Perhaps Mr Bannerman or one of the other journalists on here can highlight this story of our fans' great gesture in Romania and indeed our club with the top-up cash. This would be very nice and positive PR in the press.

Ryan Christie
Just curious whether people think the player gets a say in all of this ... Plenty of folk saying sign him up now, or sell him on for a huge fee, or the board should resign if they cant get him to re-sign etc. As far as I know, Ryan does get a say in all of this and we cannot force him to sign up for longer, nor can we force him to accept a transfer (although he likely would given it would be a bigger team and wage). The club will do what they can to keep him for as long as they can, but they will not stand in the way of his progress. The Christie family have been, and I think always will be, very loyal to ICTFC so as and when Ryan goes, and he WILL go (onwards and upwards) I believe everyone will try to make it at a time that benefits everyone, or at least doesn't screw things up for everyone.

Inverness CT -V- Partick Thistle - Report
3 league games, and two Europa League games into the season and it is clear that Caley Thistle are certainly not firing on all cylinders up top ! After 270 league minutes and 180 European ones its a tally of only a single goal from Ryan Christie. This time last year we had amassed a solid 7 points from 3 games scoring 4 times in the process and conceding none. Its going to be a long hard season ...... @ICTRoughi provides the report from this game ..... Inverness shared the points with Partick Thistle which again like last Saturday could have been all three. Caley Thistle added to the squad before the game in the shape of former ICT player Iain Vigurs. Caley Thistle started the game well with a quick surge of attack but like most of the first half it didn’t really mount to much and we unfortunately had no end product in the final third. In the first 15 minutes Mathias Pogba was forced off due to an injury in which they replaced him with Kris Doolan who can be quite a handful up front but Ross Draper and Danny Devine like the St Johnstone game combined for a good defensive pairing. Since Gary Warren and Josh Meekings have been out of the side since their injuries, I have been particularly pleased with the performance that Devine has been giving - very intelligent defending. After Pogba went off, the game seemed to open up and the two teams looked evenly matched. Kris Doolan nearly made it a perfect start for him after found space to drill the ball however Owain Fon Williams was quick to react and pushed past the post. Where I was positioned in the north stand, it looked like an outstanding save. Half Time: 0-0 Caley Thistle again started the half in frantic fashion and then gaining a corner but unfortunately it never mounted to much. The two teams continued to battle in the middle of the park and Dani Lopez nearly got his first goal for the club with a shot outside the box but unfortunately went to the right of the goal. Partick Thistle nearly got the opener when Steven Lawless’s powerful shot forced Owain Fon Williams into another top notch save which bounced off the crossbar. On the hour mark, John Hughes made the substitution of bringing on Iain Vigurs replacing Lewis Horner. After 30 seconds of Vigurs being on the pitch, he received a booking for pretty much annihilating Abdul Osman - good start. Around about 10 minutes later, Inverness got a free kick in dangerous territory. Caley Thistle fans had previously stated that his free kicks will become an asset to the club and they were nearly proven right when his free kick was drilled low and fizzled past the post. For the final 20 minutes of the game Inverness started to bombard Partick Thistle with attack after after attack in which Danny Williams was the starting point of the attack. You would actually be forgiven if you thought that Graeme Shinnie was playing left back tonight because Williams was that good. Unfortunately like the game itself, chances were being wasted. Andrea Mbuyi-Mutombo done really well in the dying minutes of the game to get the past the Thistle defenders but unfortunately Tomas Cerny got the better of him, it just wasn’t going to be our night. Full Time: 0-0 I suppose it will only get better for us unless you have to go to Celtic Park after they themselves dropped points - gulp! Date: 12/08/15 Venue: Caledonian Stadium Attendance: 3141 Referee: Stephen Finnie Inverness CT: 0 Lineup: Fon Williams, Raven, Draper, Devine, Tansey, Horner (Vigurs 64), Williams, Polworth, Christie, Mbuyi-Mutombo, Lopez Subs (not used): Esson, Tremarco, Brown, Sutherland Scorers: none Booked: Tansey (63), Vigurs (66) Sent Off: none Partick Th: 0 Lineup: Cerny, Miller, Welsh, Booth, Osman, Amoo (Wilson 75), Bannigan, Lawless, Frans, Lindsay, Pogba (Doolan 18) Subs (not used): Scully, Seabourne, Stevenson, Hendry, Fraser Scorers: none Booked: Osman (34), Bannigan (48) Sent Off: none

Ian Vigurs
Had to think about my own opinion on this a little before posting ... but in the end, I believe we should be willing to give him a (second) chance ... No need to rake over old ground, its pretty clear that most folk are aware that he 'allegedly' had a bad attitude at work, and a pretty low opinion of the customers who came to his work on a Saturday or when he encountered them outside of work ..... However, time has moved on and so should we. The photos don't bother me, he is showing passion for the club he is playing for at the time, but what would bother me is if his attitude (to club, manager or fans) is stinking this time around and I hope that the club have made it clear to all concerned. If he is a team player and does not bring disharmony to the squad then fair play, he will be judged on his talent on the pitch, and he does have plenty of that .... I look forward to seeing someone post a pic with him in the same pose but a different shirt after the first derby game !!!

Ex-ICT players' news
sounds like we may have had a narrow escape with a player who thinks he may be better than he is. to Cheltenham manager Gary Johnson for this little nugget "He asked if I would wait for the weekend so he could speak to the other club and I said no because it's disrespectful to me and the football club given the situation. So I made his decision easy and said Cheltenham Town Football Club was no longer an option for him"

St Johnstone -V- Inverness CT - Report
Graham Cummins spoiled the party for Inverness right at the end after a 9th minute Ryan Christie goal had looked like securing all three points for Caley Thistle. We hope to have a full match report up later. From BBC Sport: Substitute Graham Cummins salvaged a point for St Johnstone with a last-minute goal against Inverness Caledonian Thistle. Ryan Christie's drilled shot gave the visitors an early lead. Christie came close to adding to Caley Thistle's advantage and Michael O'Halloran had an effort saved for Saints. And, with time running out, Cummins headed in Joe Shaughnessy's delivery to restore parity. A draw gives both sides a first Scottish Premiership point this season. But for Inverness the result may well feel like two points dropped having dominated for much of the match and led for so long. They took the initiative when a mix-up at the back for St Johnstone was picked up by Dani Lopez, who played in Christie. The attacking midfielder cut into the box on the left-hand side and, from 15 yards, fired across goalkeeper Alan Mannus into the net. Christie continued to be the danger man for Inverness and almost doubled their lead. He made a surging run from the right only for the Saints defence to block midway inside the penalty box. O'Halloran found space with some intelligent play and forced a decent save from Owain Fon Williams. Inverness threatened again on the stoke of half-time, Andrea Mutombo flashing across the face of goal with no takers. The visitors started the second half as brightly as the first and had a great chance following a corner from Ross Draper. The ball was headed down by Danny Devine and a scramble ensued before the ball was eventually cleared by the hosts. Christie came close again when he spotted Mannus off his line and tried a shot but the keeper made an excellent one-handed save. Cummins replaced Simon Lappin and his contribution proved crucial for St Johnstone as he connected with Shaughnessy's cross from the right to level the match. Date: 08/08/15 Venue: McDiarmid Park, Perth Attendance: 2959 Referee: Willie Collum St Johnstone: 1 Lineup: Mannus, Shaughnessy, Scobbie, Wright, Easton, Wotherspoon, Davidson, Lappin (Cummins 61), Craig, Sutton (MacLean 60), O'Halloran Subs (not used): Clark, McKay, Caddis, Brown, Kane Scorers: Cummins (90) Booked: none Sent Off: none Inverness CT: 1 Lineup: Fon Williams, Raven, Draper, Devine, Williams, Horner, Polworth, Christie, Tansey, Mbuyi-Mutombo, Lopez (Sutherland 83) Subs (not used): Esson, Wedderburn, Ferguson, Brown Scorers: Christie (9) Booked: Christie (93) Sent Off: none

Yogi says no more money no more players!
Agree with your logic and reasoning but can also argue the opposite point of view .... that is the conundrum .... The first five or six games can define your season so is it better to act swiftly or to wait? After 6 games if we are down the wrong end, not scoring goals and 10 points or more behind the top six it can be really hard mentally to close that gap and we might spend the rest of the season in a dogfight. Alternatively, if we get in the required pieces of the puzzle and start to win and score goals then confidence soars, morale rises and fans and players alike enjoy the ride (like last year) .... finishing a single place higher in the table than we would of without those players could wipe out the outlay in your figures above (based on £70K per place) I am all for prudence and fiscal responsibility and I know our club is well run in that respect after surviving a few scares in the early years ... but if we do indeed have a rainy day fund then perhaps its time to use at least a portion of it .....

Replacement Striker?
No Kaka last night (injured apparently) but it wouldn't have mattered. A(nother) hat-trick from Seba in a 4-1 win that takes his tally up to 16 goals for the season. MLS is better than most people watching from the outside think ... but yes, he is definitely a cut above.
-
Replacement Striker?
You know what, I would love to see him in an ICT shirt but at $7m per year he may be a little beyond us .... he is an excellent player who is lighting up MLS this season. Lampard, Gerrard, Kaka, Drogba, Villa, etc and even TFCs other two DPs Michael Bradley and Jozy Altidore may have the name value, but Seba is electrifying to watch and still in his prime. On track for 20+ goals and 20+ assists (and would be the first player to do so). Works really really hard too as is shown by him also leading the league in shots taken (115) and shots on target too (47)! the complete package. He is the player TFC should have had last year instead of Defoe ! Heading down to the stadium to watch him face off against Orlando FC and Kaka tonight ....

Replacement Striker?
If he remains fit and injury free (a big question mark), ICT could do worse than try to grab Bright Dike (pronounced BeeRight DeeKay) who was just released by TFC yesterday. He's a big Nigerian striker who works his ass off but is out of the picture at TFC having been on loan to San Antonio Scorpions for the last few months as he tries to get back to fitness. He's not, and never has been prolific, but something tells me his play would be suited to the Scottish game. He's not going to get into a lineup with Jozy Altidore, Sebastian Giovinco, Luke Moore and others and TFC want to bring in someone else before the end of the window so his squad place has been freed up ... and his salary? US$64000 or about £800 per week so not ridiculous !
