more amazing was the fact that the referee was only a few yards away and had a clear cut view of the incident. For me this yet again exemplifies just how poor Scottish refereeing is these days. Yes people make mistakes but they are typically ones that are difficult to call and not ones like this that are clear cut from the off. I am not 100% certain if the "Whistleblower" site could be used for clearing up such odd incidents like this but I would be interested to hear from Mike Calamity as to why exactly he thought this was a free kick and not a penalty. Managers are called to task on most things so why not referees? Have a look for yourself at the latest in a long line of bizarre decisions from Scottish officials *here*

Who'd be a football manager..?
Which might explain why some players have even less respect for him than before...

They're Top of the League and We're No....
I doubt Barrowman will be at ICT next season.

IAN BLACK ?
CC had his share of bust ups with players when he was manager as well.

Meaningless fixtures : which is worse?
Post Split SPL fixtures. Clubs still charge full price for games that are essentially friendlies. Last year I decided not to bother going to Falkirk v ICT and waste ~ ?40 - ?50 in doing so. Instead I went to see Inverurie Locos play Cove Rangers in a title decider, spent less than a tenner and had a much better time. Even more so when I found out the ICT game had finished 0 - 0 (IIRC). At least with pre season friendlies the entrance price is cheaper and chances are you are going to a different ground for a change (e.g. some of the Highland League grounds or Peterhead for example). Unless there is relegation still to play "for" then the bottom six post split is mind numbingly boring.

They're Top of the League and We're No....
Well done to the Dingwall lads :001: I see that none of their summer signings managed to get a goal today sadly.

GRETNA GAME OFF ?
Rumours are that Wadsworth has popped into Homebase and picked up an extra long garden hose and a sprinkler. I wonder if he will be caught around the Fir Park area tonight?
-
GRETNA GAME OFF ?
Utter shambles. Just close them down. They are on life support and clearly cannot survive until the end of the season. The SPL simply do not want to have to deal with the aftermath and want them off their hands ASAP.

Juanjos Back....................
So would I! and I would love it if he did a Russell Duncan style celebration right in front of Darren Mackie :001: Again you would think but I can't help but feel that Wyness is no longer wanted by ICT hence no desire to sort out his deal. If Juanjo is here for "personal reasons" why is he having trials with ICT and County? I don't understand? Could he not just go for a kickabout down the Bught with the lads?

Dods has been the key loss for us this season. Our defence has been woeful throughout this year and it's something we have talked about on here several times. Before we could grind out a 1 - 0 win or a voctory by the odd goal but while we can score a couple more often than not we are losing 3 or 4. As you say we had forever to get something sorted but it seems a lot of effort went into securing Niculae at the expense of other areas of the team. Hopefully there will be no such repeat this summer. I am not sure about Hamilton to be honest. I think they will be a far better prospect than Gretna and while last season they (Gretna) were sure to go back down, albeit not in the manner they will be do so, I cannot see Hamilton being so feeble and pathetically set up for life in the SPL.

Juanjos Back....................
You'd think wouldn't you? Like I say, after recent episodes at ICT a "fans favourite" returning might be hoped to garner some kind of good publicity for the club - from the point of view of ICT fans anyway. As I have said in this thread it reminds me of the "glorious" return of Keegan at Newcastle.

IAN BLACK ?
Agreed. It's a huge task indeed and something we simply haven't really dealt with over the course of last summer and into this season. You could perhaps argue that you can see what has happened when cetain players weren't replaced effectively. We now find ourselves battling to finish 10th instead of going for this magical "Top 6" spot. Get it wrong next season and we WILL be back in the SFL.
-
Juanjos Back....................
not really. The cynical part of me says this has been done to appease the baying masses.

IAN BLACK ?
I think we lack a lot of creativity now and a certain amount of width. With players like Rankin and Wilson we could easily spread the ball wide. Players like Proctor, McBain and Tokely in the wide areas don't off the same width as all of them cut in a lot. We are normally pretty good at stretching teams but no longer have the personnel to do so sadly. We did do it towards the end of the game on Saturday with some great counter attacks - take note Brewster! Certainly don't blame Brewster (wholly) for not replacing Dods and Dargo. It's not like the last management team didn't know Dods was leaving us and they really should have attacked sooner. I can't help but feel that McGuire is a sticky plaster solution. As you say the summer will be very interesting and I would like to think a number of potential targets have been identified already to replace Rankin, Dods, Dargo, Wilson, Wyness and Hart.
