    Reserves

Flower - I tend to agree and Mee, thanks for the compliment. For the avoidance of all doubt, CaleyThistleOnline.com has had no involvement with the provision or upkeep of the official site of the club since approximately September 2006. Prior to this (from March/April 2006 until September) we did supply them with a temporary portal on our webspace which they used while their new site was under development but they entered 90% of the content directly, with myself and CaleyD adding only the official match reports. When this site was the official site of the club (seasons 2000/01 until end of 2005/06) we found it very difficult to obtain information on the reserves and U19s as no-one wanted to spend the time putting the stuff together and sending it out to us. We ended up getting sporadic emails from the SPL and the club with details of fixtures and results and forwarding them to the likes of Mee, CaleyD and one or two others - reports were only online when supporters created them. As Fiona is now responsible for the club's web content, and is adding reports at the very least, I would suggest that those fans who find this information interesting/valuable email her to let her know that it is something they want to see done in a more in-depth level on the official site and I am sure she will consider it. not really a fixture list [matches tend to change at short notice] - but there are reserves/u19 pages on the official site. RESERVES: http://www.ictfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Matc...,,10447,00.html U19s: http://www.ictfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Matc...,,10447,00.html
  3. Its rumoured that Lorimer's shots (or 'Thunderboots' as he was known to many Leeds fans) travelled (with deadly accuracy) at around 90 m.p.h. :010: :010: ...... By comparison, one of today's greats who is reputed to have fierce shooting power - Roberto Carlos - can manage only 72 m.p.h. :012: :012:
  4. Not exactly a huge secret that it was going to be McLeish. I hope McLeish can be as determined in managing the national team as he was when he was playing for it. I am also happy to see 'the Bear' given a role within the setup. As I have said before, many players that played alongside big Roy both at Celtic and for Scotland have commented on the sheer determination of the man and how "motivational" he could be when roaring the side on from the back. I hope he can do that from the sidelines. ... looking at the three pictures on the bbc site .... would you argue with any of them ?
  5. not legally. fraid its sky sports ticker and bbc text commentary for me Wyness subbed after 2 minutes .... injured I assume ?

  7. Kerbie .... think we had a thread about it on here once ... :015:
  8. you are correct. basically, if I understand things the following applies to each match. The Home team can broadcast commentary live on their own website if they wish as they have the rights to all their games The Away team can broadcast commentary live on their own website if they wish as they have the rights to all their games If either team has a broadcasting contract in place, the BBC can be forced to block their service to listeners outside the UK. The BBC can broadcast live on their website if neither team has a broadcast service operating or does have one but doesnt block transmissions (Hibs for example) This basically means ICT (at home and away) v Hibs, Motherwell, Dunfermline, Falkirk, Dundee Utd & St Mirren are the only games available ... forget it if we are playing Rangers, Celtic, Kilmarnock, Aberdeen or Hearts at Tynecastle

thank god for that .... thought when you said 'emo' you meant this guy
  10. I used to go to Scotland games quite frequently and think some of the best I have seen have been the likes of the following .... Davie Cooper & Kenny Dalglish for their consumate skills, Roy Aitken for his determination and leadership rather than skill, Andy Goram and Jim Leighton who were both great keepers, and the defensive trio of McLeish, Miller and Leighton which was something else. From TV coverage I would have to say it was always good to watch the clips of the likes of Jinky, Bremner, Baxter, Law etc and even some of the more modern era players like Jordan, Souness, Hendry, McAllister If I can pick only one player as my favourite then it would have to go to Kenny Dalglish - entertainer, highly skilled, 100+ caps, 31 goals and by now, probably a zero handicap on the golf course :015:
  11. That, is quite possibly the most fantastic chant ever. Yes, that one is pretty good - simple yet true :021:

    Liam Keogh

Sorry to see him go. I agree that he is a player with bags of potential but injuries have blighted him and with a tight squad, we cannot afford to carry passengers no matter how good they might be if they got free from these seemingly regularly occurring injuries. Sometimes you have to take a step back to go forward and maybe Peterhead and Paterson is just what Liam needs. Good luck to him, and to Peterhead who seem to be regrouping for a serious challenge based on skill, effort and ability rather than the Gretna/Livingston model of money, money, money.
  13. press conference called for 11am monday to announce the name (Alex McLeish no doubt)

If we are going down the 'extensive experience and age' route then I would rather have Jim Calder, Les Fridge, or Nicky Walker than that beast.
  15. if he would only move back north for first team football then I think we should stick with young Michael. He has waited patiently to get his chance and it would not be fair to guarantee some ageing prima donna with dubious nocturnal pleasures a place in the team ahead of him.
  16. At the start of the season I (and plenty others) thought he should be dropped when the 'moving to Dundee to be with CB' saga reared its ugly head. Apart from a couple of rocky games he proved me and everyone else wrong by being consistent, professional and as solid as ever. Now that he has signed a pre-contract with the Arabs, I dont see any reason to think he would be anything other than professional in his final games for ICT although I must admit to being in two minds whether he should play against United as there could be accusations levelled against him if the games didnt go as expected. Guess we will have to leave it to Charlie to figure out.
  17. Thanks for clearing that up Fiona ..... seems straightforward enough .... buy one at £100 with the names on it and frame it because it is a 'collectors item', and buy another at £40 without the names and wear it (if Errea's inconsistent sizes permit !!!) .... oh well, time to start saving !!!

Oh grow up .... he was a confused young man who has now seen the error of his ways as he got older and wiser. :002:

  20. Its a shame, but I think his mind was made up long ago. I wish him well (except against us). As has been said earlier in this thread (and in others), ICT did a lot to resurrect Dods' career as he previously had a reputation as anything but a solid defender, for making defensive blunders, and for scoring own goals etc. While ICT can perhaps be credited in some way with a turnaround in his fortunes, it has been a two-way street and we have benefited hugely from the fact that he has been so immense for us so i guess the books balance in that regard.
  21. i think the comment was .... "oh dear"

  24. In the Cup home (SPL) clubs have to charge SPL admission prices unless alternative prices can be agreed with the opposition club. It is my understanding that Dundee United were not prepared to agree to reduce the adult prices and have only agreed to a limited reduction in concession prices. In this instance the club tried but were thwarted so lets not blame ICT for this one. For anyone that doesnt know .... [li]Main Stand – Adult - £25 & Concession - £15[/li] [li]North & South Stand – Adult - £20 & Concession - £10[/li] [li]There will be no family tickets.[/li]
  25. funnily enough - i read that before complaining http://www.bbc.co.uk/scotland/sportscotlan...mon/faq.shtml#1 I think I got a non-standard or 'real' answer back because I pointed out to them that the game was not being blocked by ICT, nor was it being blocked by Hibs. I was able to tell them that I had checked my facts and they then admitted to their error, although for some reason, they cut out the online coverage at half time and at full time hence the lack of a full time report.
