  1. was it declared null and void ? I read on the SPFL website that United were deducted 3 points and fined 30K ! a subtle but important difference to your interpretation. Although we didnt deserve the points, I do however agree with your comment about the final table. the difference in money terms between 7th and 8th spot is 53K .... but we still have a chance to secure 7th on Saturday, especially if we win tonight.

  3. the substitution made no difference to the game, so at worst they should get a slap on the wrist. the points deduction is irrelevant as they were already down. Us not getting the points instead could be a more major talking point but didnt think we really deserved them ! Thomson would have had to resign anyway - he is a Premiership representative so would have had to seek re-election as a championship rep. They mentioned on radio that the championship rep also had to step down for same reason.
  4. and dont forget that our wage structure has always relied on a fairly modest wage but good bonuses so cup winning money for example wont be straight into the coffers without first getting a decent slice split between the squad so the net amount will be a lot lower. No idea whether or not KC and KT are drawing a wage, but I know in the past that many of those who ran our club did not. If they are then I would say its likely deserved given our on and off field performance over the last few years.
  5. I am putting the reputation system under scrutiny as it looks like a tiny minority of users are doling out their maximum allowed number of red dots per day in somewhat of a pattern. I may make some changes to the system based on my findings ...
  6. so if I delete my last post then yours will be the 999th ........
  7. doubt it considering he retired on medical advice after re-injuring himself a short time into his Falkirk contract.
  8. Just posted a blog entry with a Player of the Year update. With 3 games to go any one of five different players can still be the CTO - POY for 2015/16
  9. 3-0 Meekings and some life in Biscuits.
  10. He perked up when Roberts hit the post a few minutes ago, and now when he hit the post again just a few seconds ago.
  11. Storey scores right at the start of second half .... Biscuits still underwhelmed
  12. 'Biscuits' on Sportsound is definitely underwhelmed
  13. Tremarco runs 50 yards and scores :)

  16. You can do it on your own for about £400 for a home shirt, or there are cheaper options for away shirt, training tops etc .... We have sponsored at least one player's home shirt for close to 20 years on here, either as my own personal sponsorship, or as we do now, where there are a group of us. Details of how to get on board for the 2016/17 season will follow in due course but each person pays about £11 or multiples thereof to be part of the player sponsors group.
  17. All 3 of you would be welcome to the ticket as far as I am concerned, but as Fraz is a member of the Player Sponsor group then its only fair that he gets the tickets. Not sure if you are taking a +1 or not fraz? but feel free to offer your +1 to one of the others if not. Please contact me via PM as I need to give real name and a contact number to the club. You can give them any other personal details (if required) over the phone.
  18. no-one in the sponsors' group seems up for it so I am going to open it up to any long term regular poster, not necessarily a member of the sponsors group. Last chance for a player sponsor to show interest ...........
  19. use this as the matchday thread - sorry, slept in this AM and have stuff to do on the last but one weekend before we head over the pond ! Normal updates will be done later in the day.

a couple of points to reality check our income 1. ICT runs at a loss without additional prize money from cups, transfers, league position etc so much of the increased revenue will have allowed for a modest profit at best. 2. ICT pays a low wage and typically has a pretty decent bonus payment for performance. This would eat into our cup and final league placing prize money. 3. Playing in the Europa League likely cost us money instead of making us money. I have no idea of the exact numbers recently, but the economics of a club like ICT are not as straightforward as saying every penny in is or can be a windfall for the manager. Those tasked with the stewardship of the club have done a pretty good job of managing our meagre finances year by year and it is to their credit that we have not faced more of the drama that saw us come close to going to the wall a few years after we were formed.

Unless there is a good reason that we dont know about (niggling injuries or something else behind the scenes) then I do have to say I am also disappointed in this news.
  22. If JH wants to talk to Celtic or Celtic want to talk to him then I dont believe ICT will stand in his way. Dont think it will happen though. BUT, depending on who is chosen, there may be a ripple effect where other jobs open up ..... Current odds are showing Roy Keane, Davie Moyes, Steve Evans, and Neil Lennon as early favourites and Charlie Nicholas has the most ludicrous comment I have read so far for supporting Keane for the job !! nothing to do with managerial ability or anything else but .... "I would like Roy Keane to get it because I think he would sort a lot of people out,"
  23. Yes. definite case for hosting in more than one place, but in the real world very few companies, far less individuals have the budget to double their costs for a "just in case" scenario. Most of them might use their hosts backup service (we do) but if the same problem hits their backup servers as did their main servers and the provider or users themselves dont have an offsite backup you are royally f***** ! We DO have two hosts. Our main VPS hosting and a secondary shared host for emergencies or stuff with a smaller overhead. We dont store backups on the shared host, we use it for other bits and pieces and we do make use of the hosting providers daily and weekly backups, offsite backups and on top of this we add our own scheduled offsite backups. If we were to go down, or there was an issue of some sort we should be able to get back up and running with minimal loss of data. In light of this event though, we are going to go back and take a look at our processes just to be sure! Maybe increase the frequency of our backups and do a bit of testing. Looks like the RCFC site is up again so either the host or the club did have a restorable backup somewhere. From a tech perspective I am happy they got it solved quickly. Have been in the situation of having to restore a backup on here before and its not fun.
  24. already mentioned:
  25. I would laugh, but on this occasion I really do feel their pain so will leave that to others !!! If it happened to us (or to ICTFC) then we would be raging on two fronts ... how the host could be so stupid as to run a script in the first place that would do this, and how - in some cases - they apparently dont have a backup they can restore and are urging clients to restore from their own backups (which many wont have as they saved them to another part of their hosting space and the script deleted those too). I cant scorn County as it appears they have used a VPS (same as we use and also used by ICTFC) so they are not paying pennies for a cheap hosting solution and these more expensive options typically come with 100% uptime guarantees, daily backups and other administrative bells and whistles that you pay the premium for to avoid situations just like this. If there is a lesson here, it is to backup often (we do it every 2 days, more often when we have a surge in traffic or when we perform major upgrades) and to download a copy of files and DBs almost as often (we do it once per week and again we do it manually if/when we feel its needed). The loser in all of this is going to be 123reg.co.uk .... we do have some domains registered with them (.co.uk ones) but we dont use any of their hosting services as we did not like the offer or some of the comments we read when we were looking. Cant remember the exact details as it was several years ago but we passed them over in favour of another company. They already look like they will be facing a group action from a lawyers firm whose site also went down but as an online host, whatever the financial cost, the damage to their reputation is worse and this will haunt them for years to come. Good luck marketing themselves when they are always going to be known as the company that deleted part of the internet ! If County want a good host they could do worse than looked at Wired Tree. We have used them for several years and had little or no problems despite them being based in Chicago USA. Their response time to tickets is typically only a few minutes and the support staff actually have a clue and work with us to resolve issues rather than just using the typical response we used to get from another (cheaper) provider which is always to blame the customer or a script on their website for being at fault ....
