  1. I've lived by the loch for 12 years now and never seen anything but have to agree with Connie that many credible people have seen the monster and do'nt go to the press. When stuff is in the press it is not normally locals but tourists with dodgy pics. I personally do'nt really believe in it but as stated preiously hope it is never disproved.
  2. Although not in the CB fanclub I do think this topic is unfair. As stated above everyone is entitled to holidays and nobody not even football managers works 52 weeks a year. Surely this qualification can only benefit the club.
  3. Yip thats the one! Had to watch it a couple of times to finger out the out of sync
  4. Just been on youtube to view the bt advert mentioned elsewhere on the site. Found a video called caley, thistle merger. Gosh it seems like another age then but look how far weve come. No mention of ambitions of the spl just the ambition of playing well in the 3rd division. Peoples fears did'nt cpme true for instance - no Caley takeover or disappearance of the Thistle name. By the way my kids think it's hilarious that I am selling raffles in the clip.
  5. And me too! I think we are starting to look unprofessional letting potential players call the shots.
  6. I really like the strip. It's a change not having stripes. I bet it sells well despite all the whinging.
  7. Took the kids to the game today, throughly enjoyed it. I wondered what happened to the Brewster out banner! Hopefully a lot of the people taking advantage of the ?1 offer will return.
  8. Have to agree with him. My eldest attends Glenurquhart high school and this is a problem with some of the boys. They want to play for their school but if signed ICT players are not allowed. Does anyone know when this rule came about. I went to the High School in the late 70's and several players played for Caley, Clach and Thistle and the school team. Does it only apply to SPL teams?
  9. He sounded very bitter on stv. This can only cause more trouble I fear.
  10. Can't believe the bught thing is surfacing again. Any pre-merger Caley fans out there will know this subject was done to death years ago. However, maybe i'm wrong and the politics have changed.
  11. Agree with above but I come into Inverness by the A82 and it's a nightmare to get to the other side of the city eg Raigmore or the retail park. Wish the council would start the bypass over the river at Torvean. Also other cities have good park and ride systems in place at different sites. Inverness only has one at our stadium sometimes and that is no use to people arriving at my side of the town.
  12. Eliza I too went to the high school but I had Mrs Smith (wife of Vickie) for typing. I still touch type to this day as she drummed in not looking at the keyboard to us. IHE prove it that the majority of the posters on here are ex academy. I remember a lot of Caley and Jags fans at school some of whom post on here to this day.
  13. I too remember shopping myself for sugar (at frozen foods!) as you were only allowed 2lbs each customer. My mum would pay herself as well to get another bag. Can't remember why - must read link above now to find out.
  14. Charles, In my Caley days Digger sat in the stand!
  15. I lived in Telford St from 1975 - 1989. Well remember frozen foods, greig garage, the distillery etc. Still feel sad when I drive up Telford St and look at Currys etc
  16. Used to love it when the shows were in town when I was in the High School. I was given money to spend on a friday or sat night but during the week had to make do with 50p (enough for 2 goes on the waltzers). That would'nt even pay for half a go now. Happy days.
  17. surely there must be a better way of discipline than corporal punishment. I remember when I was in school folk got belted for anything ie forgetting homework, not getting a good enough marks and although I suppose it probably did'nt do any lasting harm it was a bit out of order. I think a lot of kids want love and security. A lot of kids don't have this anymore. The family situation can change from day to day. Lack of a good role model and set boundaries does'nt help either. Good luck in this search for people Maimie. I wish you well. I bet the success stories outway the failures.
  18. So what happened to the original trophy? I think someone should explain
  19. I also remember the North of Scotland Cup looking grander but I'm sure it is the same trophey. Funny how the memory plays tricks or maybe it was because I was sober yesterday and maybe I was'nt in my Caley days.
  20. What a great afternoon despite the weather. Real end to end stuff but well done to the boys! I bet there are some tired legs out there tonight. Pity more folk did'nt turn out to support the team. I remember north cup finals in days of old being packed. There were more elgin folk than us, but I bet the ones there really enjoyed it and the boys were jumping at the end.
  21. Have to say I fully agree
  22. I for one think it is really important that the Caley and Thistle names live on. It is important to remember the origins and previous heritage of the club. I also miss the HL days but I think it might be because I was young then !
