  1. Speaking of unfashionable...
  2. Best ICT goal for me was Iain Stewart's sublime lob v County in the 2nd game played at the Caledonian Stadium. Absolute genius. Used to have it on tape but long gone now.
  3. Taken from theage.com.au: Marius Niculae (Inverness Caledonian Thistle). Forward. Born 16.5.81. Caps 29. Goals 13. Has made a welcome return to the national squad after four years of injuries and took his goal tally into double figures this season at club level. Not one to be messed with, Niculae was a national judo champion at junior level in Romania. Well thank feck it's not me that's been giving him a hard time all season.
  4. To be fair, he does describe the item as "unbelievable".

ICT really do need to sort out Don's contract ASAP. A 3 year deal at around ?1500 per week would surely be fair to both parties. Stop wasting cash on not-good-enough casualties like Markus and use it to keep Cowie instead.
  6. Ha-ha you beat me to it by one second! :015:
  7. "I thought Mike McCurry had the balls to stand up and give these decisions, but he bottled it" "I don't give a toss what it means to Rangers" "We got cheated" "It's been going on for years, you don't get any decisions here" Well done to Craig Levein for having the balls to stand up and say what needed to be said. A brilliant post-match interview. For anyone that missed it you can listen to it here.
  8. Yep, well done Rory. To those that refuse to see his potential, please remember his age. When Barry Robson was a similar age he was getting dogs abuse from us for not being good enough (for the 2nd division!!!) and eventually went on loan to Forfar. 8 years later he's worth a ?million+, scoring against Barcelona in the CL and scoring the winner in an OF game! Patience from the fans would help Rory's confidence and development no end.

For a moderator, I think this is a very poor post. You haven't offered an opinion, given an explanation or contributed to the discussion at all. What was your point? "For a moderator". You are quite entitled to think that it is a very poor post, but the reference to Moderator status is completely irrelevant. Give Yngwie a break. He is probably sleep deprived due to a new arrival (as I am) and just forgot to make it clear that it was a tongue-in-cheek comment.

Delighted to see Don back to the form he was in earlier this season. Maybe he suffers from S.A.D. and prefers the longer days? :023:
  11. I think that's the main reason for the lack of atmosphere. Someone else mentioned that "the atmosphere at Telford St was great", and for a midweek title decider or a Scottish Cup game it was, but for a run-of-the-mill Saturday game against the likes of Buckie, Keith, Rothes etc. you could go the entire 90 minutes without hearing a chant of any description. It takes an especially meaningful game situation for us Highlanders to break the mould and start singing, and as far as I remember it's always been that way.
  12. I'd agree with most of IHE's ratings but would make a few adjustments: MAGUIRE :003: "Simply not overly impressed" is putting it mildly. Cost us a lot of points this season and should be shown the door ASAP. WILSON :003: :003: :003: :003: :003: Still a fantastic player. Oh for a 27-year-old Baz in the team! RORY :003: :003: :003: :003: He will become a talented version of Bayne in the not-too-distant future. NICULAE :003: :003: :003: :003: :003: :003: :003: :003: :003: :003: If he goes in the Summer season ticket sales will SUFFER!

That's a relatively sensible formation for you, TCF. Please allow me to do the honours and post the "ridiculous team" on your behalf: Brewster Bayne Black Imrie Wilson Niculae Wyness Hastings Tokely Fraser Munro

  15. Its about time you studied spelling and grammar! Surely you must realise that reedee!!! is taking the p1ss!!! My 7-year-old has better spelling and grammar!!! Exams my @rse!!!
  16. Why? Seems to me like a reasonable discussion on whether or not the game v Gretna might or might not go ahead. Why would you delete it?

It is a great book. Of course Mailer passed away a few months ago so I guess they have put out a new edition because of this. Seriously, I agree that the team were far hungrier for a victory today than at any other time since the Celtic game in December. How much of that is down to Brewster? How much of it is down to the (deserved) criticism of the players lack of effort as posted by many on this forum? I would say we got a reaction from the players today because they were told very frankly on this forum that their workrate and attitude fell way below what the fans expect.
  19. I'm going to set mine to 3:00pm on August 13th, 1994 and do it all again. Happy days :003:
  20. I don't think he was showing committment and passion for the cause with that gesture. He did it because he scored against Aberdeen, the team who rejected him, and he wanted to provoke their fans. Having said all that, it was bloody funny at the time. Not so funny now in hindsight.
  21. I don't know where you were sitting, but I was in the main stand next to the away end. The cops and stewards had a **** of a job stopping some fans who looked like they were trying to get on the pitch after Duncan's gesture at them. It doesn't really matter whether he had his hands in the air, was flicking them the Vs or waving his tadger at them. The fact is he did it to antagonize a large crowd of excitable fans and could have caused a serious crowd control incident. And remember, as a result of that gesture we played the entire 2nd half with 10 men, ultimately losing a game we might well have won with 11 still on the park.
  22. Are you on the wind up? You mean he seriously put his hands in the air? Wow, that is criminal Barry Wilson and/or Mark McCulloch ran alongside the entire length of the main stand with their hand cupped to their ear when they scored for Livi against us. Robson loves "getting it right up us" when he scored for United. I bet he would do the same if he scored for Celtic. Sure we wouldn't be best pleased but it's nothing out of the ordinary. Indeed when Duncan scored for us against United in the Cup he did much the same celebration and wasn't cautioned. It was the reaction of the Aberdeen fans and that greeting twat McNamara that got Duncan booked. And to top it all off you think he was lucky not be arrested - comedy stuff! Hey, I was just giving my opinion as I saw it. There's no feckin need to respond like such a w@nker. Site admin? You have got to be joking.

Today's crowd was pretty good given our lack of form and the fact that there is nothing to play for. Entirely expected and not difficult to understand.
  24. He faced the away fans and put both hands in the air, quite obviously aimed in their direction and done to antagonize them. Imagine if Robson, Dods or any other ex-player scored against us and stood in front of the North Stand with both hands in the air...we would not be best pleased. It was a stupid thing to do and he deserved to be booked. He's lucky he wasn't arrested.
