Has anyone got footage of Stewarty's 2nd goal against County in the 2nd game played at TCS after it opened? Sand wedge style chip over the keeper from about 20 yards. One of the best finishes I've seen at any level and shows just what Iain was all about.

Reading this post just made me think back to what a superb finisher Iain was. One of the very few strikers who knew that they could beat the best keeper in the World just by chipping it high enough over his head! A genius, and it's a shame that a lot of posters on here maybe never got the chance to see him play. He would be a sensation at TCS now.

Don't think there's anything wrong with being critical of one player in a particular match, but I certainly couldn't be critical of Butcher's tactics and what he has achieved so far. 11 points in 6 games, Extrapolate that out to 38 games and we would have 70 points for the season, enough for 3rd place in all seasons apart from 2005/06. And the 6 games have not been easy ones (OF twice, Hibs & Utd) so it's a fair reflection on how we might do in a full season under Butcher.
  4. A win, or maybe even a draw, in the last game of the month away to Falkirk should be enough for Butcher to take the March award.
  5. Not ICT but I remember Davie Cooper playing at Telford Street in a pre-season game in 1978. He hit a trademark left-foot piledriver into the Howden End that smashed one guys specs all over his face. For some reason that has stuck with me over the years.

Tricky business these nested quotes. Hastings has his chance to get his place back next week. I hope he takes it.
  7. It's worth a good bit less now! Celtic out
  8. That's true. There was a "crowd" of 8536 at the semi replay between Dunfermline and Hibs at Hampden in season 2006/07, so now semi-finals are settled on the day.
  9. I'm sure Ross will be gutted that you don't find him attractive. As for the other players, well you've made your feelings quite clear.
  10. The profits generated by both semis are divided evenly between the 4 clubs involved. I would have a guess at ?250,000 for each club if both of the OF are involved but not playing each other.
  11. The Celtic forum would have a far greater volume of traffic through it and could afford to be more selective about the ads placed on the site. Considering the vast majority of the members of CTO pay nothing, I think it's a cracking site and am more than willing to put up with a few ads I may not like. The alternative would be for every member to pay a subscription.
  12. I'm pretty sure Scotty and CaleyD have little or no control over what ads appear on the site. The ads are necessary as the site has to be funded somehow. Can't expect them to fund it themselves while most of us pay nothing! Yep, I think that's right. Google Adsense uses some sort of keyword bidding system to place appropriate ads on the site. Maybe we should use other terms to refer to R@ngers & Celt1c. Mind you, most of us do anyway!
  13. This is a must win for 2 reasons: The cup semis would bring in a good bit of money for next season. It would totally demoralise Falkirk, who already have to stew upon being bottom of the league for the next 17 days at the very least.
  14. Fantastic stuff. Well done to TB, MM & the players. Enjoy your day at work tomorrow Billy/Hun/Bluenose Boys!
  15. I'll buy him the best bottle of Rioja I can find if he keeps us up. ps. we also need to win the Scottish Cup before he gets the vino.

Sounds a bit like a ballerina girl running with the night. It could be endless love, say you, say me. Hello IHE. Truly, that would be the closest thing to heaven. However, by this time on a Friday you're usually dancing on the ceiling. It is not my destiny to be stuck on you all night long (thank feck).
  18. Well let's hope he's right. Feeling confident about this one but at the back of my mind is the scenario that sees us 7 points adrift of the pack at 5pm tomorrow. No, bollox to that...WE WILL WIN THIS GAME!

Of course we will beat Hibs.
  20. The quarter-final draw has boiled down to: ICT v Falkirk Dunfermline v Aberdeen St Mirren v Celtic Rangers v Hamilton You would have to think Rangers will make the semis, not sure about Celtic as in their last 6 games against SPL teams their record is: W1 D4 L1. I can definitely see Aberdeen screwing up at the Pars, and of course we will beat Falkirk. So the semi-finalists will be ICT, Dunfermline, St Mirren & Rangers. I'd be happy with Dunfermline in the semi and leave Rangers 'till the final.
  21. ICT v Forfar; St Mirren v Dunfermline.

I thought that first time I saw the highlights too. Having watched it a few times now I think the ball took a bobble as Russell made the tackle, making it look like he got the ball first. Can't see an appeal being made by the club.
