  1. Of course there are "political" reasons for the EGM. To me the message is clear. We need more funding from new sponsors - we need better attendances - we really need promotion or have to look at all the other options - we cant afford the present youth system but we have to maintain the present playing squad as they actually look like they may do something this season.
  2. Highland football has lost another famous son following the passing of former Caledonian Football Club Chairman Hugh Crout. He joined Caledonian Football Club initially as a committee member in 1970, a period in which David Birrell was club chairman, his second spell in the chair. Hugh took over the helm at Telford Street in 1973, and would go on to serve the club for a decade, by which time they had amassed a treasure trove of silverware along the way. A superb ambassador during his tenure with the “Blues” he formed a superb partnership with then Manager, the late great Alex Main, and together they would go on smash records throughout the Highland League. The silverware haul included: five Highland League Championship titles 1976-77, 1977-78, 1981-82, 1982-83, 1983-84: Five North of Scotland Cup: 1973-74, 1974-75, 1976-77, 1981-82, 1983-84: Three Scottish Qualifying Cup victories: 1981-82, 1982-83, 1983-84: Two Highland League Cup successes: 1976-77, 1977-78: Two Inverness Cup victories 1977-78, 1982-83 Hugh was very much a real gentleman and made numerous friends throughout football, a man of integrity, who will be sadly missed.
  3. My contacts are suggesting that Orion will be putting up the 250K "Bridging Loan". And a mini "takeover" at Fort William would provide a "feeder" team.
  4. “We wanted to get a sound financial foundation for the rest of the season, to get the funds together so we don’t have to worry every month. “We’re going to have to look at what we’ve got at the moment in youth development. “The first thing we have to make sure is the normal football activity in the first team is protected. That’s the figures I gave tonight. “Then, we have to see what we can do with the youth academy. “It is survival of ICTFC on the park every Saturday and then we have to look at the luxuries of the youth development side. PERHAPS WE SHOULD ALL BE GETTING BEHIND THE BOARD INSTEAD OF LAMBASTING EVERY MOVE - We need starlings not vultures
  5. Were you not a refusenik then ?
  6. Can you book me in fer two ends and ten double voddies and coke please
  7. Best of Luck Greg - Thanks for the great memories ?
  8. Same thing happened to me but I bought the cigarettes.
  9. Loads more potential Board members today ?
  10. Ah the expert - what feckin type of car do we need to keep going ? The prosecution rests ?
  11. Memories, pressed between the pages of my mind; Memories, sweetened through the ages just like wine; Memories, memories, sweet memories
  12. Inverness Caledonian Thistle has installed electric vehicle charging facilities at its Caledonian Stadium as part of its green strategy and wide-ranging customer service offering - including the opportunity for some CTO posters to stick their wet finger in the plug hole ?
  13. Surprised that we don't elect a new Board from this forum. It appears that we have a number of individuals, of similar mind sets, who show the potential to get this club out of its worrying position with application of their clear business acumen, ability to man manage and a clear perspective from a footballing perspective. Their ability to recognize the failings on the field, the changes in business provision, recognition of the personality flaws in employees and a clear business plan for the future fills me with *****
  14. Et Tu Brute ?
  15. Because the family cant afford to buy a helicopter or a snow plough ?
  16. A boggy team - for Peats sake Gringo - stay off the Real Ale. From here on in Plastic Whistle will only improve. Wish we had the backing of a fervent Lottery winner !! This is our big chance to take three points off them before they start ringing the inevitable changes.
  17. Are they operating a "fan blacklist" ? ? Perhaps they cant afford overseas charges ?
  18. Of course I read Sophia's post - possibly an individual with the same degree of vitriol compared to my tolerance. There are a number of things in that post that I agree with but a lot that I view as uninformed and personable opinion. Lizi ain't exactly an "easy touch" and very politely challenges some of the negativity. Perhaps this is as much about the "views" of the individuals concerned due to personal experience and understandable "loyalty". This has caused as much "debate" as Sutherland and Savage. Sutherlands saving grace, to me, was that he had the spondoolicks to cover any gaffes, a successful side and more incoming finance. I think that the bottom line is that a number of individuals have attempted to keep ICT from administration. Their business acumen may have been flawed but at least, using sofa terminology, is that they have kept an old banger ticking over. We cant afford to trade it in and you don't put high quality tyres or brakes on a banger when you haven't got the money but need to keep it going. Hopefully the scrapyard scenario will be avoided. Our banger at the moment is ticking over quite nicely and here is hoping for an upgrade shortly. Oh and finally sometimes you have to take one for the team. Think that I will now wait for the EGM ?
  19. Am I the only one that thinks that the Board and Graham Rae were on a feckin hiding to nothing from the off, took over when many thought then that administration and part time football was inevitable. The fact that they kept the club going, got to the play offs last season, have maintained stability this season on the field at least - and put a lot of personal time and effort into it. Their downfall was probably that they did not have enuff spondoolicks to bring about further change. Again I fer one do not think that they would feck aff and leave us in the lurch. Cant wait to the next meeting splodging egg on a few faces.
  20. Well I usually get bowlicks for this but lets say wee Ian and his Envoy would be suss but legal in ICT investment plus some Japanese / Ausssie influence joining forces with Savage may result in a takeover ?
  21. Would a EGM be announcing something shocking or something promising ? Any new broom would want a clean sweep?
  22. Orion v Tullochs revisited but is the rumour of a third party vying to support either of those two circulating ?
  23. Maybe not ? A man has been charged in connection with the murder of a mother and son who disappeared more than 40 years ago. Renee MacRae and three-year-old Andrew were last seen driving out of Inverness on November 12, 1976. The 36-year-old mother-of-two's BMW was found burnt-out in a lay-by on the A9 near Dalmagarry, 12 miles south of the city, but the pair have never been seen since. A 77-year-old man was arrested in the north of England on Wednesday and charged in connection with their deaths. He is due to appear in Inverness Sheriff Court later today. A detailed forensic search of Leanach Quarry, near Inverness, continues and the bodies of Ms MacRae and Andrew have not been recovered.
