And if we can't manage that we could always follow the example of the FC Magdeburg fans who felt the need to show their misfiring forwards where the goal is!
  2. Sorted that out for you.
  3. I think Luke's case is a good one. On the one hand Jonny is probably ambitious to play at the best level he can. On the other hand he is very settled in Inverness with Sarah. That makes it a tough choice for him. You know that c.£150k windfall we're getting from the cup replay against Dunfermline and the tie versus Celtic? Well that would have been £0 if Jonny hadn't chased a lost cause in the 94th minute and stuck it in the back of the net on the 7th January. I don't think it's asking too much to give Butcher a third of that cash to boost the offer he can make to Hayes. All the squad know Hayes is our best player, anyone who follows them on Twitter can see that, so I don't think any one of them would resent him getting an extra £500 a week on a two year contract.
  4. Esson Meekings - Tokely - Williams - Gillet Foran - Tansey Hayes - Ross - Gnakpa Winnall
  5. And in the first SPL game of 2006/07 against St Mirren we conceded after 55 minutes. So the record is 514 minutes then. 162 minutes to go!
  6. Talking of statistics that is 352 minutes without conceding a goal in the SPL (O'Connor's free kick being the last). Any stattos know what the record is?
  7. How ironic that the penalty shoot out was born at the Caley Hotel in 1970! Link.
  8. Andy Shinnie is signed till end of 2012/13.
  9. Aberdeen could draw next week and we would still be 6th if we win. Problem is there's such a gap between 5th and 6th we are effectively in a mini league of 5 teams chasing 6th place. That cuts our chances greatly. It's a pity that 5th place is probably out of reach before the split. Could actually have done with St Johnstone not beating Hibs today strange as that may seem!
  10. Esson Proctor - Meekings - Williams - Gillet Tansey - Foran Hayes - Ross - Tade Sutherland

He was a fringe player at Bradford.
  12. We'll be fine. I know they're only 8 points behind us with a game in hand, but remember they had 8 points after just 4 games and have only gained 6 points since. They have just lost to the SPL's 2nd and 3rd worst teams (going by league position) at home and shipped 3 goals in each game. I think they'll be doing well to make 30 points this season. But as we'll be in the top 6 come the split that'll be of no concern to us!

Regardless of the team selection we should win this. Dunfermline have managed only 6 points from their last 17 league games. Even Hamilton last year were miles better than that. If we lose this it will be a shocker. And a very expensive shocker as the next round v Celtic will likely be on TV.
  14. We have always been about the collective rather than the individual. There have been 59 SPL monthly awards given out during our time in the SPL. We have won 6 manager of the month (read "team of the month") awards, zero young player of the month awards and one player of the month award. And guess who got that?
  15. Steve Williams quotes: "They all look sharp on the ball and the togetherness in the team is unreal". "Before they go out they get in a huddle in the changing room and you can really feel a connection in the team". I wasn't aware that they did that. Is this something they've done for a while or did Captain Hayes introduce it?
  16. @Gilletkenny kenny gillet Good game today the lads played well and well support from the fan!!! #firstcleanshit
  17. I think the Reebok Stadium is a great example of where a modern stadium fits in to modern life. It's basically situated in a retail park next to ASDA, Boots, Pets At Home etc. Do the shopping and take in the football in one go. Anyone who's seen it couldn't fail to be impressed. Could the new Caledonian Stadium be part of an extended retail park on the A96?
  18. Where do you think we would relocate to? A lot of fans would love us at the Bught but I reckon there's too many hurdles to overcome with that one. As long as it's got 4 sides and is nowhere near a feckin gas pipe I'll settle for anywhere!
  19. Read this. It shoots down the idea that you can't build near a high pressure line. Hell you're allowed to do piling 15 metres away from the high pressure gas pipeline without supervision. See page 8.
  20. If a hotel was struggling because of a steadily declining number of visitors it might spend some money to make the place more appealing and therefore attract more guests, or it could lower its prices. On the other hand it could do nothing and hope for the best. Nobody is suggesting building a 4th stand in order to increase capacity, it is in order to increase amenity and therefore make TCS a more attractive place to visit.
  21. I would only back the building of a 4th stand if the pipeline(s) could remain where they are. I'm not sure how far the club have explored the possibility of building a new stand, say of the same design as the north and south stands. I do fail to see why some think building a 4th stand is such a hilarious idea. It would make the ground a much more appealing place to visit. There are plenty of people who are put off going in bad weather, and sitting in a west stand would give protection from the prevailing wind/rain which generally comes from the west. Do the doubters have any better ideas to try and halt the slide in attendances? I'm not saying let's build the thing tomorrow, but if it is feasible (given the pipeline problem) then is it too much to ask to ASPIRE to build a 4th stand? And who says we have to make all the money back on it anyway? Sometimes you spend money on something purely because you want it! Let's imagine we had a couple of good cup runs, got some luck in the transfer market and so had the 750k in the bank. Would you build the stand then? Or would you spend it on players that could get us into the top 6 for a couple of seasons? Or what else would you do with it to get the lost fans back?
  22. I didn't assume we would get through, that's why I used words like "potentially" and "hopefully". I'm not 100% sure the pipeline would have to be moved either as the footprint for a semi-permanent stand is pretty much the same as what's there already on the west side of the ground. Again, I didn't say 60k "profit", I said "revenue". Of course there's costs involved and that's why I chose the words I did. And I know we haven't sold out the stadium against the OF for a few years but that's because the home end isn't full. There's always extra demand from the away support, you only need to see how many OF fans can be found in the main and north stands. I appreciate your reservations, and I a 4th stand will probably never happen, but it's still worthy of debate.
  23. The bottom line for me is the ground is unfinished. We should at least be aspiring to complete it by stating our desire to build a 4th stand and doing a rough costing. Even if it was a structure like our north and south stands costing about £750k that would do. Potential TV cash from the cup replay and hopefully the Celtic tie could see us 20% of the way there already. I know people will say "What's the point, we can't fill the other 3 stands anyway?". Well even if it's just got an extra 1000 OF fans in it 3 times a year that's an extra 60k revenue p.a. A better atmosphere and more protection from the elements are other compelling reasons for building it.
  24. Different pipe I am afraid ... The one I refer to is the national gas transmission line that takes gas to the whole of the north ... Oh I see. There must be two pipelines in the area then as the GPSS line to Kinloss/Lossie follows this route too. Sorry if I'm going over old ground here (didn't read the previous discussions), but what was the outcome of the debate about how these pipelines would affect the building of a fourth stand? Would it/they have to be rerouted first?
  25. Regarding the gas pipeline, it is owned by the MoD and takes fuel from a depot in the Longman out to the RAF bases at Kinloss (or it used to) and Lossiemouth. I can't see how this would cause a problem though as the footprint for a smallish stand wouldn't be much different to the existing structure on the west side of the ground. If we could afford it I say build it. It would make such a difference to the ground in terms of atmosphere and protection from the elements. Problem is we'll probably never have the cash to do this.
