  1. Thank you. See you all there.
  2. Where do you park? Have decided too important a game to stay at home.
  3. Did this happen then? Actually forgot all about it and took car.
  4. Could be a good move to leave Fraser in goal at Motherwell as he should play well to try and impress his new employers. Ok before anyone says it could go the other way also.
  5. I actually forgot Kerr was playing for most of the game. I do think Zadi makes those around him nervous and that includes me but everyone will not agree. I thought Imrie was Ok today - tries really hard and works hard.
  6. I enjoyed the game today especially on a nice sunny day. I thought the stand side linesman was shocking but the ref was not too bad. Much better game than the last one but 2 points dropped I fear.
  7. I want to like him 2 but he can be scary! Did'nt think much of him today and neither it seems did Hamilton as a lot of the play went down his side of the field.
  8. Well done to all the players. However, I don't think my heart can stand all this excitement. Gonna be tight next Sunday hope it's better than the last Hamilton game.
  9. Anyone know what time kick off. Don't know where else to look.
  10. It's nailbiting stuff I agree but I'd rather be us than Falkirk. We need to beat Hamilton but hope the game is better than the last one which was frustrating stuff. After their performance I really hope they go down
  11. Sounds good. We'll be there. Cant wait to see the old Caley favourites like Wilson Robertson and Kevin Mann. For a good cause too. Hope lots of folk turn out.
  12. keep up the good work Caley D! Things are much better now.
  13. Although we were dreadful today esp in the 1st half I've never seen such a cynical team as Hamilton. Billy Reid has been nominated for manager of the year and they have been praised for doing well in the SPL. Well what a lot of cheats. They were a big physical team that dropped at any contact and as for the ref don't get me started - I think conned is the word! They time wasted at every opportunity especially at goal kicks and substiutions. As some points the ball seemed never to be in play at all. I now know who I want to see relegated. However, I continue to worry about us as we are still not playing well except in the last 5 minutes.
  14. We just seem to have less pride in our heritage than Wales. It always surprises me that Wales, so close to England, can defend their identity and yet we, away up here, seem to be so keen on Anglicisation. ''Gaelic is dead, an embarrassment to all the local English residents, only the thick West Coasters use it, why can't they speak English like us'' So sad and so wrong! In Wales they rejoice in their native tongue and indeed I have heard it used for their regional news on TV. Just ponder on why Inverness and Dublin are the best English speaking places in Britain!! No wonder we let our natural resources outflow from our country and give thanks for Kishorn, Cromarty and Ardersier, a bone thrown to the locals to keep them happy. Backbone? I don't think so! Wales wins at more than rugby, I'm afraid. . Should have added that where we normally go in Wales about 88% of the population speak Welsh. It is like going to a foreign country with young and old speaking Welsh on the streets in everyday life. I don't remember Inverness and the likes ever having a Gaelic speaking heritage like this.
  15. Well yeh! but we aint going to get them.
  16. I think we are going to need to get points from our games!
  17. Getting a bit fed up of Finnigan. Sounds like not one of Lionels better moments AGAIN. I don't think we are playing well and need a bit of passion. Oh well still second half to come. Come on boys! At home doing a horrid essay this is not exactly cheering me up.
  18. Not anti-Gaelic but still think they are a waste of money especially when the roads are falling to bits especially the A82 which I have to drive every day. Don't think they cause accidents though. Seems to work well enough in Wales when we go.
  19. me neither Doresboy! However, my 10 year old asked me why not on Saturday. Have to say found it difficult to explain and justify. I agree that the young folk not around at the time of the merger don't understand what an enormous thing it was at the time. I feel very strongly about keeping the Caley (and Thistle) bit alive and that this part of the history of the club is important. I also pinch myself when I see an Inverness team (and my team) playing the OF etc. I am proud of how far this club has come in relatively a short time. Wasn't completely convinced by the merger at the time but now I can see what a great thing it has been.
  20. Give poor JUD a break. He is a real football man and obviously nerves mixing up Dundee and United.
  21. I thought the 2nd half was scrappy and nerve racking but well done to the team for grinding out a win to get a precious 3 points. Thought the atmosphere in the north stand was great - nice to see all the kids there. Well done to club on its kids for a quid promotion. Met a few families on their 1st visit to the TCS. Hope they will come back.
  22. Gosh I'd forgotten about the football times and the Green final. Pre-teletext, internet etc. In reply to the original question I think a lot of old Caley folk stayed away at first due to all the bad feeling in pre-merger meetings etc. I myself always took an iterest in ICT at the beginning but due to ill health, having young kids etc did'nt manage to attend many matches. However have attended a lot more games in recent years - especially since my boys are all at an age where they nag me to take them to matches. Have to confess have got the bug again. Nothing better than live football and I see ICT as my team now as I did my beloved Caley. I still miss the Highland League days and the SPL is not so much fun but I am proud to see my home town have a team in the SPL which all these years ago would have seemed like a dream. Funnily enough I was thinking about this on saturday at the Falkirk match and I looked around the North stand and could see loads of familiar faces from the old days. I think a lot of Caley folk ( and probably Jags folk) have returned over the years. There will always be some who will never return (my brother and his best mate included) but time has moved on and staying away is their loss. I think their number is probably not as large as people imagine. I think the Highland League may have kept records of the type you are looking for. When Caley celebrated their centenary I was lucky enough to get to read the original HL records of the league at that time. John Grant used to be the person to ask about this. If I see any old HL faces may be able to ask.
  23. You can't get a train direct to Falkirk but i think if you go to Glasgow you then get the Edinburgh train which will stop at Falkirk. The Glasgow to Edinburgh line is a frequent service. However, not sure how far away the stadium is as it is not in the centre of town.
