The Geography dilemma
Sneck has the same problems attracting players and managers that regional towns and cities in England have. Sunderland are always complaining that they can't get players cos their wives like shopping in London...but then if you've seen Sunderland you'd know why Apart from the feeder club in Dingwall, maybe ICT should go for the cream of the crop of world clas s young players on Skye.....

well the deal's off...just rec'd this from someone at City: 'Talks with Bosco (Kaka's dad) went well in terms of City's ambition. Further talks then took place with Milan and hey ho they wanted more money. And that my friends is the time it all ended. Feeling of deep frustration from City that we never got to speak to Kaka So in sum total Milan have just taken a ?91m gamble and failed if it makes you feel better' oh well.....wonder if Barrowman's available for ?100m- Tynecastle........free buses please!
well it's taken time but finally the ICT board have done the one thing Hearts will have been hoping they wouldn't do. 7 points out of the next possible 9 anyone?- Thanks Brew
why all the thanks? Does he read this board??- Man City
Hughes makes ?15m bid for pint of Stella Mark Hughes has launched an astonishing ?15m bid for a pint of Stella at the Stonemasons Arms in Altrincham, sources revealed today. 'Mark comes in here quite often' said landlord Bill Spiggs, 'usually it's a quiet drink with friends, but today he came in with a well-dressed older Italian gentleman and was determined to spend millions of pounds.' Regular punters were shocked and dismayed at the implications of Hughes' unseemly display of wealth. 'If that's the way things are going we're all going to be priced out of drinking at the Mason,' complained retired plumber Dan Oldwick. 'We've already had a well-known county cricketer in here this week splashing out ?20,000 for Smokey Bacon crisps. It's disgusting in this economy when that kind of money could be given to starving children in Africa, or on a new dartboard.'- Man City
I've heard from someone at City that the deal should go through Mr Brewster, that means that Darius Vassell is spare.......- Man City
[City (and ICT obv) fan] I couldn't agree more about the obscene money, however Keanu Reeves got ?75m for making a crappy film recently in which he was crap....taking the view that it's an entertainment business (yes, sometimes it is) then whatever they pay players is on a par As for wanting to go back to Peter Swales days as chairman......I've been there it wasn't pretty so no thanks...although Big Mal could spin a good tale in the pub over a couple of bottles of shampers- Man City
I reckon the fee (?100m) would provide free season tickets for all the City fans who currently go for 6 years Ticket prices down there are a scandal. It's not the danger of the possible transfer putting City fans prices up but the other clubs charge City fans more for away matches. The other year I was faced with ?45 to see City play Birmingham....**** ground, loony fans and ?45 ffs....not worth it. Personally if I was still down there I'd pay ?45 (if I could) to see the likes of Kaka playing for my team- Man City

If I may add my two-pennerth.....as a former season ticket holder at City for 20+ years I have experienced much suffering, but...there's always a but isn't there.....who you buy depends on where the club is in it's development Chelsea got money suddenly but were already a team that got into cup finals and finished in the top 4 of the league. The EPL is such a tough league that the Old firm would do well to stay in it....and I'm being honest there. City were very comfortable in pre-season in a draw at Parkhead. Having seen Samaras play for City I can testify the lad is a bag of shyte up against good defenders City seem to be going for a top 6 place then building from there. It doesn't mean I wouldn't like them to have Cassillas and Villa, but they aren't likely to give up European cup football just yet. Of the latest batch of rumoured buys: Given: great goalie Parker: good holding midfielder Bellamy/Santa Cruz: decent strikers for a side in the UEFA places in the EPL It's all about building, not just throwing the best 11 players you can buy onto a pitch S'pose Caley somehow had ?10m to spend, who would/could the club buy? Boyd & Miller? It might get the club into the top 4 teams of the SPL but it's wouldn't make the slightest impact in Europe if we qualified for it. I'm not riled by comments about City by the way, I know it's only said in jest and when you've spent most of your life sharing a city with the most successful (and annoying) club in England you get a thick skin :thumb04: But then it's be boring if your team always won and did sensible things- David Sutherland v David Sutherland
I had a nightmare last night, I think all these David Sutherlands had confused me . . . I dreamt there were 2 Craig Brewsters!- Kris Boyd To Birmingham?
hope I'm not speaking out of turn here but I reckon Boyd is the classic flat track bully if Brum get promoted I wouldn't back him to score 5 in 38 Premiership games. By signing for Brum he's effectively retiring as a competitive footballer- Gary McAllister
or put it this way.... Gary...you only have to finish above Hamilton to be a hero- Iain Vigurs
I thought Vigurs and McBain looked the business yesterday......it was the middle of the park that was the problem.- Brewster's Tactics
don't change tactics and lose...Brew gets pelters change tactics and lose...Brew gets pelters He can't win can he? Quite literally.... there has to come a point where he has had enough of it- Phil Brown knows how to do it
it didn't do Hull any good, just embarrassed the players in frnt of the fans...it could well backfire against Brown City had the game won and eased off after half-time off subject...how much could Caley afford wages-wise for another striker? Got a couple at City that need games that certainly aren't going to get them after the transfer window- ICT -V- Aberdeen : matchday thread .....
I not gonna walk away from the club and I wouldn't boo the players, but as a paying spectator it's perfectly reasonable to question the tactical mistakes that everyone bar the management team can see. Brew shows no signs of knowing what's wrong at home and therefore does nothing to fix it. 4-5-1 only works if you have a player like Thierry Henry up front!- ICT -V- Aberdeen : matchday thread .....
I suspect the Board won't want to have to pay out compo for removing the manager- Who would you like as new caley manager?
I hear Gus Hiddinck is available..... Seriously...both teams I support, ICT and Man City, are one place above the relegation zone. I'm starting to think I'm a jinx.... Wonder if the clubs could be merged to cut down my petrol bill?- Why not at home?
Aye maybe you're right. Maybe we're just inept then? Perhaps our chief weapon should be surprise...surprise and fear...fear and surprise.... Our two weapons should be fear and surprise...and ruthless efficiency.... Our three weapons should be fear, surprise, and ruthless efficiency...and an almost fanatical devotion to Tokely....- Why not at home?
What's the problem at home? Tha same as dozens of other clubs have.....trouble breaking down a packed defence that can break rapidly to nick goals. Teams have worked ICT out up here. Sit back, soak up the pressure and if we overcommit they hit us on the break. The only answer is to come up with players/tactics that can do someat unusual and that costs ???. Until then we should concentrate on becoming hard to beat at home before trying winning at all costs. Of course if the feeder club were to unearth a creative midfielder and a speedy forward it would help :thumb04:- DO YOU WANT TO STAND AT THE FOOTBALL
I'd love to stand at matches but I tend to sway instead due to excess of beer beforehand, and it's interspersed with sprints to the bog whilst Tokely ponders which stand to propel the ball over...- Home Form
Agree with the first bit, not the bit about not going though. I'd hate to miss the game where we turn the corner formwise. Things can only get better etc...... - Man City
