I have to concede that I havent seen Deano play apart from a worthless 10 minutes at Muvversmell - but we were crying out fer pace up front yesterday. I suspect that Brew needs to look at him more closely as well - is it just me but could Deano do with the Brew training. He looks really top heavy andif he lost some weight from his thighs he may well motor. And what about Watt - the new John Terry ?

SP - the first man to get my drift - I have been disappointed with Marius as he has come nowhere near my expectations as yet. He is getting highly paid and should be performing AND entertaining at a higher rate. He came here as a fallen pro with a background of significant international potential. He came here to prove that he can play in that arena again. He is obviously a very talented individual but he aint set my heather on fire in the least. People keep on saying - "give him time" - With Brew on board that time has now probably been elongated. Wanderer - How the feck did ya get back to China so quickly ? :001: Marius, Wilson, McGuire, Wyness and Watt can all benefit from the Brew regime - especially Marius. As SP also pointed out it is games like ParkDread that Marius has come to Scotland to play him. On paper we should go there as a 4-5-1 and Brew is the 1 at the moment. If he plays Marius then it is another definite Cometh the Man scenario.

I think I have discovered a new psychological phenomena called the Marius Complex - it produces a form of blind adulation in which the perceptions of the individuals involved are unconciously altered and the brain washing of hype, hysteria and hero worshipping cloud all sense of critical judgement. As fer me - when he plays well I will adulate - it is just that he still does not come over as an international, an exceptional talent - he is about feckin average so far.

Have you got a Marius Complex. By the way it was Brew who screwed th shot wide although Marius was watching from ten yards further back.

I'll get feckin shouted at fer this MEE but it wasnt cos he wanted to pass it to Brew - he simply is also very left foot favoured. He had two clear chances on his right foot but pulled out. Brew got the pass becos of his movement not because MN was trying to suck up. Brew simply made Marius look second class.

A feckin good start overall IMHO. Fraser shouted more today than I have ever noticed. The back four held their line together, allowing Caff to take the lead. Rosscoe was evidently restrained as was Granty. He looked much better covering the left and leaving Caff to it but McBain doesnt need much covering - unlike his predecessor. Duncan played in the "hole" and was restrained which is his best position. Black in front as a playmaker whcih is where he is at his best. But Bazza was his first mistake. He played too much to Bazza IMHO and missed out Cowie. I would target Cowie more but play Rankin out wide left. Brew probably had no option other than play Marius and himself today. I am shure that Brew learnt a lot and Marius has also learned that he is not a sure starter and has to play AND train fer his place. But fer the most our attack was Bazza, Brew and Marius - Experienced and wily perhaps but pacey and penetrating NOT. We are going to regret the lack of pace. Dargo would have had a field day with Brew today.

Two less than me davie then. But we played some great stuff at times today but had no luck in front of goal - but we have no pace either. When Hibees attacked they did it with width and pace.

Brewster looked like the international today and Niculae like a 40 year old. His touch, movement and workrate was well in front. Niculae hasnt impressed me as yet and I thought today would be the day. Shurely he has got more about him. He was MINCE. And did anyone else notice a) how often Brew and Marius got in each others way b) Both made similiar movements but Brew always got there first c) how Marius misread two classic Brew flicks and a Bazza dummy and d) how the players markedly targetted their passes at Brew. Brew and Parky have a tete a tete on the sidelines and hey presto Marius is hooked and probably had been on the park 20 minutes longer than he should have. BOTTOM LINE - Brewster and Niculae CANNOT play together. The selection against Cellic will be very interesting. Will it be Brews decision or will it be taken out of his hands. Niculae actually looked shocked to be hooked. On footballing terms it simply has to be Brew - in political terms ??

He has taken over from Brown in missing penalties - if he had stood still the ball would have feckin hit him. Solid at the back, has the pace required and, especially in the second half was motoring up and down the line but always had the strength and stamina to get back. Some great overlapping and crosses. To get back on track - It is not Brewster who should be getting the flak. The Board who have served us welll since inception but they have made a series of big feckin MISTAKES and we have to face it that we are really up against it.

Brewster has done well !! He has picked players out of the bargain feckin bucket that the other clubs were happy to get rid off !! Now perhaps if he had been given the job earlier - but I suppose that isnt anybodys fault. :008:

Does it not say something that players such as Brown, Bullen, Bamba, Wilson, Cuthbert etc. all decide to stay put. Perhaps they can all see where ICT are going ?
